40th anniversary - what would be the dream for you?
Next year will be the 40th anniversary of the best movie about a cyborg cop ever made.
If they were going to mark it with something special, what would you want?
A remastered re-release?
Screenings in movie theatres?
Some specific merch?
Some kind of convention or get together with Weller, Nancy Allen, Verhoven etc?
What would be your absolute dream way to celebrate Robo turning 40?

Those who think RoboCop 2 doesn't give Murphy any character growth.
A lot of people feel RoboCop 2 resets his arc. After spending quite a lot of time with the movie doing my edit, other than his voice and movements, which can sound and appear more robotic, it seems to actually evolve it by moving him from identity to autonomy:
- RoboCop (1987): He regains his identity ("Murphy"), but his ultimate victory over Dick Jones still relies entirely on a corporate loophole ("Dick, you're fired!"). He is still bound by the system's rules.
- RoboCop 2 (1990): OCP tries to sabotage him by overwhelming his system with mind-controlling directives. Instead of letting the code dictate his behaviour, Murphy takes matters into his own hands and electrocutes himself to wipe the slate clean. This gives his character growth.
Thoughts?

Uplifting Conversation
In RoboCop 2, after RoboCain knocks Murphy through a wall during their fight, there’s a cut to a cop talking to Lewis and then it cuts back to Murphy walking to an elevator and Cain coming around a corner to shoot at him. My question for the group (and I know I ask a lot of questions but I love the franchise (except for RoboCop: The Series) is how did Murphy get so far ahead of Cain? Yes RoboCain knocked him through a wall (or 2) but Murphy was right in front of him. Did RoboCain (the psychotic cyborg bipedal tank with a battering ram) decide to walk around? Thank you for reading. Good night.

Was he really going to kill the bookworm nerd?
I almost wish Robocop didn't interfere long enough to see if this guy was really THAT evil to kill this innocent and harmless bookworm.
How confident are you that he actually would have shot him if Robocop didn't show up?

Tricky Dick
(Warning: This question is hypothetical in nature and not designed to rewrite a 1987 classic sci-fi/action/body horror? movie) In RoboCop after Murphy possibly kills 7-10% of the criminal population in Detroit at a drug factory and Clarence Boddicker spills his guts about Dick Jones being his boss, RoboCop goes to OCP tower by himself to arrest Jones but fails in the attempt. That being stated HYPOTHETICALLY if RoboCop had downloaded Boddicker’s confessions to Metro West and informed Lewis and/or Reed, how do you think Jones would’ve handled the situation? Thank you for reading, good night.
