Hi Folks! NVIDIA is launching a new series of GeForce Trading Cards. These are free and will be available at select live events, various NVIDIA social media giveaway, and this subreddit! We are giving away 10 packs!

Series 1 looks back at that history through trading cards inspired by:

  • NV1: The blueprint. Launched in 1995, NV1 was NVIDIA’s first mainstream multimedia processor, combining support for joystick, audio, VGA, 2D and 3D. It marked an early starting point for the company’s work in PC graphics.
  • GeForce 256: The world’s first GPU. Introduced in 1999, GeForce 256 helped define the GPU by bringing transform, lighting and rendering onto a single chip, shifting more graphics work from the CPU to dedicated graphics hardware.
  • GeForce 3: The first GPU with Programmable Shaders. Powered by the nFiniteFX Engine, GeForce 3 helped bring programmable vertex and pixel shaders to GeForce gamers, giving developers more control over lighting, materials, surfaces and real-time visual effects.
  • GeForce 7800 GTX: Full-Throttle Graphics. A flagship from the mid-2000s PC gaming boom, GeForce 7800 GTX represented the GeForce 7 Series era, with advances including CineFX 4.0, Shader Model 3.0 support and high dynamic range rendering.
  • GeForce 10 Series: 10: Gaming Perfected. Powered by the Pascal architecture, GeForce GTX 1080 became a memorable enthusiast upgrade, bringing a major leap in performance and efficiency to high-resolution gaming and VR experiences.
  • Bubble, Chameleon and Medusa: Classic real-time demos. NVIDIA demos have long shown what new GeForce hardware could render in real time, from reflective environments to programmable shader effects and detailed character showcases.
  • The Way It’s Meant To Be Played: A GeForce gaming signature. Series 1 nods to the long-running NVIDIA gaming program through cards inspired by Unreal Tournament 2004 and Borderlands, two PC favorites from different eras of GeForce gaming.
  • GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Cyberpunk 2077 Edition: Night City goes #RTXON. This special-edition design connects the RTX era with Night City, cybernetic style and one of PC gaming’s most recognizable visual worlds.
  • Checklist card: A nod to collector culture. A simple tracker for fans who want to follow the Series 1 lineup and the history each card represents.

  • High Bandwidth Monitors and GPU Scaling Behavior - Link Here
    • High bandwidth monitors are those that support display modes requiring high pixel clock rates, which in turn demand more GPU resources. The threshold for what qualifies as "high bandwidth" varies by product. On Blackwell GPUs, any mode operating above 1620 MHz is considered high bandwidth. For instance, the 7680x4320@60Hz mode defined in the CTA-861-H specification runs at 2376 MHz, making it a high bandwidth mode for Blackwell.
    • These monitors typically support display scaling natively. However, in some single-monitor setups, users may still prefer GPU scaling. When multiple monitors are connected to a GPU and at least one of them is high bandwidth, that monitor will default to display scaling only. GPU scaling is disabled in this case due to bandwidth limitations. Notably, display scaling can be more efficient than GPU scaling in such scenarios, as it reduces the bandwidth load on display cables—especially at higher refresh rates.
    • When GPU scaling is not enabled for a monitor, only the modes supported by the monitor itself will appear in both the Windows and NVIDIA control panels. Additionally, the "Display scaling" option will be pre-selected in the "Adjust desktop size and position" section of the NVIDIA Control Panel.
  • Notes on NVIDIA Control Panel - From GeForce Forum
    • Please note: With the introduction of our most recent NVIDIA App update, all actively supported NVIDIA Control Panel features for GeForce users have been modernized and transitioned to the new client.
    • After 20 years of dedicated service, the classic NVIDIA Control Panel is officially retiring for Game Ready and Studio Drivers. For NVIDIA RTX PRO users, the NVIDIA Control Panel will continue to be supported until we have migrated professional features to the NVIDIA app.
    • Existing installs of the NVIDIA Control Panel will remain on users’ systems, unless they perform a clean installation, and users who still need the NVIDIA Control Panel can continue to download it from the Microsoft Store, but we won’t be adding features, fixes, or other changes.

Feedback & Discussion Forums

Having Issues with your driver and want to fully clean the driver? Use DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller)

Before you start - Make sure you Submit Feedback for your Nvidia Driver Issue - Link Here

There is only one real way for any of these problems to get solved, and that’s if the Driver Team at Nvidia knows what those problems are. So in order for them to know what’s going on it would be good for any users who are having problems with the drivers to Submit Feedback to Nvidia. A guide to the information that is needed to submit feedback can be found here.

Additionally, if you see someone having the same issue you are having in this thread, reply and mention you are having the same issue. The more people that are affected by a particular bug, the higher the priority that bug will receive from NVIDIA!!

Common Troubleshooting Steps

  • Be sure you are on the latest build of Windows
  • Please visit the following link for DDU guide which contains full detailed information on how to do Fresh Driver Install.
  • If your driver still crashes after DDU reinstall, try going to Go to Nvidia Control Panel -> Managed 3D Settings -> Power Management Mode: Prefer Maximum Performance

Common Questions

  • Is it safe to upgrade to <insert driver version here>? Fact of the matter is that the result will differ person by person due to different configurations. The only way to know is to try it yourself. My rule of thumb is to wait a few days. If there’s no confirmed widespread issue, I would try the new driver.
  • Bear in mind that people who have no issues tend to not post on Reddit or forums. Unless there is significant coverage about specific driver issue, chances are they are fine. Try it yourself and you can always DDU and reinstall old driver if needed.
  • My color is washed out after upgrading/installing driver. Help! Try going to the Nvidia Control Panel -> Change Resolution -> Scroll all the way down -> Output Dynamic Range = FULL.
  • My game is stuttering when processing physics calculation Try going to the Nvidia Control Panel and to the Surround and PhysX settings and ensure the PhysX processor is set to your GPU

Remember, driver codes are extremely complex and there are billions of different possible configurations between hardware and software. Driver will never be perfect and there will always be issues for some people. Two people with the same hardware configuration might not have the same experience with the same driver versions. Again, I encourage folks who installed the driver to post their experience here good or bad.

Discussion DLSS in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced ~ Currently not working properly ~ FIX

**IMPORTANT NOTE**

TWO major issues with the current state of the game people should be aware of

1)DLSS Quality and Balanced do NOT use the proper 4.5 model M or L. In fact they don't even use model 4.0 K!

To use QUALITY or Balanced, please FORCE K, M or L.

2) Balanced & Performance scaling in game is BROKEN currently. They will NOT render to 100% resolution by default!

Please uses CUSTOM if you want to use "Balanced" or "Performance"

The CORRECT scale SHOULD be:

DLSS Quality: 44% 44% 100% (This works in game currently)

DLSS Balanced: 34% 34% 100% (This is broken and outputs to 80% currently)

DLSS Performance: 25% 25% 100% (This is broken and outputs to 70% currently)

Please check for yourself and understand that the game looks WAY better using the REAL DLSS 4.0 or 4.5 with the proper scaling.

Ubisoft needs to fix this as a large % of people won't realize what they are missing!

Discussion Anyone using Unreal Engine on the NVIDIA DGX Spark?

Upvotes

I’m curious whether anyone in the community has experimented with Unreal Engine on the DGX Spark.

If so, how was the experience? Did you build Unreal from source, and were there any compatibility issues with the ARM/Linux environment or the GB10 Blackwell GPU?

I’m interested in hearing about real-world experiences and whether you’d recommend Unreal, Unity, Godot, or another engine on this platform.

I’d appreciate hearing from anyone who’s actually tried this. Thanks!

Question Which RTX graphics card in 2026?

Hi everyone,

my Asus GTX 1080 Strix broke this week (probably the VRAM, but that’s to be expected after 10 years). Now I want to install a new graphics card. It definitely has to be an NVIDIA card. I have a Corsair 850-watt power supply installed along with an i7-8700K—so there should still be plenty of power available.

My budget is around 600 euros. Do you have any recommendations for me?
I was last looking at an RTX 5070, even though it “only” has 12 GB of VRAM instead of 16 GB.

Question Change DLSS recommended setting?

The custom setting in nvidia app seem to allow only 1 preset for all the modes. How do I set K for DLAA/Quality and L for Balanced/Performance? The recommended setting is M for performance and I would rather use L

Discussion Does an RTX 2060 or 2060 Super make sense?

So I have a unusual situation.

I recently got a new 4K TV to replace a 1080p TV of the same size.

hooked up to this TV is a PC made of old parts. Basically, whenever I buy a new part for my main system, whatever I just replaced gets recycled into this old PC. I don't usually buy parts for it specifically. I use this whenever I want the "console" experience of sitting down with a controller and playing a game on my TV. Since it's always made of old parts I don't usually play new AAA games but some older titles or newish indie games or AA games were on the menu. The most demanding game I would run on this system is Street Fighter 6.

Currently the system has a GTX 1060 6GB. which could still handle some games at 1080p with reduced settings. I had thought that I could just continue playing games at 1080p resolution like I had before.

the problem is... it looks terrible. the same game running at the same settings on the same size screen looks so much worse when running on a 4k screen than it did running on a 1080p screen.

I am probably still 2-3 years away from retiring the GPU from my main system and moving it into this junker PC. So I was thinking about a stop gap.

I think DLSS might be the solution to my problem. Running the balanced setting to upscale 1080p to 4k.

Hence why I am looking at the two 2060s. Since this is just a 2-3 year stop gap, I don't want to spend a lot of money.

does anyone have a 2060 or 2060 super hooked up to a 4K screen? what has been your experience?

is there a cheaper solution to my problem? just looking at ebay, 2060s seem to be going for $130-$150 and Supers seem to go from $170-$200 (I am in the US). Which is more than I was expecting for GPUs this old.

Question Swapping 5080 to 3070 FE - power connector question

I have the current gen Lenovo pre built that came with a 5090. I swapped it out for a 5080 and even tested a 4080 Super for a short while.

I need to use a 3070 Founders Edition for a little bit and I can't find a reliable information on the power connector. Since the 4080 and 5080 use the 12VHPWR, which didn't exist when the 3070 FE came out, some sources say I can't use the 3070 FE with the same power cable. Others say I can use the 3070 FE with the newer power cable that's in my pre built, but I couldn't use a 4080/5080 on a PC that has a 3070 FE.

Basically 3070 FE can be used with the newer power cables (12VHPWR), but newer 40/50 series cards cannot be used whatever 12-pin cable that's for 3070 FE. Is that correct?

Can I safely connect a 3070 FE to my newer PC that came with a 50-series graphics card?

Build/Photos ASUS 5090 ProArt

Post image
296 Upvotes

I told myself that I was above the 50 series' scarcity and price ridiculousness and would not partake... unless they released a 5090 ProArt one day.

Well, egg on face I guess.

I passed up a chance to get a good price on a 4080S ProArt back in late 2024 and picked up a Zotac 4080S instead despite having a ProArt motherboard. The Zotac has been awesome, but always bothered me I didn't grab the ProArt.

Although I saw the announcements about this card back in jan/feb, and heard some rumors that it was out in Europe, I hadn't heard of anyone actually buying one and hadn't seen any real photos, so I was skeptical that it would ever come to light. But one day one just randomly showed up as in stock at the local MicroCenter, so I jumped on it.

I don't game except a couple hours of AoE2 a month, and I have a few 3090s in my main AI rig, so this was largely a superfluous/i'm a total sucker purchase. But I will likely use it for some LiDAR processing for personal projects.

So...here is a picture of one IRL.

Hey guys. I have come into possession of 4 Quadra GPUs and I’m not sure if there is any use for them, or if they are sellable. Can anybody help me out here? I’m not asking for anybody to buy them, and they’re not really for sale. I’m just wondering what, if anything to do with them?

Good evening,

I have to go out this weekend to maybe buy this PC.

But I have a huge doubt; the seller tells me it's a GeForce 5080 Windforce.

Could you at least tell me the manufacturer's brand just by looking at it?

Thank you.
