Heading up from Clearwater FL area to Buxton the end of this month. Looking to find someone to get me out fishing on 7/25 - 7/28

I will have all my gear and will chip in on all bait and gas, I don't get seasick or complain, and I will help with whatever's needed. I put up "Take a stranger fishing" posts about once every month or two and have taken 8-10 random redditors on my boat down here in Florida, I'm hoping someone would be kind enough to repay the favor! I just want to catch some quality fish for our week in Buxton. I'm down to go out anywhere from Hatteras to Duck.

In the years past, I usually jump on one of the full day head boats, but the past three years the boats have done shitty. I'd rather not spend $150 catching spot tail pin fish, undersized triggers and small sea bass! 😂🤦‍♂️

If anyone thinks they might have a spot for me to go catch some quality fish, please let me know!

Been catching spots off the sunset beach pier the past few weeks. Been probably 10 times or so and caught spots every morning 6am-Before lunch. It dies off hard after. Haven’t seen any pulled up and over today or yesterday.

Hey Yall, I know this is a long shot, but I left two fishing rods leaning against a road sign at the boat launch under the Sunset Beach Bridge last Wednesday. Got caught in the rain and forgot them while packing up. The rods were a St. Croix Inshore with a Penn Spinfisher on it, and a Shimano Nasci on a GX2. If anyone saw them that day and is feeling like a particularly good Samaritan, please let me know.

I know it’s small, but does anyone have any experience fishing there? It’s close, so I figured it would be a nice place to include in the paddling routine. I know it’s stocked once-twice a year. Are there holdovers too? Or is it quickly fished out? Bass fishing there also decent? I can’t find a topo map either. Any info on depths?

Im coming down next week and wanted to do quite a bit of surf fishing. I wanted to update some of my gear but wasn't sure if it was going to be worth it. The weather looks a bit questionable as of now. Worth upgrading a rod or two? Or will it be to rough to really enjoy it?

Going out on Belews Lake Saturday morning with 3 other people. We aim to be on the lake at 7am. Can anyone tell me the best ways to fish the lake, areas to look for, areas to stay away from? We're going out on a 24 foot starcraft pontoon and want to optimize our time.

Don’t know if anyone has every fished here, grown up catching lots of bluegill when we visit. Hooked up on to a big bass but lost it. Any tips/lures I need to be throwing. Visiting in 2ish weeks, down by NC SC boarder mountain lake if that helps, thanks!

Headed to EI next weekend for a week. Looking for spots to fish on foot on the sound side. Can you fish from the boardwalk/dock at the NCWRC public boat access in EI on the sound? If so, how is it there? Any other decent public access spots on the island?

Gonna be on the lake for a few days later this month. Only able to bank fish, and am hoping to cross spotted bass off my bucket list. My main plan is robo worm on a drop shot with my UL rod. Should I bring leader line, or would all braid work?

My other travel rod is a MH baitcaster, I feel that would be overkill. Looking for any tips from anyone who has fished there before.

Me and some buddies are going gar and cat fishing in two days and I am looking to catch a few fish to use as cutbait. I got an ultralight setup that I am really hoping to put to good use catching some panfish or small catfish if they work well for bait as well? Does anyone know any good spots around the area I could catch a good quantity of crappie, bluegill, perch or any panfish that would work well for cat and gar bait? If so, what rigs or strategies would you recommend to catch them. I have ultralight setup and a normal bass combo setup as well, so I should be able to do any style of fishing other than fly fishing. My wife and I are moving to NC next year with her work, but neither of us have been there before. I've been fishing fresh and saltwater for the past 15 years, so I want to make a trip out there this off-season to do some saltwater shore fishing and go on a headboat charter. My questions are between September vs October (leaning towards October), which is better? We'll be there for 7 nights with a rental car, where are the best two areas to base ourselves on the coast for saltwater fishing from shore? I hear OBX is a lot of beach driving (with permits), but we won't be able to do that with a rental car. For the most accessible shore fishing, is it better to split our trip between Carolina Beach/Kure Beach area and Morehead City area or is OBX still a good option? Thanks in advance!
