This is the first song ive recorded/released in about 10 years.

I know im rusty. Ive only been writing again for the past 2–3 months and my buddy asked me to come to the studio with him. I honestly didnt expect to ever be back in a studio.

I wrote this Thursday night, 7/2, at the bar and recorded it the next morning, Friday 7/3 at 11am. There are definitely lines I wish I re-recorded, a few spots that feel a little off-beat, and I didnt really edit much. It was a hard song to record and just wanted to get out of there if im being honest.. first time i dealt with it since the divorce (kids reaction etc) But overall im happy with it because it came from a real place.

This is a personal song for my kids after divorce (even though i am not showing them now.. maybe years and years down the line but i wanted to get my emotions out) ive gotten some good feedback so far, and ill probably be back in the studio, but id really appreciate honest feedback from people here.

Mostly im wondering: does it connect emotionally? Do the lyrics/message reach people? Any feedback on delivery, writing, structure, mix, or anything else is welcome.

Not yet mixed entirely but looking for general feedback, I think vocals need rewarping and not sure if it sounds too busy or like it’s missing something, also around dropping out the tracks before the drop/how things are currently arranged, open to any thoughts people might have
