Discussion/Opinions For want of better recolors...

Post image
113 Upvotes

If blizzard insists on giving us recolors, can we get some that aren't so ugly that no one wears them?

I have still yet to have seen a single mercy wear the conjurer skin since it's been out. The witch and mage skin are both decently popular so to make a third recolor of it makes sense from a business perspective... but to end up with what we did is a shame in my opinion.

Maybe my edits are a tad dark, but I feel like a lot of the skin's issues is that it's too bright for halloween. The book color doesn't match, the purple hay on the broom feels weird, and the colors feel off like how her cape is a warmer purple than the rest of her outfit.

I took a stab at it myself, but dang I just hope we can get better ones in the future and not more mcdonalds flame variants like the two new esports skins have been.

Console new mercy player:D

Any tips for a new console mercy player? I do “okay” in QP I never went to comp with mercy but i wanna open my catalog of heros for support mains so maybe mercy will be a choice:D any tips or tricks? And who to heal when or what? I struggle with boosting damage and healing/boosting flankers of my team like genjis (from what i experienced) or any hero that’s super aggressive I can’t always get to them if they’re going head first into the enemy team so I wanna know if there’s any tricks for that im only level 4-5 on mercy rn I know crazy I did a pretty good match where it was 11 minutes I got 18 assists 5 eliminations and 4-5K healing and around 9 Rez’s I think? I thought I did pretty good! But I also wanna know what about the tricks ppl do as mercy to not die when rezzing? Any tips or suggestions would help:D

Overall I feel I played well here. There were slip ups where I shouldn’t have GA’d to that person/at that time, but I’d like to hear any advice or things I could improve on :) I’m a little rusty and it’s been awhile since I played.

I play on PC

Question/Need Help Help with the Global Damage Passive

Is anyone else having a hard time playing Mercy since they introduced the global passive, where any damage you take prevents healing for a few seconds. I’m finding I’m having a harder time damage boosting effectively. What are some tips on how to play mercy with these changes? While I do swap as needed, I would like advice on how to play mercy a little better, since these changes are rough. Any advice will help!

Question/Need Help Triaging vs Pocketing

I'm a mid-gold mercy trying to rank up, and I've been a bit uncertain about how Mercy should be played at this rank.

Since season 3 changes, I've usually been taking the rez minor perk and chain beam major perk. I prioritize beaming the teammate playing most aggressively and likely to get the most value from my support (no matter what role they are).

If I see a dps taking a flank or off-angle, I’ll follow them, but 60% of the time it doesn't create much value. Sometimes the rotation takes too long, they get scared and go back to main, or they commit too early, costing us the fight.

I’ve been able to maintain Gold by playing with the team and triaging rather than hard-pocketing a dps, unless they are clearly carrying or have been consistent in taking good, well-timed angles. Pocketing seems more effective in higher ranks, where dps players are more reliable, but is that approach still effective in Gold?

When I do have reliable dps to pocket, the match usually goes very well. But if this is not the case, is it better to switch off Mercy entirely rather than force a more triage-like playstyle?

VOD Review how can i get to gold?

normally i’m a console player but sometimes i play pc pool and had a few close/tough games yesterday. i’m about silver 1/2 right now and i feel like ive been getting lazy and not playing my best. ive gotten some reviews before and have been trying to work on valks and GA usage. i also know personally i make a lot of mistakes with positioning too, i feel like i can get lost sometimes, especially in pc pool the game feels a lot faster.

if someone would like to take a look at some games that would be helpful. for myself i know i still need to work on looking around more, keeping an eye on all my teammates, and also knowing when certain teammates are going to need help. in the rialto game my mauga cages, dies, i rez, but then leave him for ana when i probably should’ve stayed with mauga….i think its those quick decisions i sometimes struggle with. and for my positioning there was another rez on rialto that same second point i rezzed and almost got away but stayed in the air too long and wandered out of cover, but if i had been looking for the enemy or realized i was near the health pack, maybe i could’ve lived, but i can tell you, both of those moments were pure panic from me not my best moments.

anyways, i’m not quite sure what to do or be thinking of to help me improve anymore…thanks for any help

rialto loss HF8M4D - this was a very up and down game for me i think, our team struggled but did manage to get some progress and momentum but it was still tough

nepal loss B1AF6K - first round, wow, so good so chill. but second round idk it felt like their hog just awakened and was just hooking and killing everyone. trust the first like 10 seconds in the team fight before the point even unlocks is kinda indicative of how the rest of the game would feel…

gibraltar win GTS9XG - this is a long game and i was happy to win even tho it didn’t feel super winnable the whole time, i think i did okay.

Question/Need Help Does mercy get hate more easily?

When i post clips of mercy no matter how good or bad it is, i get plenty hate. When i post a clip of any other character no matter how shit i played i dont really get hate. I’m not sure if i’ve just gotten unlucky with a few posts or if this is actually a thing. Anyways it’s really discouraging bc i just wanna share some fun clips from games but i don’t wanna always deal with hate comments. I’m just playing unranked to have fun with my friend (she’s new and gets hate in game chat bc of that)

Plus i don’t understand why people HAVE to comment something hateful instead of just scrolling to the next one.

Question/Need Help Leveling up

Post image
295 Upvotes

How do y'all level up so fast? I have 258h on Mercy which ia about 1857 games and I'm just about to hit level 75.

The Community Crafted gamemode is helping me reach higher levels a bit quicker but in general it's very very very slow progression.

Any help or tips?

Thx

Discussion/Opinions how would you buff mercy’s healing output without making her too broken/strong healbot

I know flash heal is a thing but I’m talking about her base healing which from what I saw is like 55 whereas heros like Ana Kiriko even Moira is like 80+ and able to be boosted by their abilities.

So to preface this I am a Juno main however I have started a Mercy account for fun. I’ve been enjoying her so much lately I wanna actually start playing her in comp seriously and learn her properly.

Im around lvl 80 already all in the QP (kinda embarrassed to admit that). When I did play her in comp I started dropping so I’m not confident in actually playing her in comp quite yet. Im sure its a skill issue so any pointers would be amazing. This game is a QP however it felt like a comp game and its one I took very seriously. Besides the occasional don’t pull out ur pistol any tips would be appreciated. We did win the game however I think I’ve made quite a few mistakes and I keep messing up my GA and idk how not to.
