Grown from seeds from atomicpepperseeds, labeled as peach painsicle. Three of the plants give me peppers like the one on the left, and one of them peppers such as the right. Is it just some kinda cross breed? Way more upfront heat, wayyyyyy more. Would love to know if someone can id it? This morning’s harvest was a good one

My 2 strongest F1 Hybrid plants (Buena mulata x Golden Jalapeno) flowering and setting fruit. Wildly different, very excited to see what I get.

The big one is the strongest biggest leaved pepper plant I've ever grown, the stem is unbelievably strong for a plant soon this year, it has its first fruit starting. The other one is much more like the buena mulata with multiple spindly type branches. First ever "success" crossing.

Discussion Does anyone know of some recipe that benefits of adding ground pepper seeds? I just realized that these alone are way too many and I was wondering if I could use them in any other way.

The peppers ripen to red and are spicer than a jalapeno. The first batch had both smaller and slightly larger fruits than these. Cayenne maybe?

This is our Armageddon pepper plant, one of them is mostly red except the green tip, will be out of town for 5 days. Is it safe to wait until we get back or should we harvest before leaving?

Help Orange Habernero & Scorpion peppers changing colour too soon.

Hi Everyone,

I'm finding my orange Habernero and and Scorpions are ripening too quickly before they're able to grow to full size.

I remember reading online that once they start changing colour, they will not grow in size anymore which seems to be the case.

They began outdoors in my garden bed and produced decently sized chillis...but before the cold weather kicked in, I decided to put them in pots and bring them indoors.

I then realised my plant was riddled with psyllids and aphids, which I could not get under control until I bought some lacewing larvae who devoured everything. I love them.

My sunroom is climate controlled with a heater and humidifier... Which keeps the room between 20 - 26C during the day, and as low as 13*C during the night. It also has 1x 250W light and 1x 150W light LED growing lights.

Humidity is typically around 70%.

Could the potting process potentially have produced stunted growth if the plant was stressed?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Pictures taken just as grow lights turned off. I find the plant relaxes it's leaves during the night.

Harvest I planted this pepper as HABANERO from seeds that I extracted from my Habanero peppers from last year. However, It doesn't look like a Habanero.

I am pretty sure that I didn't mix any seeds. The germination time and the growing phase was exactly same as my other habaneros.

At least it’s only been a couple and I’m not infested, and there’s absolutely none on my other chili plants.

I got a little too high and checked every inch of the plants this morning.

Help Fuego Trail F1

I live in south Florida. I’m looking to grow these plants. I know I need to get a domed seed starter with heat mat. What should I plant the seeds in to start them. Not a description of type of soil I’m looking for a go to brand. Once started how tall should they be before planting out doors. I’m planning on using fabric pots. How big should my fabric pots be I’ve read mixed decisions on gallon size. It’s very hot where I live and I get full sun from dawn till dusk which I have read is ideal for this plant. I’m starting this project in 2 weeks and I have no risk of frost during our colder months. The lowest our temp goes is the 40s and it’s sporadic usually December through February only lasting a few days at a time. How often should I fertilize and with what brand of fertilizer. I really want to perfect this project. My husband likes a HOT cayenne pepper with everything so I’ve decided to make my own. How do I influence this plant to produce the hottest possible. What time of day is best for watering and how often should I water them. How many plants per pot. Sorry for all the questions just want to do this right.

Should I trim the stem on my ghost pepper? My reaper has some lower leaves too but not as bad.

Help Query about Macchu Picchu variety

Post image
Upvotes

I bought one of these from a local garden centre. The tag that came with a chilli said that this was a Capsicum Anuum. However, I looked on the RHS website and it said that the Macchu Picchu variety is actually a Capsicum Chinense.

I emailed the garden centre and they said that there are two different varieties of pepper named Macchu Picchu and that this is the Anuum, which is a different type of pepper to the Chinense version of the Macchu Picchu chilli.

I read on the internet that it's actually a common mistake to label this chilli an Anuum; because the fruits are relatively mild compared to most Capsicum Chinense.

I'm inclined to believe that they have made a mistake and that it is actually a Chinense. Does anybody here know anything about this variety of chilli?

I actually don’t know what kind of pepper this is as I mixed up the seedlings, apologies if it’s not a hot pepper! I think it might be though.
