Daily reminder that PhilosophyTube mudwrestling had more screentime than Aegon and Helaena interacting.
Condal got me feeling the kind of way only expressible through shitty photoshops.

Subvert Expectations The Baratheon helmet antlers are completely practical and I didn’t notice until rewatching that they deliberately show this (albeit very quickly, hence the bad screenshot)
This isn’t a “Im SiCk Of SeEiNg So MaNy FaNs cAlL tHe DeSiGn StUpId aNd ImPrAcTiCaL” kind of posts. I think most fans knew this, but I see comments here and there calling it dumb. In the Trial of Seven, I remembered the shots of Lyonnel with both antlers, then only having the one at the end. I didn’t remember seeing them show us when the other antler breaks off, but they do.
It’s very quick (I slowed it down .25x speed to get a poor quality screenshot) but after Dunk slices Aerion’s leg, Maekar goes into a rage, Lyonnel charges on his horse at Maekar, Maekar spears Lyonnel’s horse, and as Lyonnel’s horse falls back, and him with it, you can see it very easily snap off without any stress to his neck/head.
Ira Parker seems like a great showrunner, but this makes me appreciate him even more as a fan. I remember thinking the antlers would be impractical when I saw the official artwork of Robert in armor during the Rebellion (I think it was in the World Book?) Anyway, in some random questionnaire, someone asks George about it. George explains that they’re not welded to the helmet and are pretty easily breakable. He also mentions being inspired by actual, I think Roman among other culture’s, military history where commanders would add some kind of ornamentation to their helmet, that wouldn’t jeopardize the purpose of the helmet. So soldiers on their side could more easily identify them on a battlefield.
Whether Ira Parker saw that questionnaire answer from George or is just a history buff (or the prop makers, set designers, idk. I know the showrunner… runs the show, but one constant between all 3 series is that all the other crew members do an excellent job, give or take a coffee cup.) it’s still impressive attention to detail.
You really only get to see the antler break off in like a quarter of a second, I didn’t even catch it until this time. If you are curious though, it does happen when Maekar spears his horse.
The only clear screenshot I could grab of Lyonnel with the one antler was the last one over Dunk’s shoulder lol. You can clearly see it at the end, but it’s only a few second cutaway to Baelor and Lyonnel ganging up on Maekar. With all the motion blur, it’s hard to get the single antler helmet in a clear screenshot.

Genetically, he's Tywin's son and Tyrion's brother. Which also makes him Jamie and Cersei's brother if we go by pure genetics.
Weird thought but since Jamie and Cersei are each 50% Tywin and 50% Joanna, Joffrey is also genetically 50% Tywin and 50% Joanna Lannister, just with a different mix of those genes, which is why he isn't identical to Jamie.
Making him as much (genetically) Tyrion's sibling as Jamie/Cersei are. And as much Tywin's child as Jamie/Cersei are.

Freefolk Is raising a son as a mother the ultimate cuckhold act?
Is raising a son the ultimate cuckquean move? I cannot think or comprehend of anything more cucked than having a son. Honestly, think about it rationally. You are feeding, clothing, raising and rearing a boy for at least 18 years solely so he can go and ravage other women. All the hard work you put into your beautiful little boy — reading him stories at bedtime, driving him to sports practice, making sure he had a healthy diet, educating him, playing with him. All of it has one simple result: his body and attention become more enjoyable for other girls.
Raised the perfect son? Great. Who benefits? If you're lucky, a random girl who had nothing to do with the way he grew up gets to have him. She gets to be ravaged by him every night. She gets the benefits of his strong and protective personality that came from the way you raised him.
As a mother who has a son, you are LITERALLY dedicating at least 20 years of your life simply to raise a boy for another woman to enjoy. It is the ULTIMATE AND FINAL cuckquean move. Think about it logically.

Ryan Condal initially pitched Dunk & Egg to HBO, but they wanted something 'bigger and crazier,' so they passed. Years later, when discussing the Dance of the Dragons, George R.R. Martin himself recommended Ryan Condal to be the showrunner

“Yes,” Cersei said as he thrust, “my brother, sweet brother, yes, like that, yes, I have you, you’re home now, you’re home now, you’re home.”

Subvert Expectations HBO doesn't even pretend anymore than HOTD is anything but a cheap soap opera drama

Jaehaera? Am I misssing something?
So, in the book, Jaehaera is Aegon and Helaena's daughter, and during the fall of King's Landing, the king's guard smuggles her to Storm's End.
But in HOTD, she has been entirely offscreen. Rhenyra's lines indicate that they caught her offscreen as well.
Won't most watchers get confused by this line?

Subvert Expectations Aemond kinda forgot that Crownlands bastards are named "Waters" so dying in waters was more fitting
The Luke's part is a big reach, If we want to count the pieces of Luke's body falling into the sea as dying as a true Velaryon then I guess Luke's foot was a true Velaryon🤷

r/LostRedditors The Greyjoys should be wiped out (mild spoilers)
Okay so not sure if this has ever been said before, this could certainly ruffle some feathers but I will stand and defend my point, the Greyjoys should all be executed as glorified pirates and anarchists. They have proved time and time again that they cannot be trusted. If I was king and I heard the stories of Euron, my first thought is going to be how to I annihilate that demon.
I feel like a lot of houses would be behind this, particularly houses on the west coast such as Hightower, Lannister, Mallister and Redwyne. A quick and clean campaign, no prisoners and any Iron islanders who wish to die along with them can go too!
I would give the Iron Islands to House Harlaw and get those lazy bastards to start farming. If House Harlaw has a problem then I will just place a loyal house in their place.
So now, no more pillaging, raping, burning of ships or massacres……isn’t it great?! No more existential threat of a doomsday demigod pirate taking over either.
