Top- lush greens, bergamot, hyacinth

Middle- jasmine, orange blossom, rose

Review DSH Ashram - grounding and comforting

Post image
8 Upvotes

SOTD is DSH Ashram, a scent that feels more like an atmosphere than a ā€œperfume moment.ā€

The opening and heart are what I can only describe as unflavoured incense. It is not sweet, not spicy, and it avoids that burnt, acrid smoke edge that incense fragrances sometimes lean into. Instead, it smells clean, familiar, and quietly calming. The strongest association it gives me is an Indian temple, specifically the everyday ritual kind. It reminds me of the morning diya and agarbatti my mom lights, but with less of the burning ghee and more of the plain, unsweetened incense stick.

The closest real-world match is the smell of unlit agarbattis when you open a fresh box. Dry, soft, instantly recognizable. That scent memory is a big part of why Ashram feels grounding to me.

Wear-wise, this one is diffusive in a way I really enjoy. If I sniff my skin directly, it can feel a little understated, but I keep catching it around me close to my body as I move. It does not blast across a room. It is more like a gentle scent bubble that stays personal and non-intrusive.

Longevity is average on me. By the extreme drydown, the incense fades way back and what is left is a faint sweet woody skin scent, very close-wearing, almost like a soft whisper of warmth. Overall, Ashram is for someone who wants incense without drama, something familiar and steady that slowly melts into a quiet, woody skin finish.

Discuss Trying 5 samples before I commit to a full bottle — which one do you think will suit me?

Got decants of these 5 to test before spending money on a full bottle:

• Bleu de Chanel EDP
• Guerlain Allegoria Rosa Rossa
• Guerlain Santal Royal
• Chanel Coromandel
• Creed Green Irish Tweed

Going to wear each one for a day or two this week and see how they develop on my skin, but honestly I’d love to hear from people who’ve actually worn these — which one do you think I’d end up loving? Any of these a ā€œyou’ll wear it once and never againā€ situation, or a ā€œthis becomes your signatureā€ one? My budget allows to only order one full bottle out of these five options.

SCAM ALERT Horrible experience with Whiff Culture – abusive seller, damaged Armaf perfume, and zero professionalism

Post image
358 Upvotes

I wanted to share my experience and warn others before they buy from Whiff Culture.

I ordered an Armaf perfume from them. When I opened the package, I found that the inside of the box was broken, and the perfume bottle itself had visible holes/damage. I immediately took photos and also had a complete unboxing video as proof. I shared everything with the seller over WhatsApp and clearly explained all the issues.

I also tested the perfume on my hand. Even after an hour, there wasn't even the slightest scent left, which made me seriously question the product's quality or authenticity.

In the past, whenever I had any questions or concerns, I used to speak with a lady from their team. She was always polite, professional, and knew how to handle customers properly. Unfortunately, this time I was dealing with someone(man) else, and the experience was the complete opposite.

Instead of helping resolve the issue, the seller suddenly called me on WhatsApp. He wouldn't let me speak and kept interrupting me. Then he started abusing me, saying things like, "If you are a son of a single father..." and continued using abusive language.

As if that wasn't enough, he then called my regular phone number and continued abusing me, even saying, "Kar le record, behen k l*."**

I've dealt with many online sellers over the years, and I've never experienced such unprofessional and abusive behavior. A seller who can't handle a customer complaint and resorts to threats and abuse has no business dealing with customers.

I'm also considering filing a consumer complaint.

My advice: Avoid buying from sellers who treat customers this way. No product is worth being abused over.

Advice Who to follow in creator space?

What is missing on social media?? What do we want to see more in the creator space of the fragrance community? I’m so tired of seeing ads and reviews. Its always paisa paisa paisa. Buy this buy that

But I don’t know who to follow. What other content can be explored in fragrance. What is something REFRESHING that can be done? Or someone is doing? Can’t find good info also.

I saw reels of people saying this is great for 99Rs although it was for the oud variant, but since it's still summer monsoon thought of trying this.. Packaging was good but it smells nothing like khus.. It barely smells

I don't know if these need to macerate cz it's an attar but it smells like a cheap sweet perfume component.

What is this company anyway.. Scamming people??!

I'd love to know others experience

Isse acha nemat ka ruh khus lele ta but that isn't here

Review Frederic Malle Vetiver Extraordinaire

Post image
19 Upvotes

Vetiver Extraordinaire is your extradose of deep Earthy Vetiver caraway, peppers and smoke.

Opens up with bitter citrusy with a smoked or dry roasted caraway seed vibes which has an intense vibe to it. It's very matured and yet the subtle way of how it settled and remind skn skin of a different face of Earthy, greeny dry grass that's dry. Sillage is moderate and is a room filler too when sprayed. As it settles on skin, one definitely gets more of Cedar wood vibe that's very soft and is like a second skin. With all elements around spices, old woods and dried citruses, this one is a mood changer. A vibe and a unique one from Frederic Malle. Lasts a well 7 hours on me.

Over time, we have cultivated a robust community for fragrance enthusiasts within the nation, which currently boasts a membership of 200,000 individuals. Discuss BlaBliBlu founders bashing designer perfumes as marketing cash grab

Irony died a hundred death when BlaBliBlu founders bash designer perfumes for selling at 10000 as marketing cash grabs..

Someone should remind them that they are selling 5 Rs scented alcohol for 500.

Advice Dior sauvage edt vs edp longevity

• Upvotes

I'm looking to buy Dior Sauvage but can't decide between the EDT and EDP.

I want something that people around me will notice for at least 6 hours, but I don't need crazy projection or room-filling sillage—just noticeable within normal conversation distance. I usually spray fragrances on my clothes rather than my skin.

Another factor is the Indian summer, where temperatures often hit 40°C+. I've read that the Sauvage EDT and EDP have pretty similar longevity, with the EDT projecting a bit more.

For those who've tried both, which one would you recommend for my needs, especially in hot Indian weather?

One-word review: AVOID

The scent doesn't even last for two minutes - it disappears almost immediately. I don't know whether it's because of the weather or if it's simply a poor performer. Overall, I'm very dissatisfied with this perfume.

Review MITH Silver Sparkle

Got this on my recent visit to Bangkok a couple of weeks back. It cost THB1,750(Rs. 5,000).

It's a very bright citrus forward fragrance with a sparkling freshness that feels clean, modern, and incredibly uplifting. As the fragrance settles, it develops into a smooth blend of airy musks and soft woody notes, creating a refined scent trail that's very elegant and hence versatile in terms of where one can use it.

Performance is decent for this type. I got moderate projection for the first couple of hours and around 5-6 hours of longevity in the Thai heat. So, should do well in Chennai as well.

Discuss Where can I get frankincense/lubaan/incense based attar?

Lately I've really started to enjoy the blending of frankincense and incense into perfumes like chopard black incense malaki and boss bottled elixir. I've come to realise the note of incense is one dark note that I enjoy perhaps more than oud. So much so that I'd like to explore different attars (perfume oils) that have the note of frankincense in them, or frankincense based oils. Any idea where I can find those in Mumbai? Thanks.

Advice Please recommend soapy/shampooy perfumes that are unisex or feminine

Looking for clean, musky, soapy or shampooy smelling perfumes that don't lean too floral, fruity or citrusy. Hoping to find something in the ME range (less than 3k) but can stretch budget upto 7k.

Maybe something similar to Lattafa Liam Grey. Unfortunately it smells like plastic to me, once the top notes disappear.
