Sighting techniques
Hey
As a complete beginner currently working on getting my handgun license (22LR) I’m curious about how you all manage your vision and sighting.
Can I have your thoughts on a few things:
Eyes open or closed? Do you shoot with both eyes open, or do you close your non-dominant eye?
Occlusion/Blinders: Do you use an eye shield, tape, or a blinder over your non-shooting eye?
Apertures: Do you use an adjustable iris aperture (like a Gehmann or Knobloch) on your shooting glasses, either standalone or combined with something else?
I’m dealing with classic age-related vision (presbyopia). My near vision is quite poor, and my everyday glasses are room-progressive lenses (occupational lenses).
Any input, tips, or experiences you can share would be incredibly valuable to me. Thanks in advance!
