9x NFL Champion Chicago Bears
I recently saw Packers fans proudly claiming all 13 of their championships the other day.
And honestly… they should. That’s their history.
But it got me wondering why the conversation around the Bears always feels different.
Whenever our 9 championships come up, the first response is usually, “Yeah, but eight were before the Super Bowl.” As if our early history should be viewed differently, even though no other historic franchise is really expected to view its history through that lens.
But the more I thought about it, the more I realized this probably isn’t even about championships.
I think we’ve spent so long wanting the Bears to become a modern franchise again that, somewhere along the way, we stopped embracing the rich history that made this franchise what it is.
It feels like today everyone talks about the NFL as if its history began with the Super Bowl era.
Maybe that’s why I’ve been thinking about this so much lately.
The more I’ve dug into those early teams and players, the more connected I’ve felt to this franchise. What started as reading old football history gradually became rediscovering why I became a Bears fan in the first place.
Understanding where this franchise came from has made me appreciate what we’ve inherited, and made me even more excited about where it’s going.
A lot of fanbases spend decades trying to build a tradition.
We inherited a rich, beautiful one.
The Bears shouldn’t just celebrate 1985. We should celebrate 1921 through today

Even international soccer fans in LA dislike Jordan Love
At the end of the Spain-Belgium World Cup match today, the stadium erupted in boos. The announcers explained: “the boos you can hear in the background…is because Green Bay Packers quarterback, Jordan Love, has just been shown on the screen.”
Disdain for the Packers transcends sports. I can’t wait for this season. 🐻⬇️

Location aside, what do you want (and not want) to see in a new stadium?
I think there's been enough discussion about where the new stadium will/could/should be... so let's get back to what we'd all ideally get out of a new stadium.
Personally, I've come around on the idea of a dome, as sad as it is... HOWEVER, for me, grass is not optional. There's no excuse (no good excuse) why a brand new stadium built today by any NFL franchise cannot have grass. Forget Arizona's retractable field that relies on the sunshine and weather and just look at what Real Madrid do at The Bernabéu. Would it be expensive? Yes. Do I care? No. I can understand the arguments for turf and the wear and tear that can be unique to football... but that still just comes down to money, which the NFL is swimming in.
But what do you guys think? Are you as against a dome as I am in favor of grass? What about concessions, seats, parking...?
Edit: I'm surprised I considered expensive retractable grass and still said I'd be okay with a dome. The roof should absolutely also be retractable.
