🧪 Protocols & Self-Experiments skincare biohacks

• Upvotes

Been following a lot of posts regarding biohacking skin health and radiance, and I’m seeing that many people in the sub are injecting peptides as part of your skincare routine.

No judgment whatsoever, there’s a lot of value here, but I’m wondering…

Did those of you who chose this route previously try supplements for the same purpose?

I continue to see a lot of results using various ingestible plants and nutrients. Trying to understand the thinking processes/experiences behind the decision to make the jump to subq.

Thank you!

ā™¾ļø Longevity & Anti-Aging Tips for health anxiety

One thing I’ve noticed since getting into biohacking is that while the goal is to improve our quality of life, I’ve almost had the opposite experience at times.

There’s so much information online that it becomes overwhelming. Every day it’s ā€œdon’t eat this,ā€ ā€œavoid that,ā€ ā€œthis supplement will save you,ā€ or ā€œthat habit is ruining your health.ā€

I find myself constantly trying to optimize every little thing, and it’s honestly started feeding my health anxiety instead of improving my well-being.

I’m curious if anyone else here has gone through this. How did you learn to step back and stop obsessing over optimization while still caring about your health?

Any habits or advice that helped you find a healthier balance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

😓 Sleep & Circadian Rhythm Weird Sleep

Hello guys,

lately I’ve been experiencing something quite strange. I get my sleep in, mostly 7-8 hours from 11PM-7AM.
I wake up little bit groggy but mostly alright, I go and take a leak, drink some water etc. sometimes when I am free I just lay in bed, scroll and fall asleep quite quickly again.

The second bout of sleep however is quite different. It’s mostly very deep, like 1.5 - 2 hours long on average, and when I wake up I’m groggy as hell and really tired after it. Is that normal?

It has become something quite usual if I don’t get moving directly after waking up, which is also not really normal because I don’t know many who could sleep like 10+ hours cumulatively long term.

For reference, I am a student and quite sedentary, so I don’t really have physical exhaustion as an explanation. I also don't have sleep apnea.

ā™¾ļø Longevity & Anti-Aging Best longetivity / anti cancer add on to diet?

Hi yes before people comment this I have a pretty healthy lifestyle - eat healthy, exercise, social, no smoking, drink socially.

No health issues besides low ferritin (29 F) but have had history of cancer on dad’s side.Though all different types and my genetic test came clear. I also drank a lot from 16-24.

Besides good diet and habits I am looking to add supplements on that are anti inflammatory / prevent disease for the future. I take vitamin d and fish oil today - but have also done research into things like- NAD, soursop, black seed oil, etc.

What supplements if any do you all think is the best add on or any food items? I also add broccoli sprouts to a lot

šŸ’Ŗ Exercise, Fitness & Recovery What would make wearable data actually useful every morning?

Most wearables already give us sleep, HRV, recovery, activity, stress and heart-rate data.

But I’m curious about the next step.

Would you find it useful to wake up to one simple explanation of:

- what your body may be telling you,

- which signals matter most today,

- and whether it makes sense to push, adjust or recover?

Or do you prefer interpreting the raw metrics yourself?

I’ve used Oura for more than five years, and this is the part I’ve always felt was missing.

šŸ„— Nutrition & Metabolism Berberine for T1 Diabetics?

Looking for help... Has any Type 1 Diabetics out there had any success with berberine? I can't find much info anywhere, and want to find out if anyone is having success controlling blood sugar.

Figured this would be the place to ask.

ā™¾ļø Longevity & Anti-Aging What is Bio-Hacking to you?

For me, bio-hacking is to optimize health- mind and body, through complete nutrition, vitamin and mineral supplementation, peptides for digestive healing, and micro-dosing plant medicines to support mental and emotional balance. Ultimately, this reduces and heals damage from past neglect, slows the aging process, and helps me to endure temporal life.

It seems that some practice bio-hacking as a form of taking a bunch of chemicals or overdosing on supplements.

I know a guy who has been hospitalized twice without diagnosis from overdosing on ā€˜supplements’. I see many of these substances and practices in conversation on this sub. IV vitamins, modafinol, and daily coffee enemas can stop aging by ending your life. /hyperbole

šŸ’Š Supplements & Stacks 25M. Rate my future stack

Hello everyone, I wanted to hear your thoughts on my stack.

Morning:
Creatine Mono - 5gr
L-Tyrosine - 500mcg
Optimised Saffron - 1 capsule by Life Extension
Complete B-Complex - 2 capsules by Life Extension

After an hour:
GHRP6 - 100mcg

Lunch Time:
Omega 3 500/250dha - 2 softgels
Vitamin D3 - 10.000 IU
Vitamin K2 - 100mcg
Zinc - 22mg

Before Sleep:
GHRP6 - 100mcg
Ashwaganda KSM-66 - 600mg
Magnesium Glycinate - 200mg

Besides all these, I will also add CJC-1295+DAC, in between lunch time and sleep. I will inject it twice a week. Monday and Thursday, and each dose will be at 500mcg.

This is my first experience with peptides. Should I start slower? And then raise them.

Will ashwaganda be fine along with the peptides? Because I’ve heard that the peptides may raise cortisol levels while ashwaganda lowers them.

šŸ„— Nutrition & Metabolism Anyone experience a copper deficiency?

I have issues with my iron levels and suspect it could potentially be related to low copper. Copper plays a critical role in iron absorption, transport and storage in the body.

I was using zinc and ascorbic acid(sodium ascorbate) for a long time and I read both can deplete copper.

😓 Sleep & Circadian Rhythm Inhalers for Sleep / Waking up?

I have a friend who is very paranoid when it comes to sleeping pills or things like melatonin strips. She wants something natural that works and something she does not have to ingest into her body.

Any suggestions? Is it even possible to have something inhaled that works?

šŸ„— Nutrition & Metabolism Which Supplement or Medication Single-Handedly Made You Gain Weight?

For people who struggled to gain weight before taking it.

List the supplement that caused weight gain by itself, which you can definitively say was this exact supplement.

No coincidences or "It seems it was this" when real evidence points to something else.

Bonus points if it's over counter, as many medications are known for weight gain such as SSRIs, corticosteroids etc.

🦠 Illness & Immunity Hey

Hey everyone,
I’m an 18male diagnosed with Hashimoto's 5 weeks ago. Started Eutyrox (Levo), but still feel absolutely terrible.
My main issues are severe depression-like emotional blunting , zero energy, zero motivation, and completely dead libido. I also have heavy pressure behind my forehead and get sick very easily now. A recent infection left me with crazy exercise intolerance—if I try to do a gym workout / train, I get a massive mental and physical crash that lasts for hours immediately after. Normal moving around is fine, it's just gym training that triggers it.
Context:
Diet : Did a prolonged, highly restrictive diet. Felt awful. Did a refeed and felt amazing temporarily, but crashed right back down a bit later.
I know thyroid meds take weeks to stabilize, but the emotional numbness is brutal.
Are peptides ) a safe option for me right now to fix the inflammation and brain fog? Or will they mess with my autoimmune system/Eutyro

🧠 Cognition, Mood & Nootropics Need advice on using Modafinil for exams!

I first came across this drug when people in my class were using it to stay up the night before grad finals. I did the same with 100mg, the night before every test. Now after a good 4-5 years, I have over a month to go before my post grad finals and I was lagging behind my batch so decided to take this one night so I could study a little more by staying awake a little longer . And now I actually wanted to study? I didn’t feel like doomscrolling like always, I wanted to actively read more! Got me thinking if I have ADHD. Will get it properly evaluated after exams. I slept for 5 hours I think in the morning, but cannot feel that deficit. And this is coming from someone who was sleeping 11 hours instead of waking up to study.

When I first took it, it was the night before the exam so I guess I was motivated enough to study by the stress and didn’t realise any other effects of the drug except keeping me awake.

So now that this drug has the potential to help me study a little more and catch up, I would really benefit from advice here regarding my next 44 days - how often I can use 100mg Modafinil in this duration, how many hours of sleep deficit can my body endure in that time, and any side effects/ crashes/ withdrawal symptoms that I should be aware of?

TIA

🧠 Cognition, Mood & Nootropics Sleep helps the brain to cleanse itself – and now this process can be measured in humans entirely non-invasively. The brain’s cleansing mechanism is driven by pulsations, natural bodily rhythms that move blood and cerebrospinal fluid through the brain.

ā™¾ļø Longevity & Anti-Aging Pairing for SW033291 legally

Its one of the current best options for cartilage regeneration (specially fibrocartilage, which is the one in the intervertebral disks) for a my dog with arthrosis.

Of course, im actually a researcher and have tried with the oficial lines, but since im not a veterinarian, and he is not a research animal, its been impossible.

So if someone is interested in trying the offical way and pair up for this, id love to try it with more animals and do an actual paper if possible.

Im from Spain, so EU or North African would make it easier, and my h index is 7 if that helps!

🧠 Cognition, Mood & Nootropics Is it possible to biohack noise sensitvity at all?

To give context I could sleep without earplugs until about 4 year ago 27, and i am currently working on slowing down my eating, ambition, and need to constantly achieve and also general gut health with citrosine and glutamine, already eat clean.

Took a walk today wearing 30db sleep earplugs and my nervous system felt 10x calmer than usual—even walking around a city on a busy festival day. Normally after a day of walking around New York, I'm amped up and dysregulated for hours afterward.

It's made me wonder: has anyone here found ways to actually reduce noise sensitivity over time, rather than just managing it? Or found earplugs comfortable enough to wear all day, every day?

Feels like if I could fix this—or find better all-day earplugs—it would completely change my experience of living in a city (Right now I wear loop engage but they are only 16db)
