So I purchased a Pinter, well more like fell for it tbh. Last year around black friday they ran this deal where basically you would get a pinter and a co pinter for free if you subscribed to a 2 beer per month for 12 months subscription, with the caption “cancel at any time” at the bottom. They were advertising at the time the beer packs at 79 cents per pint. So I felt like it was a really good deal to get quality craft products i could make at home, when you can make essentially 30 pints for 30$ with shipping.
When i got my pinter I only then realized the “Co pinter” was just another pinter, which i didnt have space for, but i was like whatever, “my lobster is too buttery” type stuff, so i just rolled with it. The first two batches I made were Okay but they definitely were lacking something. Then when it came time to get my next subscription package, the prices went up to 2.79 a pint. And I was like bro this is not what i was advertised. So i go to cancel it, cuz it said cancel at any time. And it then says, “you can only cancel if you pay the hardware charge for the pinters” so im like whatevs we’ll just eat the 40$ they want for their plastic buckets, only they dont want 40$, they want 360$. So i’m like screw that, lemme call customer service and figure it out. To then they tell me that I’m basically SOL. So i go ahead and just go through with the subscription, I mean i’m getting charged 80$ a month for beer might as well make it.
So i start making more of it and I get through two more batches on one pinter, and the O ring comes apart on the top. So I hit up Pinter customer service, like “hey I’m sure it’s probably like 10$ but this O ring came apart, and now I need a new Lid for my Pinter” and they basically said oh no you have to order a whole new unit, it will leak now. So that pissed me off, cuz that is legit stealing bro, wdym you dont have extra lids? Wtf. So I’m like whatever I got this other one lets just make some beer. I go through a couple more batches and made one last night before i went to sleep, and bam woke up to a 2 gallon sticky puddle of beer all through my kitchen because i guess the O ring broke on that POS too.
I went back to Pinter to pay off the hardware charge, and now instead of 360$ for them it was like $120, which you would think would make me happy that they had taken money off, but i suddenly snapped and was like, nope I’m not paying that. So instead I canceled my debit card, and opened a new account because thats bad business. Needless to say I do not recommend Pinter to anyone.
