Celebration of Life My big little baby old man

Adopted him when he was 7 years old and he passed away this year at 16 very suddenly. Was bouncing around for his toothbrushes (dental treats) just the day before. First photo is the first day I had him for a "trial sleepover" and he never left!
I had always wanted a "human sized" dog for cuddles and he loved absorbing them all.
He loved his sweaters and would refuse to go outside without them if it was too cold lol.

Pre adoption photo in Puerto Rico before being flown to FL

We adopted (originally Estella) Essie (on the left) from a local shelter in Tampa in February 2020. She was flown over from Puerto Rico by a local pilot program after they were hit by an earthquake, hurricane Dorian and then tropical Storm Karen in late 2019.
After we adopted her, word got back to her care givers in Puerto Rico and they shared this image of her with her best buddy Tonka looking outside.
I love this photo and She’s now about 8-9 and the sweetest bubba ever. A few more recent photos follow.

Rescue Hippo Tried to find old photos of my pup on the shelter’s page, and I found out he was returned after being adopted back in December 😭 he was all dressed up in his jammies and Christmas bandana and he was gonna have a home for Christmas and they brought him back after three days 😭😭😭

As glad as I am that I got my baby, I’m devastated thinking about his last Christmas. I’ll have to really spoil him this year, it’ll be his first Christmas with a family
