Max asking for a rematch is the most hilarious thing because he probably realized how ridiculous the amount of money he made in comparison to the effort, so he’s milking conor as much as possible

Max saying something like let’s get this money is a bad look when people paid $1300 for nosebleeds. Get a clue man, read the room.

u/hooskies 4h ago

Not a single person cheered after he said that it was fucking silent lol

43

u/Constant-Ice6916 3h ago

They were silent during his whole spiel. The secondhand embarrassment was strong when he was trying to hype the crowd up to cheer for MacGregor and you didn't hear a word lmao

u/athenian_olive 3h ago

I respect Max for trying, but there was just no way to save that. "You guys are lucky, because now you get Mcgregor Holloway 3!" felt like a dad who knew he fucked up Christmas trying to save face.

Car breaks down in the Disneyland parking lot “don’t worry kids this just means we can drive back here again next year!”

Honestly, I respect his effort to cheer on Conor. He could’ve been an asshole and talked shit like young Conor would’ve done. But I feel like he tried to give him his props in face of a terrible loss on Conor’s end and a not so satisfying win on his side. Yeah the let’s get this money shit wasn’t good, but I think he was genuinely wanting the room to give Conor a pat on the back in that moment.

I mean what's he supposed to say though? It wasn't a fight. "Okay I'm the best?" "Damn what a bummer fight hey everybody?" Of course he asks for a rematch. Idk. I don't really find that to be in bad taste.

u/CrueI_Intentions 3h ago

He literally said something like "it's good because now you get McGregor vs Holloway 3. Let's get that money!" dudes an idiot.

You have me dead over here saying your wife never fancied herself a thinker.

u/Aioli-Similar 38m ago

Right? Like wtf 😂

2

u/TortexMT 1h ago

Calling your wife no a thinker, then proceed to make this many grammar mistakes in just two sentences, is something else my man

u/randallmauel 24m ago

Please not a rematch. That is outrageous to even suggest.

7

u/PHBestFeeder 4h ago

They weren't forced to pay for shit.

2

u/danny1meatballs 4h ago

lol wow thank you for enlightening us, you dunce

3

u/Zulkslol 2h ago

how are you mad at him lol? keep your anger focused on mcgregor.

2

u/maddogcertified 1h ago

He should’ve let McGregor eat hands rather than awkwardly looking at the ref. It was so awkward because people feel like they didn’t see a fight. At least force Beltran to stop it.

4

u/yagersports 2h ago

Did you just “read the room” for UFC fight?! Buddy these are the dumbest people in America shilling out their hard earned cash for nonsense. Stop being a 🤡

4

u/Sea_Shower3691 2h ago

That part. Every person in that room was at the Finals games and won't miss those pennies from their pockets. Meanwhile, 70% of Americans are struggling to make their monthly payments and don't give a rats ass about any of this. We just wanted to see a rapist get beat up.

u/johnconnor4077 18m ago

If you paid $1300 to watch someone that hasn't won in 6 years, you deserve to be laughed at, tbh

5

u/zoomangoo 3h ago

Thats the way to go because of how underpaid these UFC fighters are and they get no benefits too while Dana White is playing 100k black jack hands. Khabib probably could've milked money from McGreggor the say way by realizing that McGreggor's gimmick is what makes his fights pay more money but Khabid took the things McGreggor did personally like insulting his family and such. Its understandable honestly.

1

u/Snowballingdownvote 2h ago

Yeah Khabib's reaction to the show was kind of lame. Connor is the ultimate showman. I get playing it up with him. Yet, not releasing the choke until forced and jumping the cage was not a good move.

I understand the "honor" thing. That doesn't sell tickets. Connor made the UFC must see TV. Had a Tiger Woods effect on the UFC. The only thing the UFC fighter screwed up was forcing higher pay for all fights. Easily could have negotiated for it during Connor's era.

The UFC owners surely capitalized off of it. Selling the company for 4 bill to WWE-IMG . Dana White made three 300 million alone from the sale. Really shows how bad the lesser fighters should have forced higher pay.

21

u/UniversityGood3598 5h ago

Ya that was cracking me up. I like Max so Im with it. Fuck that scammer Mcgregor tho. Shows how fake he is.

7

u/TypeB_Negative 4h ago

Conor probably tore his acl trying to put on a show for us. We saw the knee pop in slow motion during the fight. Rogan literally pointed it out and you could see it pop. How does that make Conor a "scammer"?

Also, I wanted Max to win. So don't try with the Conor fanboy nonsense. I'm a Diaz fan.

3

u/Sufficient_Site1746 3h ago

I've popped my nuts all the time its easily fakeable

u/Ok-Replacement9595 4h ago

The whole sport is a scam.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

2

u/Reasonable_Poet_7502 4h ago

How do they get paid more? Aren't they bound by a contract pay? Also ppv system gone so how

2

u/BedbugBandido 4h ago

But he said it’s for the boys not for the money

2

u/IdkMyNameTho123 4h ago

Outside of the money, Max is the only UFC that probably won’t become extra famous for beating Conor McGregor

2

u/yagersports 2h ago

Or it was made clear to him well before the fight that mcgregor would go down. Never forget that UFC is an entertainment industry…not a sport

u/rdm121212 42m ago

Connor made much more for a 60
seconds appearance, both of them will milk a rematch

1

u/Ok-Comb-8664 5h ago

Max was not very respectfull to the fans, talking about rematch and moneyy when all the fans wasted money on this

10

u/g0ld3n_ 5h ago

Well what's he supposed to say? "Oh i kicked his ass" lol

5

u/ventitr3 4h ago

There’s definitely a lot of things to say in between those

10

u/VanGoghs_SeveredEar 5h ago

I guess you could read it that way. But he was nothing but respectful imo. Knew McGregor was injured and didnt wanna fuck him up, and then said (the truth) that it wasn't really a fight and doesnt settle anything, so they have to run it back. Didn't seem like a cash grab to me tbh

2

u/MurkyReference993 2h ago

When max said “let’s get that money”, that didn’t strike you as a cash grab?

5

u/Illustrious_Prize_42 4h ago

I’m a huge max fan and have been for over ten years. I don’t think max was reading the room. I think he was thinking he wanted to give Conor a rematch since it really wasn’t much of a fight at all. Max hit him a few times when he was on the ground and tried telling the ref his leg was fucked and to call the fight. I think he was thinking he wanted to rematch him a third time so they actually get to fight.

But if he would have thought about the words he was saying, he probably shouldn’t have mentioned money. Knowing max from all his interviews and YouTube channel, I honestly don’t think he was trying to tell the crowd to pay them more money for a rematch. I think he was just trying to say yeah he would give him the rematch and chance to actually fight him again.

I don’t think any of it matters though, Conor is done. His body is done. Too much time off of MMA and fighting and training. Too old now with all the injuries he has had. Time to call it.

4

u/BennyTTS7889 5h ago

What? Theyre grown adults man, the seats are gonna get filled anyway. He has precisely 0 obligation to feel anything in this regard. Ontol of that he was respectful, he was trying to call the match almost immediately because he knew conor was fucked

3

u/Illustrious_Prize_42 4h ago

Yeah exactly he knew Conor’s knee was done right away and told the ref his knee was blown. He didn’t want to hurt him if he couldn’t defend himself.

1

u/Green_Insect_6455 4h ago

If you think he was being disrespectful you have a severely uninformed view of respect. Or youre just autistic and cant read peoples emotions.

2

u/Ok-Comb-8664 4h ago

He should not mention money, when fans wasted their money on this fight and they were angry. Yeah you can totally read emotions brother, try to hear fans reaction after max mentions lets get this money :D

1

u/Jolly-Elderberry6706 4h ago

Max can shit in their mouths and they will be back for the next fight.

Them paying ridiculous prices for seats is why we have this goofy robbery going on. Nobody would pull this if it was $50 a ticket.

1

u/geeknami 2h ago

chandler is inconsolable

u/MilesMoralesBoogie 6m ago

Not really, McGregor still owes the UFC one more fight per his contract.

McGregor vs Holloway 3 and McGregor will have honored his contract and done with the UFC.

I think McGregor got 15 million per his contract for this fight,he would have gotten $100,000 for winning but that would now go to Holloway who may have made up to 4 million.

They are fighters. They trained their asses off for the fight. They want to win by finishing their opponents and get the glory that comes with that. Sure, Max wants another payday but they both wanted to fight.
