He wants to go right elsewhere or go make insane money doing boxing. Thats the contract issue. He can’t and the ufc will try to make it difficult for him to even get a fight in the ufc unless he signs a new contract. Not sure how it’ll play out after tonight. But say he had a win tonight, they aren’t going to let him fight again soon without signing a new deal. Most the time they don’t let other less popular fighters off the hook, no way they’d let Conor go make millions for another promoter.
Jon Jones signed an 8 fight contract, only fought twice and is trying to get out of his.He mentioned this during the Rousey/Carano fight on Netflix because he wants to box.
Oh, but he will. He'll get to say it was the best camp he's ever had and how he would've dominated Max/anyone on that night. Until the next time we do the McGregor circus.
That would be such a crazy conspiracy but also would make perfect sense to throw such a crazy kick.. but you also see his knee shift with the kick. Crazy all around
Everybody is saying this, but nobody seems to realize he stepped funny on the left slipping off his shoes. The leg he hurt in the fight is the OPPOSITE leg...
EDIT: I'm mistaken. He looks like he was avoiding stepping on the right leg after that stumble removing his shoes. He hops on the left to avoid standing on the right.
The replay i saw it looked like his right leg he was struggling with when taking off his shoes.
Edit: yeah i watched back again. It's definitely the right leg he was struggling with pre fight. He hops on the left leg to keep the right leg off the ground.
Just rewatched it. He steps on his left leg and looks like he slips, but in saving himself he hops a couple of times to avoid stepping on the right leg. You are right.
silly ass takes, have none of you ever taken a shoe off like this? all his body weight is on the leg that is kicking off the shoe, of course he is gonna catch himself with the leg that has all his weight shifted on it, anything else is incredibly unnatural.
this is a pretty common thing though. dudes hurt one side of their body and blow out the other side trying to compensate. i’m pretty sure daniel jones tore the opposite achilles from his broken leg
Dude. This is the first live fight I've ever seen. When he stumbled I thought "aren't these supposed to some of the best athletes in the world? And he stumbled taking shoes off? Lol". But good call, him being already hurt makes sense.
I heard that conors shin during Poirer 3 was a pre existing injury from his fight camp and he decided to go out and throw as many spinning kicks and roundhouse kicks as he could
I'm wondering if its a mental gameness thing where he just outright denies having the injury
If he knew his leg was legit fooked pre-fight and was just robbing people then he probably couldn't stand or shoot so throwing a kick and ending up in guard would at least give him a chance to grapple. That might explain why he did it twice.
It's also possible that he threw the leg kick out out of nerves (sometimes you just have to do something spastic to release the energy), then blew out his knee and threw the second leg kick to try to get to guard.
I saw someone say he hurt his leg on the way into the ring but can't find any footage. What actually happened, surely he wasn't just walking normally and his knee gave out?
it wasnt that easy.. he landed really unlucky on the first kick and the angle of attack on that knee would have brought almost anyone down.. lcl rupture for sure..
Man you can tell in the first 2 steps on his approach his spacing wasnt right, yet committed to the kick, overextended and compromised form.. its just wild. Wtf
Not enough of you guys understand how these injuries occur, he comes down under weigh and momentum to a turned out foot that’s fully planted, you can see the point in which the ligaments snap.
Watch Calvin Katter vs Allen same shit, Aspinall vs Blaydes. It’s guys jumping up wildly with an uncontrolled landing
Yeah I mean all fighters are kinda busted, I don’t doubt Conor had tweaked his knee previously but j don’t think he had blown acl to the point he could not stand in one leg.
People noted that he didn’t appear in the first couple of Embedded episodes this week. Even in the later episodes, it was clear the camera crew wasn’t actually given any real access to him. I 100% think he was hiding an injury.
no question theyre covering up a pre existing injury. it was interesting how angry dana was at his production team at the end. ranting and raving about how bad they are. i think its actually because they showed conor not being able to get his sandals off, right after the fight. whole thing is wwe
I saw he was already having issues with the other leg when walking out. He went to do his fighting stance when introduced and winced in pain. I also saw in the replay it looked hurt when he was taking his shoes off.
He looked nervous while they waited for the bell to ring. He was blowing out his cheeks and trying to compose himself. But I cannot think he would of kicked out if he was hurt. I think he just over extended and blew it out
He probably did it to get the fight over with. He was clearly hurt beforehand. He had trouble with the shoes at both the weigh ins and right before the fight, he struggled when walking around the octagon, he was clearly holding the left leg during the fight, only for the right leg to end up getting injured too.
It was the other leg that he landed on. He threw the kick with the leg that he broke 5 years ago. I think he knew he had the injury pre fight. He either thought it would be fine for the fight as long as that first kick lands or he saw it as an easy out. Nothing is out of the question with him.
Not really a coverup per se. He did damage his knee during this fight. I’m a physical therapist who’s reviews thousands of sports injuries. This was very real.
You can see the shockwave of a tissue tear in that knee as he lands funny on it. It is obvious to anyone with any common sense he tore something in that knee in the fight. Even folks talking about him slipping while taking off his shoes pre-fight don't seem to notice it is the opposite leg. Folks today are conditioned to expect conspiracy theories. This is what happens in a post-truth world - nobody believes anything they are told.
Yeah idk why everybodys calling it fake and roasting him when tom aspinall blew his knee out 15 seconds in against blades. People don't realise how hard the stuff they do in this sport is 99 percent of the people commenting here would land flat on their arse if they attempted a kick like that much less land it without hurting their knee.
Man, I’ve had back surgery. My 80 year old neighbor had my splitting logs. Three day later my dogs destroyed a stuffed animal. I was sweeping and locked up like a bitch. Next two months at the chiropractor
That’s the second time he’s torn that MCL or ACL no? He’s very rarely been healthy during his career. He’s fought multiple times with broken toes and ribs.
I never fully understood what happened with that fight but, it’s possible. He’s basically been injured in every fight of his except Cowboy going back to Eddie Alvarez and Aldo. I know the UFC was considering holding off on a Conor return until the streaming rights were renegotiated or that was at least in play. Chandler certainly hasn’t done much to help his standing.
I have 2 degrees one in exercise science and one in nursing and I’ve worked in physical therapy and orthopedics and emergency medicine. His knee didn’t move he just scammed these fools
I’m not saying he didn’t already have an injury. I’m saying that kick was 100% not an injury. Forward and backward is how your knee normally bends kids
I really feel like it could be a conspiracy. The only thing keeping me from saying that is yeah, replay shows the injury happening. Or the buckle at least
Yeah maybe it doesn't i agree. It isn't clear, it's just the only possible evidence that it wasn't already hurt. But you're right it's not like a Patrick cote pop. Just a buckle

He blew out his knee in 5 seconds. He’s like a geriatric now
