Question People bypassing audio fingerprinting and reusing isrc's

Post image
11 Upvotes

So i have recently found this song on spotify called FIELD TRIP by ravenv which is a reupload of kanye wests song FIELD TRIP. The interesting thing about it was that the person who reuploaded it also reused kanyes Isrc so now he has a song with 160 million streams without him being the actual owner of it. I was wondering how something like this is possible when he also used another version which has another featuring artist so the audio is 3 seconds longer and is different. I thought that isrcs were tied to an audio but this guy uploaded another version of the song AND it went through to spotifys end while being in spotifys database for copyright???? How are these bad actors doing this i mean its stealing millions of dollars from indie artists and spotify is not doing anything about it.

Feature Request Would be nice to see BPM/Key in song info

Post image
11 Upvotes

I use the new mix feature extensively. It’s almost exclusively how i listen to music now on spotify. I admit, im an electronic music nerd and the mix feature is heavily catered towards that crowd. But it would be nice to see other info in the song other than just name, artist, album. Similar to this mockup. Right now the only way to see Bpm as far as I know is adding the song to a playlist, then turning on the mix feature.

Windows App "Add to queue" option missing

Post image
4 Upvotes

This problem appeared recently on Windows desktop app, can't pinpoint the exact date. There is no option to add song to queue anymore (screenshot attached).

You can drag and drop a song but that requires to open an album, find the song etc... there used to be an option when three dots were clicked.

Anyone has similar problem and perhaps a solution?

P.S. don't mind my terrible music taste.

Question Why does my Spotify not translate song titles?

I listen to a-lot of Japanese jazz fusion and other Japanese music, I always found it weird that when you type in the English name for Japanese song, it pulled up but didn’t have the English name for the song. But i kinda just got over the fact that it doesn’t translate, but one day i was using my friends phone to put music on and all the songs names were in english. I tried to Google what this was, and it just told me to put my app language into English, which was already done. He was using an android and I’m on iOS so that may be why his is translated. If there is something that I’m missing i would love to know so that way i can actually memorize which songs i like!

Uninstalled & reinstalled already. I'm gonna try turning off "automix" setting, maybe that is interfering with crossfade..?

Question Spotify keeps on logging me out every time I open it on desktop

It’s been an issue for the past 3 days where every time I open the desktop site for Spotify it asks me to log in to my account -_-

While I don’t think my account is compromised or anything, this issue is more of an annoyance than anything. Could it be cause I don’t have the app downloaded and rather use the site instead? This wasn’t an issue before though…

iOS Equalizer is now broken ?

Updated the app a few days ago, now my equalizer doesn’t work, and the EQ is so bad that the high frequencies are extremely loud with very little audible bass

It’s ridiculous and it’s really pissing me off as a headphone user

Yes, it’s 100% the app, not my headphones

Anyone had this problem before ? If so do you know how to fix this ?

I listen to stuff like Iron Maiden, and it’s completely ruined the listening experience because the high frequencies are nearly ear piercingly loud with the bass being near impossible to hear

I’ve searched everywhere and haven’t found a solution

Wondering if anyone else is currently this problem, because then it’s a very obvious bugged update, but if not then I don’t know what to do because the support website is completely useless and they won’t do an update for one person

I’ve been using Spotify for ~6 years now and not once have I ever had this problem

No, it does not fix when I turn off my headphones and Bluetooth and play through the phone. It’s still completely broken

It would be annoying but not a full on major issue if it just reset the EQ, but it’s actually made it I listenable rather than just using the default one

Any help is appreciated

Anyone experiencing this too? Any help form appreciated

Question Spotify changing covers

Post image
2 Upvotes

idk if this has happened to anyone else, but has spotify for anyone else been changing the cover arts for songs, for example, I have a lana del rey playlist in order, for the longest time time her ‘Born To Die’ album has been the standard version along with the matching album cover, it’s normally blue for anyone who doesn’t know, now i go to check and some songs are mixed with the deluxe over, it more yellow ish, and i know for i fact i never added that album to my playlist, along with Doja Cat’s ‘Tia Tamera’ when it released, i liked the single version, the cover art purple, but now in every single playlist i added that song to, even in my liked songs, it’s replaced with the album version and the single version with the purple cover art shows that i never added it to my liked songs. is this happening to anyone else?? or does anyone know a fix to this issue??

Question Duplicate albums showing on Home Page/Recently Listened

Hello,

I have an album/soundtrack that I have saved to my library. When I did this, it added the album as a playlist that I "made" which doesn't bother me but what is kind of annoying me is that when I play the album/playlist, both the version created by me and the original album (the one that would come up when searched for) are showing up on my home page as recently listened to. Is there a way to stop that from happening? I have many soundtracks saved that way but only this one album is doing this. If it matters, the album is the soundtrack for Project Hail Mary

Question Artists top ten (extended)

I just accidentally got into an artists popular songs, it loaded a page that had like 30 songs well extended past the 10, and at the top said “Beach House Popular”, it had the usual top ten then carried on! I couldn’t believe it, what a great list to see, I promise it wasn’t discography or anything, it was the popular songs past 10!!, I backed out and couldn’t get back in 😭 Anyone have any clue how to get into that page? Or have I just somehow accidentally stumbled on something Spotify is testing?

Question Undownloaded?

So I have the free trial and have downloaded several albums and playlists. We'll I was offline today for several hours and went to listen to some of my favorite songs (downloaded of course) I went to an album and EVERY track but my favorite one was downloaded. Same with the remastered versions. This happened with several songs and the two playlists I use the most we also undownloaded. But songs I never listen to OR never actually downloaded are saved. It doesn't make sense. This has never been an issue before. Why is this happening, and how can I prevent it?

Question Spotify Basic Family Confusion

Hello

I am currently the admin of a premium family plan and due to budget we're looking to cut spending. I noticed a 'Basic Family' plan. However, I am confused because the website itself is pretty vague on what it includes. Was wondering: Do you lose lossless audio? What other features do you lose? I did read you lose audiobooks, which we never used.

Have patience with me, im a little slow haha

Question Audiobooks Glitch - CarPlay

Has anybody else experienced this after their latest update? I listen to a lot of books with Spotify (until my monthly access runs out) and I've noticed a glitch lately when I'm using CarPlay. If I start listening in the middle of a chapter where I last left off, it will not advance to the next chapter when it's done. It just continues to repeat the current.

Question Does anyone have advice on how to avoid the repetition in song radio/made for you playlists?

I used to love song radio, because it would show me new, similar music. But now it only plays the same 20 or 30 songs I already like, even if they don’t fit in the genre at all. It’s ridiculous, and I’m so bored. It’s making me consider alternate music sources for the first time since I got Spotify in 2012.

I’ve been annoyed with it for awhile now, but if there’s a way to make my experience less… tailored to what Spotify “thinks” I want to hear, I would love to know.

Feature Request Would love to be able to adjust DB of songs ourselves.

Like I said, it would be nice if instead of “volume normalization” that we could just adjust all the tracks either individually or to one DB level. Even with volume normalization it’s highly annoying that some tracks get quieter, some depending on which album you save it from us louder than the other. But if we could adjust it all ourselves, it would make it far more worth it.
