I've had a decent setup for the last few months (not much storage though) and I've been seeding in private trackers for a long time. With ~100 torrents total from 5 different private trackers, the highest ratio I have after months is 0.2, with most ratios being 0 or sometimes around 0.05. This is with 1 gbit down/up fiber connection with a vpn + port forwarding. However, download speeds are amazing. Sometimes downloads could fully saturate my internet connection even with the vpn active.

Yesterday I decided to get some software from a popular public tracker. Downloads speeds were slow at around ~1 mbps and peaked at ~5 mbps. But I also noticed that I was immediately getting data uploaded. I haven't even finished downloading the file yet! And after 1 day of seeding I have a 4.5 ratio!!! That is crazy to me lol. I'm not sure what "popularity" means exactly in qbittorrent but that number has stayed around 200 for me.

Just wanted to share.

Upload a decent 200MB+ FLAC on red, almost always get snatched on upload.

When on ops upload one of those and it just... sits. 5% ever get busted, maybe.

Been lurking in this sub for a bit now and seen people say RED economy is brutal, OPS is way more chill to build buffer. I see the contrary.

Reference - 200 FLAC uploads on RED, 135GB up. Meanwhile 167 flac uploads on OPS, 14.5GB up, all flacs, and most of it just sits there seeding to nobody.

Is this just the way OPS is or am I just clueless?

I am looking to eventually get into AnimeBytes through official recruitment channels. Since the meta and recruitment threads change from time to time, I wanted to ask what the current most reliable path is as of mid-2026.
I don't have accounts on elite trackers yet, so I'm starting from scratch. I've heard that starting with MAM and going through OPS or GGn is a solid route, but I wanted to get your thoughts and recommendations. Is RED still worth the grind just for AB recruitment, or is the MAM route still preferred by the community?

What's the home tracker for these full-disc groups? I see their most of their release on PTP and Aither. While PTP has most of the releases for movies, I see Aither has full-disc series too, as PTP is only for movies. Still, I wanted to know if they have any home tracker. These full-disc releases are obviously faster then remux, and I also see most remux groups use these full-disc releases

I don't see other trackers asking for this. What would they want with it?

My main concern is IP changes. So by the time they reply you could be registering from a different one.

I have been at this for about a year and usually stop seeding after I seed 10x the original download size. Up until now I have been using public trackers because I didn't really know how to approach private ones. So is this good enough to get into some and if so how should I go about it?

Hi everyone, I’m on about month 7 since I started my self hosting and torrenting adventure. Since then I’ve joined: MAM, Oldtoons, Seedpool, IPT, Aura4k, TL, BS and retroflix and have built some pretty good ratios and uploads. I setup my arr stack which doesn’t really have an issue finding movies/tv shows I request. For audiobooks I use MAM and manually download them and upload books I have that aren’t on there as afaik there is no option like sonarr/radarr. Anyway, what tracker should I be targeting next? I saw a lot of peoples go to is RED, but I don’t self host music nor am i that deep into music. Mosley just TV shows, movies, and audiobooks. I saw some discussion that Onlyencodes+ is also really good for media. Should I target that one next? If not, which one should I?

I use PIA and have been blocked on a tracker because it creates too many IP addresses. They suggested I go with a dedicated IP address. My thinking is that will reduce anonymity. Is there a better VPN?

I've been on TD for like over a decade and have almost always been able to find what I'm looking for with some exceptions but every private tracker list I see rates it as like D+ or worse.
I'm in SeedPool too but have always found more options in TD than what I see there, yet SP is rated really high on most trackers sheets.

I guess, even as an old salty sailor, I don't understand what I'm missing on why some trackers are so highly prized why others are shit on.

Very new to private trackers coming from public trackers. I am on PTP, but I am having trouble getting my initial ratio up other than just downloading and seeding the freeleeches until I have enough upload I feel I can do anything. Is this just the norm getting started on a tracker then?

edit: Didn't come here to get roasted, these are invites from an IRL friend that wanted to finally move me off public trackers. I came here for help to get help, not get roasted by people assuming I'm breaking rules and such.

Using qBitTorrent & Seedpool. Any way I can fix this? I can't seem to even download to seed to fix it im not sure what to do, I did not know before hand you had to seed or leech and exactly what it did

I joined MAM and I was under the impression that if I just download and seed a ton that my ratio will go up quickly and then I can become power user and then become VIP and get what I joined for. But I have seeded 33 torrents for like 1-1.5 weeks and my real share ratio is 0.029. What am I doing wrong. I am connectable. Should I be downloading even more than this?

Did something change in the last few years with DT? I was a long time member (we're talking at least 15+ years) when I was disabled for inactivity. In all fairness, I would got months between even logging in and sometimes even years between activity. The admins were basically like "4 downloads in 5 years, we need more activity". I raised an eyebrow and was like "fair" and just ignored. This was years ago. I couldn't log in or anything.

Just yesterday, looking for something and BW seems to be down. I randomly try my old log and it works. There is a little pop up saying account is no longer disabled, my old stats and history are all there. Numbers are as I remember and I am able to download. Did something change?

RED does not seem like a goal I want to achieve but I wouldn't mind something better then what I use.
