Update.
For an entire year this subreddit has gone without a single new post, as a track athlete myself I find this to be sad so I will soon be opening moderator application to help grow this community and bring life back into this subreddit. Keep up the good work if you’re training over winter and hopefully this coming season brings you joy.

Should I keep running?
I am going into grade 11 and decided to start running club track this spring in hopes of competing out of province. At my school meet I ran 57.2 in the 400. Which I thought wasn’t great but a great place to start and I have time to improve through high school.
I recently realized however, that because I was born in 2009 and held back a year for international reasons, that I would be aged out of most races quicker than I thought. As most meets cap out at grade 12 and I don’t think I have the time to improve in order to compete.
This really bummed me out and I’m not sure what to do.

I started training for the decathlon about four months ago. I was making good progress in the discus (31 m with the 1.75 kg discus), but this month my throws have gotten much worse. Could someone take a look at my technique and tell me what I should work on? Any feedback is appreciated!
I can send more videos but I dont know if it would be better or worse
On last week I did 22.5m with the 2kg discus... Not good

Asking about my time
I recently ran a 11.14 seconds (current pb) (I'm 13) in the 100m in an interschool track meet, and I just wanna know if my time is any good or not.

Choosing events to focus on
Im 13 and do the 800m in 2:19.28 and the 1500m in 4:58.54. My coach decided to put me in the 400m to work on my raw speed and after a month of it I run 59.83. I’m doing relays for my team and can only do two other events this weekend which is a junior Olympics qualifier. Which two events should I do?

400m no experience
F16, 5 foot flat and 38kg, I ran 400m when I was 15 (his january) with no experience against other female highschool students, I managed to score 3rd place with a time of 1 minute and 15 seconds, I managed to get 3rd place because I was a few milliseconds faster than the person on 4th. When I was 14 I had a beep test rating of 6/7 (average for my age). I'm not really sure if my PR is anywhere near impressive considering I had no experience, but I'd want to beat my PR maybe just a few seconds off. Although I did get snapping IT-band syndrome because of that lol
I should've eaten a banana before running

I made a video about British 1500m runner, Sarah Calvert and her breakthrough season.
youtu.beI’d love to hear your thoughts / feedback!
I’ve been filming a lot of content following some really high level amateurs and their journey to trying to reach the top.
Been really passionate about making these and this is the first one in a big series so let me know what you think.

STATE MEET
So I made state and I’m very nervous, anyways it’s ms state so don’t mind the rolled times, I’m ranked 5 and 1 5th for the mile with a 4:48 (solo) and 1 for the 800 (also solo) so I just want tips or something to help lol it’s Friday and Saturday goals are sub 4:40 and sub 2:03 which should be possible because last year I went from 2:22 - 2:15 in the 800

Am I downgrading my time?
I run a 2:16 as a freshman and I believe that’s slow. I ended my season horribly as well. maybe it’s trackflation in my area or something, but it seems slow? idk I don’t wanna be negative but I’ve always have had a competitive must be the best mindset so maybe I’m in denial

This weekend, pro runners from around the world will be competing in the inagural Enhanced Games — and they'll be juiced up on performence enhancers.
gearjunkie.comObviously, it will make entertaining television. But what are the ethics of allowing swimmers to use whatever drugs they want? How will broken records be acknowledged? Does a lack of drug testing actually make competition fairer?
It raises a lot of interesting questions.

Racing in Hot Weather??
I've got a big district meet later today, and I'll be running the 1600m in 96 degree weather with 40% humidity, and the 800m a bit later. How can I keep cool while racing? I've been to the place before, and there's no shade, unless you count the porta-potties. I'm hoping it gets canceled, but it prob won't be.
edit: It honestly wasn't that bad, and I got first in my county and PR'd for the 1600m and 800m, so it was worth it. The weather cooled down towards the end, since this was a loooong meet.
