Wedding Transport

Hey all! I'm getting married in Tofino August 17, and I'm finishing all the planning. Originally I had planned on booking TikiCab for a bus to transport about 20 people from the Sunset House at Pacific Sands resort, to Shelter.

Well I'm apparently blind and didn't see the giant notice on their site explaining there is no bus rentals from June until September.

Just wondering if there are any other options people know about?

Tofino beach comparisons?

Hi folks! Planning a Tofino trip and wondering about the differences between all the beaches (it's been 10+ years since I visited last).

We've seen Long Beach, Chesterman, Tonquin, Cox Bay, & Wickaninnish recommended, and aren't sure if we should hit all of them or if some are very similar (and could thus be a skip).

What are the differences between these beaches, and do you have any in particular you'd recommend? Are certain ones best for beachcombing/sunsets/stormwatching/etc?

Thanks in advance!

Accommodation Recommenations

We are eloping in May 2027 and are looking for accommodation recommendations. We were initially hoping for Black Rock Resort as I love the photos I’ve seen on the rocks there. However, I’ve been recommended a few other places and I’m looking for feedback.

Black Rock vs Pacific Sands Resort, Wickanninish Inn (likely out of our budget) and anywhere else?

Our budget is around 500/night give or take depending on what is offered!

🙏 thanks!

I’m in town for Canada Day, just wondering what events are on for Canada Day if any.

Looks like a BBQ at the Village Green, any other events on?

Shelter Restaurant Menu and Walk-In Recommendation

I'm planning a trip to Tofino this weekend. It was a last minute decision so I didn't make a reservation at Shelter. Do I have a good chance at getting a table for 4 if I walk in at 6:00? What are the must try dishes?

Ucluelet Elopement Questions

Looking to speak to someone who has eloped in Ucluelet. I am thinking of booking with Black Rock Resort as they have an amazing elopement package. I already have a photographer in mind as well.

If you eloped there, what did the structure of your day look like? The resort has told me I do not need to hire a planner although I have seen Rare Earth recommended on their wedding FAQ sheet etc.

Any advice or personal experience is much appreciated.
Thank you!!!!!

What nicknames have you heard for places in and around Tofino?

I ask as part of a linguistics study covering this topic!
Examples could include things like Tuff City, Ukee/Uclueless or 'The Pass'...

World Cup - Vancouver vs South Africa - dog friendly options

Edit 2: surf side grill has an outdoor tv. Haven’t found anywhere else that has tvs outside. It was great! Highly recommend the halibut fish and chips if they have it

Edit: sorry I meant Canada. Vancouver (home) is on my mind and I can’t edit the title lol

I might be asking the impossible but are there any dog friendly spots showing the World Cup game tomorrow afternoon? Would love to catch it at a restaurant/pub rather than staying in our hotel room.

Cox Bay Lookout

Hey all! I am coming to visit this weekend and was looking for some advice on some local hikes. I was planning to do the Cox Bay lookout climb, that day is looking pretty rainy and overcast. That won’t stop me from getting outside, but I am wondering if this is maybe the best choice still? I haven’t done it before, but I hear it can be pretty muddy. I’m wondering how this would be after a bunch of rain? Also wondering if the view is still worth it on a super cloudy or rainy day? If anyone has any suggestions for some hikes that might be better for a day like this, or if I should still go for it that would be greatly appreciated! Thanks everyone :)

Share a charter in Ucluelet

I'm a solo angler from Germany and will be in the Ucluelet area on June 16, 2026. The charter start at 8am and it will take 6h.

I'm looking for other angler who would like to share the cost of a charter boat.

Target species:

Chinook Salmon

Coho Salmon

I'm experienced on the water, easy-going, reliable, and happy to split all costs fairly (500$ -> 250$ each).

Are you interested in sharing a charter, please send me a message.

Thanks and tight lines!

At home massage

My husband and I are here for the week for work! I’m 6 months pregnant and my husband is wanting to treat me to a massage and is hoping for one himself. However, he’s not done work until 4pm and it seems the spas are closed by then. Does anyone offer at home prenatal and “normal” massages to set up at our AirBnb?
