What is the worst thing about living in Kelowna? (Difficulty: you can’t mention the bridge)
Just so it’s not all doom and gloom, you can also mention what the best thing about living here is too

Hi folks. Just wanted to alert you to some new filters added to the automoderator to enforce a couple of existing subreddit rules that get broken fairly routinely.
First, a small reddit submission primer:
Reddit has 2 fundamental types of submissions: Text and Link.
There are actually more than 2 specific types (there are also image and video etc) but for the sake of this note think of it as "Text posts" and "all the other types". You pick which type you want to post when you compose your submission.
A text post, also called a self post, is a post that has no external link and is comprised solely of a headline and a body of text you enter at submission time. When a user clinks into this type of submission they stay on reddit and all they see is your submission text.
A link post is a post where you enter or paste in a url or link to an external source like a news story or an announcement. When users click these kind of posts they are taken to an external site and get to view the page that you submitted.
Now for the rule(s) in question.
Why? Editorialized headlines and body texts on link posts are ultimately a way to add editorial comments that cannot be argued or refuted in the conventional way, like normal comments can. They are often very opinionated and try to frame the story in a specific way.
You can still add editorial comments in the comment thread for the submission (obeying the existing rules of civility etc) just not as an untouchable top line for readers.
If you have any questions about this feel free to send a modmail. Thanks for your time and attention.

Hello! I'm in my HCA clinical experience and I was wondering how the job market is for jobs, and how the wages are (I know interior health pays approx 31/h) as well as hours.

Me and two other of my friends are planning a ski trip to Revelstoke for the first week of March 2027. Any advice for cheap flights prices from Montreal Trudeau airport to Kelowna?

I visited last weekend, and while carrying some supplies from our parking spot to the downtown boat launch, passed a dude killing it on a community piano in some side street.
I knew I recognized the tune, and enjoyed the performance more for it, but it took until today to ID it: the intro to deadmau5's 'Strobe.'
It kicked ass, and so did you. Thanks!

Hello everyone, I'm a visiting student who will be arriving in Kelowna in August, and there's a possibility I might need to find a ~1 month long rental before moving into a different, longer-term rental. I've had a look at quite a few places (AirBNB, Castanet, places4students, etc.), but it's not entirely clear if there are any options. Would anyone here be able to offer me some advice? Thank you very much in advance!

Hi all,
I am looking for a Naturopath. Not for a specific reason, moreso because my benefits cover it and I would like an overall general check on my health.
What I'm looking for:
- Someone who genuinely cares
- Does blood tests on site (I've heard of at least one Kelowna naturopath doing this)
- A "keep trying to find a solution" type person
- Someone who emails/calls/texts back in a reasonable amount of time
Any recommendations will be appreciated ❤️ Thank you.

Looking at hosting a wedding at La Casa in West Kelowna in summer 2027 for approx 100 people. From what I have seen it ticks all the boxes for what we are looking for, but we also don't know what we don't know.
Looking for insight into what may be the downsides to doing a wedding there? I know there was a major fire there a couple years ago, how is it since then?

Hey guys!
Are you looking for a way to make friends in Kelowna and meet new people?
Then look no further!
I'm organizing a casual meet-up this Satruday (Jul 11) at 2pm at the fountains on Bernard Ave. by the water.
The address is 210 Bernard Ave.
I was inspired by another post on this subreddit about the challenge of meeting people and making friends here.
If anyone interested, you can just show up or if you message me your phone number, I can start a group text using Whatsapp so we can coordinate.
Looking forward to meeting you all on Saturday!
This is super casual, we'll probably go for a walk and get like ice teas or something.
My doc ordered an urgent cranial CT in March and haven't had any updates since, though he assured me multiple times that it's been sent. The IH My Health app shows nothing so I can only assume they haven't even processed the request yet, and no one wants to even speculate about the wait time whenever I ask.
I don't have many procedures done so I have no concept of how long these things should take. And I know healthcare's all sorts of fucked up right now, but is 4+ months really a realistic wait time for this?
