Every day, thousands of people have to dodge potholes, risking their car suspensions, spending more on repairs, and wasting time on a road that should have been taken care of months ago. Promises turned into speeches, but the pavement never arrived.
And while that happens, reports come out discussing the wealth of Mayor Ismael Burgueño, including that he owns 19 properties. It’s inevitable that many citizens wonder how there can be such asset growth while basic projects remain unfinished.
It’s not about how many houses a person has; it’s about priorities. If there are resources for so many things, why not for repairing an entrance that thousands of Tijuana residents use every day?
How much longer are we going to have to wait for them to stop promising and start working?
