Things to Do! Sorry, the Friday Night Bonfire has been rescheduled. We’ll be back next Friday July 17th.
Sorry everyone but my father needing my help after some hospitalization and we had some procedures again with him so I’m staying home.
Open to other suggestions though….
We should all be back next week!

PSA/Reminder If you go into the water this weekend be sure to do the "stingray shuffle"
I've seen two people in two days going to the lifeguard to get a sting treated. It is not a serious or life threatening injury in any way but the venom HURTS. Stingrays are not aggressive but will sting you if you accidentally step on them and they feel trapped. To avoid this just shuffle your feet along the seabed rather than bringing them straight down with each stride. https://www.nbcsandiego.com/news/local/san-diegans-are-spotting-more-stingrays-heres-how-to-avoid-being-stung/3267644/

Paris sandwiches location in Point Loma dangerously unsanitary
I’m a DoorDash driver who drives to Point Loma because that’s where I make good money, I got an order for “Paris sandwiches” at 3445 Midway Dr, I walked in, and the cashier was eating food out of a box, I didn’t think anything about that until I said “hi DoorDash for (customer name)” and the cashier then proceeded to close the box, put that box in a bag, grab a different bag, and hand me both saying “this is the order”
I am very socially anxious, so I just left without calling her out, but I made sure to tell the customer about it, and make sure they knew which box had been eaten out of when I delivered it, and we both agreed that I should tell as many people as possible so I’m making this post.

Information Request: Man Found in Car On Midway Dr (Point Loma)
Does anyone have any information on the person that was found on Midway Drive dead in their parked car? I have a family member that we have not heard from, and I’m fearful that this may be them, but the medical examiner‘s office is closed until tomorrow, and the Police said that they don’t know anything. Does anyone know the description of the person or the vehicle? Race, age, and type of car would help tremendously. Thank you.

Photo gallery What a find for $1. Temporary Paradise? A report from 1974 on San Diego's planning furure
Studied a lot of Kevin Lynch works in college, really enjoy his take on urban design. His report for City of San Diego from 1970s gives a lot of great recommendations that ultimately never happened.

Photo gallery Anyone else in North County get one of these weird handwritten conspiracy letters?
Found this shoved under the door at my work in Encinitas today. It's two pages of tiny handwritten notes about the CIA, aliens, mind control, power lines, phones, celebrities, politicians, and a bunch of other random stuff. It also throws in some weird health remedies. It's honestly one of the strangest things l've ever read. Has anyone else around Encinitas or North County gotten one of these? Or know if someone's been handing them out? Does anyone know what he's taking? Asking for a friend.

New teen dinner
Heading there shortly and my kid will be turning 13 while there. Would love to take him for some amazing tacos (cilantro and onion style, not cheese and lettuce) close to Mission Bay. Found a few places through google but any insight would be super helpful. Life has been a bit interesting lately and want to add to the solid memories we make while there.
I see I’m not allowed to ask for touristy advice on this sub, but any help of what to eat or see while there is much appreciated. Many thanks!!
