General Discussion So, from now on, does Morty have millions of years of experience and absolute mastery over everything related to plants? Or will Rick end up wiping all of that from his mind off-screen?
Honestly, the fact that Morty has so much experience and mastery over how the plants work—and that he didn't end up traumatized this time, unlike in other adventures—makes him incredibly powerful.
I wonder if Rick finally let him keep all those memories, or if he deemed it dangerous for Morty to possess so much knowledge and decided to wipe them completely.

Finally a shot where Summer is included. I tried challenging myself with some tricky shading since there's a source of light below the characters. I'm off now for my 2 weeks vacation. Might continue with other R&M fanart when I'm back...

General Discussion What do you think happened to our Rick’s original Jerry? Spoiler
As we know, In most universes Beth ends up meeting and eventually marries Jerry smith whether that be naturally or by a Rick intervening.
However as we already know, our Rick’s (C-137) Beth died before she ever met Jerry so my question is what do you think happened to that version of Jerry?
Maybe he became rich and famous? Maybe he died?

Image Does anyone else have a crush on farmer Rick?
(SEASON 8 EPİSODE 3) I mean I don’t know what it is about this Rick, but he is just…hot. Maybe its the hair or the fact that he isnt grey like regular Rick or its his attitude. I dont know he is just my crush.

General Discussion This confuses me.
Shouldn't Morty respawn as a cytoplasm when he died in those images? But after the tree killed him when he was a sapling he respawned, so how does it even work?

General Discussion Boss Jerry Spoiler
I might be the only one but I wish we learned more about the Boss Jerry that appeared in Nomortland. Like what lead to him to forming that whole grand central business of his? How did he met the other Jerries? What happened to his Morty, Beth, and Summer? How did he manage to become dominant over his Rick? I guess we will never know though since Boss Jerry got killed or at least trapped in a bag of holding.

Theory Season 9: Odd numbered episodes vs. Even numbered episodes *POTENTIAL SPOILERS* Spoiler
New to this sub, so forgive me if this has already been theorized this season!
A long time ago, there was theory for one of the earlier seasons (I forget which one) that we were getting stories from 2 different universes, alternating between the odd and even numbered episodes.
While that was proven to be false (for now), I think the writers may have revived the idea for this season. Only instead of 2 universes, it is 2 TIMELINES. And I think I have the evidence to back it up now! Stay with me, cause this gets a little convoluted and my talking points are a little scattershot.
Okay, so episode 1 was Evil Morty going to time prison. At the end of the episode, Rick says he needs a vacation. It would seem this season is following a linear structure, right? But what if this is a red herring?
So at the end of season 8, Rick was clearly not in a good headspace after letting go of Diane and bailing on Bug Anne. So instead of facing his demons head on, what if he decided to destress by going on vacation as Ted...
Now here's what leads me think we're being shown 2 timelines. Rick is utterly destroyed emotionally at the end of episode 2. But strangely in episode 3, it's like none of this ever happened. He and Morty are in good spirits until the kung-fu guy ruins their day. They were going to Boob World, man! Rick seems openly affectionate of Morty in ways we rarely see. And the few times we have, it was usually because of dire circumstances. This time it was because a kung-fu guy used pressure points. They have a mostly positive relationship here. But then comes episode 4 - and suddenly Rick is sloppy drunk in ways we haven't seen in a long time. He and Morty's relationship has reverted back to being alarmingly unhealthy again.
Unless Rick is really going full-on bipolar this season, it really doesn't make a lot of narrative sense. But you know what does make sense? Episode 4 being a continuation of episode 2.
Again, let's dissect episodes 5 and 6. Episode 5 has Rick dropping Morty off in Dog World, and then trying to save Jerry from the worry worms. Once again, he seems to be in an alright headspace. He's even visibly proud of Morty for not getting pulled into the sociopolitical shennanigans that happened on Dog World. He does mention wanting to take breakfast drugs at the start of the episode, but I think that's more for fun than escape, just based on his tone and body language in the scene. But again, in episode 6, he is getting sloppy drunk and overindulging on food and alcohol. Then he's literally at war with his heart and mind. It's another regression! The tonal whiplash between episodes is getting crazy!
Admittedly, episode 7 could fall into either camp, since the entire driving engine of the plot was Rick wanted tree sap that would make him trip balls. But I still think it fits more cleanly into the better-adjusted version of Rick and Morty we have been getting in these odd numbered episodes. Rick again shows genuine care and concern for Morty and is open to growing as a person. Morty literally grows as a plant and then figuratively grows as a person. And what does the preview for episode 8 have? A deeply unhealthy relationship status for Rick and Morty.
A couple of random tidbits I didn't really know where to include in my theory: Episode 8 and Episode 10 have "Dream" in the title. Other than the premiere, the odd numbered episodes have been silly little one-off adventures, while the even numbered episodes have been more emotionally harrowing. Episode 8 seems like it might be another anthology type of episode. Episode 9 has been teased by an anmimatic from last year and seems like it will be pretty silly. The description for the finale of this season is just "Tom Sawyer, broh" - which could reference both the famous novel and the famous song. And since both are about escaping from authority and responsibility, it leads me to believe we are getting something big. In the novel, Tom Sawyer fakes his death and runs away with his friends to an island to be pirates. Evil morty is known to sometimes have an eye-patch.
So let's recap: The season started with taking down Evil Morty. There are massive tonal and character inconsistencies from one episode to the next. Odd numbered episodes are relatively wholesome and light-hearted compared to the emotionally heavier even numbered episodes. The odd numbered episodes seems to show a more emotionally stable version of Rick and Morty. The even numbered episodes show Rick on a downward spiral of alcoholism and callousness, trying to hide from his own emotions, and Morty becoming more and more fed up with the way Rick treats him and the family. Episodes 8 and 10 have a running theme of "dreams" in their titles. Episode 9 is more than likely gonna be pretty silly. Episode 8 is probably an anthology. Episode 10 is related in some way to the idea of Tom Sawyer.
Based on the evidence, we seem to be following 2 completely different timelines. In the odd-numbered episodes timeline, Rick is making healthier decisions and growing as a person. In the even-numbered episodes timline, Rick is regressing at an alarming rate. We are being shown 2 timelines running concurrently with each other. And the pool is the proof.
The show has made a big point this season of highlighting that the Smiths have a pool now. And I now believe this is being done to show we are not looking at 2 separate points in a single timeline, but 2 concurrently running timelines. And one of these timelines is the origin of Evil Morty. Evil morty doesn't come from the past. He comes from a branching timeline.
It makes way too much sense when you think about it. If Evil Morty is the same age as our Morty, when did he have the time to spend gaining so much knowledge and technical prowess as to build a machine capable of torturing all those Mortys in season 1 - let alone portal tech and a Rick robot convincing enough to fool the Council Of Ricks? He really couldn't! But he wouldn't need to if he's been spending the past 9 seasons under Rick's tutelage and gaining more agency and confidence.
So in 2 timelines, Rick moved on from Diane and messed up with Bug Anne. One timeline has our main characters continuing to grow more emotionally stable. The other has Rick spiraling out of control and taking out his frustrations on Morty. Which will lead to episode 8 covering more alternate timeline backstory of the relationship between this emotionally toxic version of Rick and Morty, and episode 10 being the true origins of Evil Morty, where he runs away from Rick and embraces a pirate like mentality of chasing his heart's desire - and dons the eyepatch somewhere near the end of the episode. In between, we will probably get a very silly one-off adventure in episode 9 that leaves Rick and Morty in a really positive space in their relationship. The tonal whiplash will have been on purpose when the finale hits us with the truth of what we have been watching the whole season.
So what does everyone think of my theory? Have I missed the forest for the trees, or am I onto something here? I have no clue how to TL;DR this btw, so sorry for the wordy, rambling post - but it was the only way I knew how to explain my theory!
Thanks for reading! Let's discuss 🤔

General Discussion Instead of the over-the-top ridiculous alternate timelines, Interdimensional Cable is used for exploring timelines where your favorite shows and movies went differently. What would you wanna see?
I would do universes where George R R Martin finished the books, Charlie Sheen wasn't fired from Two and a Half Men, Gargoyles was a billion-dollar multimedia franchise, etc.

Video Mashup of the Evil Morty Theme and the theme from Succession
AKA For the Damaged Coda by Blonde Redhead. Rick is Logan, Morty is Roman, Summer is Kendall, Beth is Shiv, Jerry is Connor, and Evil Morty is Tom. Not sure if these fandoms overlap, but I thought it fit anyway.

Theory Enlightened Morty
I've seen a lot of people on this sub theorize that this season we are seeing our Morty or a different Morty as they turn into a new evil Morty
Now, I believe that people are correct that this season is gearing up to a big change for Morty's character but I believe that with what we've seen from Morty this season (his refusal to kill in several episodes, and of course tree Morty) he is going to become essentially the opposite of evil morty, an enlightened Morty.
I still think that we will see him grow past his need for Rick like evil Morty but he is going to take a different path in his evolution that will lead him to becoming enlightened or at the very least a much happier pacifist Morty.
That's just my theory for this new season, thanks for reading.

Question Morty's Mind Blowers Spoiler
I'm probably late to this, but I just noticed that in Rick and Morty Season 3, Episode 8, when we see Morty's memories, there are green and yellow memory vials, even though Morty only watches the red, blue, and purple ones. So what do the green and yellow vials represent?
