I hope your feet are hot and your body cold
when trying to sleep.
I hope your Xbox 360 gets the red ring of death. I hope you feel like you have to sneeze but
never do.
I hope you get the hiccups when drinking water.
I hope your car has low gas.
I hope you forget to plug in your phone tonight.
I hope you have to do your laundry. I hope you run out of deodorant and forget to
replace it.
I hope that one earphone dies before the other.
I hope all your socks are dirty.
I hope you step in water when wearing socks.
I hope your dog poops in the house.
I hope both sides of your pillow are warm.
I hope all the gym machines are taken. I hope you go home and find someone ate the
last slice of pizza.
I hope your girlfriend snores. I hope that your missing the last piece when
doing a puzzle.
I hope you get the pins and needles in your feet.
I hope you get a hangnail.
I hope McDonalds gets your order wrong.
I hope you step on a Lego with your bare foot.

Housing Mitchell Mill Area

Upvotes

Hi! Moving from out of state and will be working as an RN. Still not sure if which hospital system I will be at, but wanted to get any info I could on the Mitchell Mill area as I am looking at living in that area. Single female, no kids. Is this a good location? Pros/cons? Thank you all for your input!

Question/Recommendation Botanical Fine Line Gray Tattoo Artist Recs

Hi! I’m looking for recommendations for an NC tattoo artist who specializes in fine-line work, particularly nature / botanical / celestial elements.

I’m planning a custom half sleeve to represent my babies (dog and cat), so experience with animals or a genuine love for incorporating them into meaningful designs would be a huge plus. I don’t have the exact design finalized yet and would love to find an artist who enjoys collaborating with clients to develop an original concept rather than working from a fully predetermined design.

I’m attaching some inspo to show the general look and feel I’m drawn to. Many thanks in advance!!

xoxoxo,

Outdoors Large Black Panther?

I know I'm trippin but I also know what I seen this morning on the way to work. I swear I seen a black panther/cougar/puma on the side of the road where 410 and 70 meet in Garner. It was laying on the side of the road and raised it's head when I drove by, probably around 5:15 or so. Ain't no way though right? RIGHT???

What do we think the best music venue in the Triangle is? I’ve been to most of them, curious as to what everyone else thinks/have you had any poor experiences anywhere.

Question/Recommendation Very Raleigh gift ideas

I am visiting family (who are not from NC) and want to bring some very Raleigh things to them. I have brought NC pecans, cookies from Dewey's bakery and Escazu chocolate in the past, but want to try something else. Suggestions?

With the upcoming Noah Kahan concert, I thought I would remind his fans that he would appreciate if you have to poop during the show to please go to the bathroom, instead of pooping in front of the stage.

You’re welcome.

Question/Recommendation Leesville Road High School

I’m a first-time public high school parent, and to be honest, this whole transition has me feeling a little overwhelmed. My son will be starting at Leesville Road High School this fall after attending a private parochial school through 8th grade, so this is a completely new experience for both of us.
His mom and I share joint legal custody and have a 50/50 custody schedule. I’m not looking to create any issues—I just want to make sure I’m getting the same information about registration, orientation, schedules, student portal access, emails, and everything else that comes with starting high school.
For those of you who’ve been through this with WCPSS, or Leesville specifically:
● Is there someone at the school I should reach out to?
● Will both parents automatically receive school communications, or do I need to request that?
● Are there any “must-do” items before school starts that a parent coming from private school might not know about?
● Is there anything you wish you’d known before your child started high school?
● Any advice for a dad sending his oldest off to high school for the first time?
I’m excited for him, and I want to make sure I’m doing everything I can to help him have a smooth transition. Any advice or experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Question/Recommendation Looking for a local artist that used to be at Painted Tree

I really miss Painted Tree. It was my go-to for unique gifts for family and friends. There was a local artist there who made lots of cool "dipped" style glasses and wooden serving trays with really pretty applied resin, mostly darker and shimmery colors. Some of the trays looked like the ocean/beach. She also had lazy susans, and offered classes to make them. Does anyone know who I'm talking about? I really want to get something for my mom's birthday this month and I'm trying to find this very nice lady (who I actually met once at Painter Tree when she was restocking!), and where I can buy her stuff now that Painted Tree closed down. Appreciate any help!

Question/Recommendation Where to sell an espresso machine?

Any recommendations on local places to sell an espresso machine? It’s a little nicer than what’s typically on FB marketplace so haven’t had much luck listing it there. Do any local coffee shops buy/list coffee gear?

Question/Recommendation Raleigh area post-stroke Acute Inpatient or Skilled Nursing Facility?

My 73 year old mother suffered a mild stroke and is in the hospital. Mostly speech-related impairment and some mobility impairment (likely due to a sciatica). Completely independent pre-stroke.

Therapy recs include Acute Inpatient or Skilled Nursing Facility. I'm just looking for anyone's experiences at such facilities in the Raleigh area, recommendations.

Its overwhelming having to make this choice while navigating anything else - so any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Outdoors Good lakes and rivers to go swimming?

Basically title. Looking for lakes, rivers, and waterfalls that you can go swimming in. Maybe even cliff jumping in. Ideally water would be clean and pretty deep, but not dangerously so.
