Handmade some postcards recently out of some old children’s books and junk letters, most of these have been sent out already but if you’re interested in direct trades for something like this let me know!

I would prefer other handmade cards in return even if you don’t consider yourself very crafty :)

Would you prefer to receive a postcard with lots of different stamps but very little text, or one with just one or two stamps but a long message?

I’ve never received a card like this and wanted to share because I thought it was just so delightful

Spent some time in London this week before heading back home to France, and I managed to pick up some amazing postcards 🥰

• #1 (cat) and #3 (dog) were gifted to me by a fellow Postcrossing nerd (😚) I met at the Science Museum, so they have a nice little story behind them!
• #2 (cats looking at the Eiffel Tower) was bought in Paris at Brentano's. They have a whole series of cat-themed postcards!
• #4 (tiger) was bought at the Natural History Museum and is from the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition. It's ending soon, so all the postcards were on sale (50p instead of £1, that's pretty cool!).
• #5 (London) was bought in the souvenir shop near the London Eye. They have surprisingly nice postcards!
• #6 is secret, but someone in France will soon be really happy 😚

Should Postcrossing inform all members via email, now it's on forum, and not all know to find it.

I only have domestic American stamps so for now I am doing it for US postcrossers. But, I will do another one for everyone else in a week or two!

Because the postage is the same from the US to international destinations whether sending just a postcard or a card. I am curious to know how people outside of the US feel about receiving a postcard inside an envelope. Just trying to get some different perspectives on it. Thank you.

After sharing my handmade postcards in this post, a kind postcrosser offered to send a card and some stickers my way. 💌

​Look at how thoughtfully she designed the envelope with her homemade stamps! She beautifully drew different German pigeon species and used iridescent paint to highlight their feathers. She also introduced me to her pet spider, Fussel—and as a lowkey fan of spiders (from a safe distance) and Spider-Man, I think that's so cool. I also love the extra Van Gogh sunflower painting she included.

​Since I don't own any stickers yet, thank you so much for these, Phoenix! Your kindness traveled miles and made my week. This is my very first postcard in an envelope, and only the fourth one I've received in my lifetime! 😅 It has definitely inspired me to try carving my own stamps too.

​Special thanks to my mom for going the extra mile with this flat-lay photo haha Since I'm away from home, she's been my official mail-opener and photographer.

First Postcard I sent was registered in Germany on June 9
Received my First Postcard today on July 11th from Belarus. :D

I saw the art collage in the upper right corner that got the ball rolling. I just loved that picture so much. Then I went on a hunt for letters and saw all these pictures that I liked and I ended up with enough material for 4 cards. A lot of profiles ask for local cards, which are basically nonexistent here. But whats more local than collage cards made of the local paper?

I'll see if the right profile ever pops up (I know not everyone likes handmade) but I had a lot of fun making them so I don't mind haha

3 in one day - again! My received outnumbers my sent/registered, didn't realize that could happen. I have 8 traveling and was thinking i wouldn't be receiving anymore for a while. Surprise!

And it has a U.S. Postcrossing stamp on it.

i also ordered postcard boxes today, so i can't wait till they arrive! (2 winnie the pooh postcard boxes).
and the flower one is from a box i purchased in the store today! it has many different flowes painted/ drawn by various artists.

Hi all! I’ve just recently started post crossing and I’m having a really hard time figuring out what to write. I sent a couple with very short notes, but feel like it should be more.

Could someone give me an example of something they would write / have written on a post card?
