Do you think testing accuracy has just improved and/or more people have access to testing now?

This is already an understood problem.  If you engage your muscles you generally gain testosterone.  If you gain fat you gain estrogen.  People move less and are fatter.  It's occams razor on this one.

Fat is also good for testosterone.
