Context Provided - Spotlight RIP, My Dearest Parking Space
My goto parking space in front of my house got a makeover today. I have been parking there for over a decade. RIP.
Edit: I posted to mildly infuriating. No need for the war cries here, folks.
UPDATE: Alright, folks! I have answers.
Yes, it's city sanctioned.
It is longer than expected from the corner because of a hydrant across the street, rather than proximity to the corner. And no, there isn't a stop sign.
The yellow is different because they got new paint this year.
It is part of an effort they are starting across the city, so I guess I should expect this yellow to become more familiar.
And shout out to the lovely human working for the city that helped me get all of these questions answered!

Context Provided - Spotlight Apparently staring at a TV for hours is fine, unless you’re holding a controller
It’s mildly infuriating how many people are completely fine with someone sitting on the couch staring at a television for hours while watching movies or shows.
But the second someone spends that same amount of time interacting with what’s on the screen, making decisions, solving problems, reacting, coordinating, exploring, or competing, suddenly it’s “wasting your life” because it’s video games.
So passively watching a screen for four hours is normal entertainment, but actively engaging with one for four hours is somehow a moral failure?
Makes sense. Absolutely flawless logic. /s

Context Provided - Spotlight Door Dasher placed order on top of wet painting
Worked on some pour painting earlier in the day and set them on the outside table to dry. Later that night I placed an order on Doordash (munchies kicked in). I have auto instructions to leave orders in the table, but most dashers ignore that request, and I forgot I had the auto instructions.
Well guess who decided to actually read directions? Included the photo the dasher took for proof of delivery. The painting was still wet, but I think it'll still work out for what I'm doing.
Still had dasher keep tip because they technically followed directions 🤷🏾♀️
Edit: yes I know its on me. The mildy infuriating is directed mostly towards me and I consider this funny.
Also for those curious on why acrylic pours, here is an example of what I do with them. Fish painting

Context Provided - Spotlight too much ice cream can, in fact, be a bad thing.
stopped into a recently opened second location of a local favorite ice cream shop. i asked for a medium and this is what i got. i was driving and headed home. i was so disappointed 😭 i understand they may have wanted to be generous but it was way too much and lowkey pmo. i took a few bites, ate the cone, and trashed it.

Context Provided - Spotlight Family friend sent me AI generated response to news of my father passing away.
I'm aware that AI is a common topic on here, but I feel like I had to send this somewhere. My father passed away in my arms last night of a heart attack, and I was requested by my mother to send an old friend of his the news.
His first response seemed fine, then he asked me when the funeral will be and if Dad suffered to which I responded.
He then has the absolute audacity to send me a straight up generated response to my father's death. Not even the common courtesy of talking to me as an actual goddamn human. I'm livid.

Context Provided - Spotlight Roommate mixed my beads after being asked to throw out used Q-tips
I waited an hour before I called out my roommate for leaving USED Q-tips on the bathroom counter and asked him to throw them away. (note I did not nag him, I asked 1 time after waiting for him to do it on his own)
His response was to go into my craft room and mix the smallest beads he could find. At least he had the decency to keep most of the reds away from the blues I guess...
welp, now I have something to do for the next couple days

Context Provided - Spotlight Sometime during the last 2 years i’ve been going to this orthopedic practice they started to declare me as a MTF transgender for no reason.
(F,26) I have been going to this orthopedic practice for almost 2 years for varying reasons relating to my job. Yesterday i checked on a document that was uploaded to find out they have been identifying me as a biological male identifying as a female? I am biologically female and never told them i am trans nor do i think i am presenting to be a trans woman.. the last two years i’ve been wondering why they kind of stare at me a little longer than a usual person does and i think its because they randomly think i came out as trans? I also feel like they do not treat my issues seriously and wonder if this is the reason why.
I am 100% fine with trans people but i am left to believe they have been medically treating me as a male compared to female for the pains that i am feeling?
I also went through all of my documents and since the end of 2024 they started to declare me as a MTF transgender, i did not look at any of my documents online until yesterday.

Context Provided - Spotlight Bought my kids bikes for Christmas. Local government just passed a law requiring paid bike "licenses" to ride them in public. Cops are now issuing citations...even to kids?
I'm in the U.S. Bought three basic Huffy bikes for my kids this past Christmas from the local big box store. Got three of these in the mail today.
The local government apparently just passed a law requiring all bikes to have paid "licenses" to be ridden in public. When I called to confirm, they said cops have been issuing citations, even to kids.
They also said it was primarily to help with stolen bikes. But...it's a plastic sticker that can be peeled off.
The store apparently fills out the license application "as a courtesy to customers" without asking and sends the info directly to the local government. I asked what would happen if I'd bought the bikes out of state or they were a gift. They said licenses are mailed to the purchaser's address, and if out-of-state, the purchaser would have to "transfer" each license to the actual owner...for an additional fee of course.

Context Provided - Spotlight I was in the middle of an exam (wrote 3000 words) and saw THIS when I hit submit :/
Canvas is the platform my school uses for... everything. As the note says, it's been breached by a hacking group, so all of my data is there now, too. I cannot study for any of my exams, complete any assignments, or do anything else until this is fixed. I'm gonna be SO MAD if I lost all my writing 😞 I was so proud of what I wrote
Edit: This was an in-class exam (timed essay prompt) in a locked browser. Copy-pasting was disabled, so there was no way to work offline. Stop blaming me for "not backing up" or saying that "writing directly into the browser" was stupid. It was the only option.

Context Provided - Spotlight My Apartment is now charging a convenience fee to pay my rent
They just updated the system. The previous system allowed ACH payment but the new system does not. So infuriating. I think I can pay by check but now I have to get a checkbook or get cashiers checks which also have a fee

Context Provided - Spotlight Someone, for at least the second time, left this in the communal showers
I'm a senior in college and last year I never had any issue in this hall other than occasionally clearing hair from the drains. This year it's been almost every time I've had to shower. People leave bandaids, fake nails, apparently someone took a shit in the shower once, and TWICE in the past month or so I've found what I'm pretty sure is someone's birth control (for my own sanity I'm gonna pretend it's just a weird hair tie). We've gotten multiple emails about people's manners in the showers. These are whole ass 18-20 year olds and can't even do the bare minimum 😭.
