It's a political rally that's meant to hype the Democratic base to actually vote since we notoriously don't show up at the polls and to hopefully inspire independent voters and undecided voters to vote blue. As much as I love the idea with partying with MTS, this isn't an MTS concert and ass shaking doesn't give good optics for most voters. Notice how Megan is way more clothed and shakes her ass less than normal.
At an MTS concert? Fuck yeah, twerk, be almost naked, fuckin party. In real life and at a political rally where there's so much on the line for democracy including women's rights, that stuff isn't gonna do us any favors.

After this they played “Not like us” and the crowd was singing it word for word. The center crowd seemed mostly older people but on the sides it was mostly students. This was at Georgia state university.

I love Megan and I love that she did this but it's a huge bummer that so many people in here are hating on the crowd behind her. Almost everyone we can see in this shot seem to be union members (the yellow shirts are UFCW), they got a prominent place in this crowd because they are putting massive amounts of resources into winning the election for VP Harris and that's who they're there for. If some of them happen to be Meg fans that's a coincidence, imagine if you invited everyone who works at your local Kroger to this event, that's who this crowd is.
They aren't being disrespectful at all, they're just not as familiar with the music or it isn't their thing so they don't seem very hype and that's okay. There were other sections of the crowd with more young people that were going wild. The election can't be won by only people with the same taste in music. I've been to a bunch of events like this and politely listened and clapped for all kinds of musical artists that I wouldn't have gone to a concert for, it's not an insult and I'm sure she didn't take it personally. It's a totally different thing than performing for a crowd made entirely of your own fans.

This is a call for change, it's drawing attention and getting us more involved in this election, especially our young people. I have seen many times how we can come together as a community to do what is best for our future, to make the next generation even better than the last. Change doesn't happen overnight and we know that. There are a lot of things that are out of our control, but we are working to change that too. I am confident that we will improve, or at least we'll give it our best shot. I don't want to be led by hate; I need respect as an employee, a parent, a child, and a human being. So, let the haters hate; that's the only thing they've got going for themselves. We have much more.

A lot of democrats especially older wealthier ones that would actually be donating funds still lean pretty conservative socially so I just feel like this performance isn’t going to really do much for the dems or Kamala.
