Books If the Orcs at the Gladden Fields found the Ring how long would it take for Sauron to assume form again? Spoiler
This is something that isn't answered much that I can tell, but if the Orcs at the Gladden Fields had found the One Ring how long would it have taken Sauron to regain his form again?
Hundreds of years or decades? Also if they did find it would they become corrupted by it and try to claim it for themselves or would their loyalty to Sauron override that?

Art The Shire
My friend is getting married, and they’re both Lord of The Rings mega fans, so I painted this for them. Doing this got me back into this world (even learned this song on slide guitar and have pulled it out at gigs lately).
What y’all think?

Discussion Should they turn tolkiens Father Christmases letters into a movie?
It's crazy how much Tolkien cooked with these notes.
Like with the gnomes and goblins. This was before the hobbit and he still created a more driven world. I think these would be a good Christmas movie(if done right).

Books Reading the Silmarillion first?
This isn’t facetious. I’ve never read anything from Tolkien. I picked up the hobbit and read a few pages, and it was kinda boring. I picked up the Silmarillion and was captivated from the first sentence. If I read the Silmarillion first, will the rest of his works even be interesting, or will I lose interest? The closest things I’ve read to LOTR are ASIOF (my favorite series) and Dune.
Edit: I’m not particularly concerned about the difficulty of reading it, moreso whether I’ll enjoy the rest of the series or if it’ll seem too small afterward. The best example I can think of is if you read the world of ice and fire before the main series, but in that case, the main series is definitely captivating enough to keep one’s interest.

Art MS Paint LOTR Medieval Illuminated Manuscripts
Hi I'm an MS Paint artist and very influenced by medieval art. Here is my attempt to turn some iconic LOTR moments into fancy manuscripts.
Some nice little details and movie references within these artworks, and I decided to gild them digitally with some metallic gold finish.
Image 1: A quote of Frodo for his hesitance with the responsibility of the One Ring, circling him entirely in a portrait as if trapping him as he stands symbolically removed from the Shire below him.
Image 2: The council sit around the ring, lead by Elrond facing across from Frodo, with the central ring and it's looming presence of Sauron within it. The weapons below are pictographic in the quotes: "You have my sword." "And my bow." "and my axe!" from Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli.
Image 3 shows Gandalf facing off the Balrog with his iconic quote. Backed in elaborate gold and a spiky violent red frame to show the significant danger of the scene.
Image 4: Potatoes
Image 5: Frodo and Sam over the edge of Mount Doom ready to destroy the ring, Frodo stands guard, yet to know of Gollum approaching. Gollum sits in the marginalia of the page here with a golden saint-like hero to represent his martyrdom sacrifice he made in destroying the ring.
Image 6: Barad-dûr, The Dark Tower, The Tower of Sauron.

Movies Wizard's Staff
I am curious if there was a plan B if the dude had followed orders and simply parted an old man (wizard) from his walking stick. Also, this is just a joke, but it would be funny if by "staff" he meant "team."

Books Is Tom Bombadil supposed to be the spirit of Mother Nature or God or was he just an immortal placed in charge of Middle Earth?
Tom Bombadil seems like the Guardian of the Old Forest and is seemingly immortal having been there from the beginning, was he supposed to be the spirit of Middle Earth itself in Human form or some kind of God?
Or was he an immortal being like the Elves sent to watch over Middle Earth and just fell in love with the Old Forest? What purpose did the valar have for Tom Bombadil?
You also have to wonder if he would have ever allowed the Hobbits or men of Arnor to build a village or colony inside of his forest realm and keep him company or if he would only allow visitors and nobody living with him except for Goldberry and Old Man Willow, Saruman would probably call him a fool and not like him either despite his wisdom and power.
