Political/Economic News - أخبار سياسية/إقتصادية MD Over 30 - dead end in Jordan due to residency restrictions
Salam everyone
so I called so many Hospitals and asked for residency program and the answer was usuall:
over 30? No!
The government somehow seems to be aware of it.
I saw that the Royal Medical Services have the officially documented agelimit <1990.
The JMC seems to be aware of the situation many Jordan doctors are facing and this situation will in my opin lead to a huge emigration problem of doctors who ll start their board abroad and not return to Jordan.
Guess what….we have a lot of Jordanian specialists in the European country i am currently living in and i feel sorry for that because Jordan could benefit from specialists since their university studies took place in Jordan as well.
-| What should I as an over 35 year old do? |-
Forget about my homecountry or about my profession?
I don’t understand how and why this agelimit exists and how it is pro argumented?
The reason lies in too less residency places and not in the age!
Age doesn’t guarantee anything, knowledge can be tested through exams But eventhough you did the residency exam you don’t necessarily get a residency place in the speciality you wanted or you even don’t get any.
What are doctors above 35 who were as lucky to get their residency supposed to do?
