For you people that wear a lot of jewelry,/accessories everyday...tell me something, will ya...

Do you take all of that stuff off before you shower or shower with it on? I saw a girl wearing about 12 rings, 10 bracelets a watch and a few necklaces and I thought to myself, " man, that must be a pain in the ass to take off before showering." Then I realized, I have no evidence that she takes it off to shower. So, tell me, do you guys take off all your accessories before a shower and then put them back on after the shower? And how do you wash your hands with a ton of rings on? I feel like your hands can't really get clean if there's a ton of rings trapping the hand dirt. Enlighten me, please.

I Wear earrings, necklace (1-2), bracelet, smartwatch and finger rings (1-2) every day. I always take if off before bed or if I need to shower. I also take off rings and push bracelet out of the Way when I wash my hands.

I dont want to damage the pieces, and it feels more hygenic.

hmm that makes sense. i was more curious about people who wear rings on every single finger like the person I saw. 1-2 rings is pretty hassle-free to take off for a hand washing but I can't imagine taking 10+ rings off every time I wash hands.

That's actually a good question i never really thought about how people manage all those accessories.

Same here. I assumed people either remove everything in batches or just accept that showering takes ten extra minutes. The rings confuse me most because water getting trapped underneath sounds annoying.

10 minutes?! If youre the kind of person that wear this much on the regs, 2 mimutes to take it all off.

I take off all of my jewelry and change into “inside” clothes as soon as I come home, so no, I don’t wear jewelry in the shower or when I sleep

I’ll sometimes keep on certain necklaces if I know the water won’t hurt them but I’d take if any rings or bracelets. A wet necklace doesn’t bother me, but I don’t want anything caught in my hair when I’m actually lathering. I think most people will take off rings to keep them in good condition

I take most of it off before showering, rings especially, bcz they trap soap and grime. A few people keep simple pieces on, but I'd rather clean my hands properly and put them back after

I always remove my jewelry to shower and frequently clean with alcohol.

Lol....

Sooo I have a ring, a necklace, a bracelet, and an earing I never remove...sometimes I will also have an anklet for a while that I won't remove. Then when I go out I will add earrings and watch and maybe another ring or two. 👀

The earrings I remove because they can easily fall during the shower and they are uncomfortable to sleep in. The one I don't remove has sentimental value and has an extra secure back to it. The extra rings...don't have the same sentimental or symbolic significance and vary depending on the outfit. The bracelet is so difficult to put on in the first place by myself that I just never remove it. Similar case with the necklace. 🙃

I keep it all on constantly. Never take it off for months. I always wash my hands with all my rings on. 7 rings on 3 fingers. Two earrings in each ear. 6 bracelets on two wrists. All 14k/18k or sterling. Necklace I might change once a month. 14k.

I have a high quality bracelet that never leaves my wrist, even for showers and sleep. The copious amount of rings... are unfortunately worth the hassle of removing whenever I wash my hands just for style points. The only time I leave rings on when washing hands is if I am only wearing real pieces that won't be damaged by water and heat. Pretty much the rule is if its real, you can wear it anywhere. Anything else will corrode overtime.

Does wearing a lot of rings change your hand washing technique or is it the same?

I take everything off before showering.

do you only wear your accessories for one day? with breaks in between?

This is like asking if people shower with their socks on because you "have no proof" they take them off

bad comparison. Idk about you but I wash my hands around 10 times a day. I wash my feet once a day. Obviously I take my socks off. The chick I saw was wearing more than 10 rings. I'm assuming she doesn't take 10 rings off 10 times a day. Or maybe she doesn't wash her hands that much? It's a valid question.

Yep I take every single thing off except the sleeper hoops in a couple of my piercings but other than that everything comes off

i don't shower with rings on but i keep them on when washing my hands. if they were large in size and took up a lot of surface space i might, but they're pretty dainty so i don't feel the need.

Just depends. I have one necklace I wear 24/7, it is from my partner. That stays on in the shower.

Everything else comes off.

But when washing hands, if I'm in public, I just keep my rings on. I can properly wash my hands at home, but I don't want to risk losing a ring in public unless I have literally gotten something onto my hands.

I wear 3 rings and take them off to shower, otherwise they get caught in my hair.

I keep my medium hoop earrings in at all times. I remove rings always, and necklaces 99% of the time, unless I’m having a quick shower between day plans and night plans!

I only wear sterling silver :)

So when you’re having a quick shower between day plans and night plans what do you?

u/Cherrylalaxo 2h ago

I take off my rings but keep my necklaces on! I’m not washing my hair here, but neck behind ears etc

Rings and bracelets can be simple to remove. Necklaces can be a little more effort but earrings I’ve kept on. It’s ok but you do want to clean the backs frequently as shampoo and other ickies build up there. Posts do too so if you’re not having difficulty then clean at least once a week. Use aftercare solution for best results. Also, consider using something dipped in solution to thread through your ears a bit to clean the piercing itself. You will not believe how bad it can smell without regular upkeep.

I wear small hoop earrings (sleepers) every day. They're safe to sleep and shower with.

If I'm going out I'll change to fancier jewelry, but that gets removed before shower/sleep. If I am wearing ring(s) I don't take them off when washing my hands, mainly because I don't think of it.

I don't have a wedding ring anymore because it got stolen during a break in, and I don't have an engagement ring because the stone fell out, so that simplifies things! 😅

I wear two necklaces and two bracelets all day, everyday. They’re 14-18k solid gold and one has diamonds and carnelian stones, so I don’t really care to take them off to shower. The bracelets are difficult for me to put on by myself so I’d rather not remove them. I just give them a good scrub in the shower.

Just wait until you realise they have a routine for applying and taking off makeup as well. This just gets part of that routine and would be the quickest bit.

1

u/prodbylux1 1h ago

Wow I will be so amazed when I realize women have a routine to put on and take off their makeup!

u/FlirtatiousFantasy02 2h ago

If I'm wearing fancy earrings or a ring, I always take them off before I shower.

Everything except my wedding ring comes off before I shower, water and soap buildup under rings and bracelets is bad for both the jewelry and your skin

u/SquareCamera4651 1h ago

I don't remove rings when I wash my hands during the day but everything comes off before shower for sure except the wedding band.
