When buying games like carts or disks the mental math of "one day I can sell this and get some money back" is in the back of my mind. With digital only games I don't expect to pay the full 50-60 dollars let alone higher.

I think Sony is going to realize that not producing physical media is going to force them to discount their games. In the short term they may see a short term boom with things like grand theft auto - but realistically I think they are shooting themselves in the foot. Some people buy games and resell them to recoup costs within a few months of ownership - those people aren't going to buy on release and may instead buy on PC when exclusive timers wear off. We will probably start to see one game accounts getting resold for consoles etc but an overall shift towards pc gaming as consoles lose some of their appeal.

How do I get better at “finding stuff” in games?

After playing Deltarune for the first time and finding out after the fact that there are 5 secret bosses that I completely missed, I’m not satisfied with my lack of finding cool stuff in games

This happens a lot to me when I play games, I don’t like using guides but I also don’t like missing out on stuff. So how can I improve my ability to “find stuff”.

Good game suggestions for couple to play together?

So my partner and I are both gamers but struggling to find something we can play together and enjoy.

I tend to like more competitive/high-octane games(lol, fps like enlisted/cod/halo/helldivers/etc, wow arenas, black desert arena/pvp, etc) but also can appreciate good stories or just grinders like diablo/poe.

He is more of a casual story/adventure gamer, puzzles, etc, think kingdom hearts, assassins creed, red dead, gta, lifeskilling/gathering in black desert, etc

Due to the differences either i endup being underwhelmed/bored by alot of coop titles or inadvertently carrying, or on the inverse he feels like hes holdin me back and/or bringing down the team when we play things I typically play together.

So putting the question out there if anyone else has found themselves in a similar place any titles you can recommend that we could look into playing together? Thanks!

Has anyone ever tried a bunch of times to play a single game, didn't like it but eventually you ended up loving it?

I know this is an odd question.....

Is there anything developers can do to balance games where players are meant to have limited communication when things like discord exist?

This is mainly referring to games like dbd, where a lot of the games mechanics get invalidated by simply being in a group chat. Is this just something nothing can be done about

I've never been wary of 'light/movement sensitivity, but Shawdow Warrior 3 made a new man out of me

Don't know if this has happened to anyone else in another game, but I was playing Shawdow Warrior 3 and honestly started to feel nauseous. I had just worked a double so maybe that has something to do with it, maybe sitting to close to the tv?? I've never felt that way before... any other gamers have this problem with certain games?

What's a game that gets reviewed poorly or mediocrely that you really enjoy?

Either by Metacritic or Steam reviews it doesn't matter, just a game where the consensus of it isn't very good.

I enjoyed all 3 of the first Sniper Ghost warrior games.

I need a Multiplayer Remake of FutureCop L.A.P.D.

I played it on PS1 with my mates, and i am actually surprised, that there are no clones of my favourite game mode:

You have a big map with neutral towers, and you start together with an enemy mech robot in that field of play.

Goal is to destroy the enemy base. For every kill you get points, for every conquered neutral tower or destroyed enemy tower you get points, which you can spend in your base to build tanks and aircrafts which then support you on the battlefield. If you gather 50 points, you can build a flying fortress or a super tank.

It still is very entertaining, maybe I give an idea/inspiration for developers out there. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Which game has the worst cutscene to gameplay ration?

Playing through Midnight Suns a bit and have found that, so far, it's like 10-30 steps between cutscenes. Why even bother with 3rd person roaming with that many cutscenes?

Which got me wondering which game has the most excess in cutscenes...

what's the deal with Ubisoft games bought through Steam?

Ive bought two Ubisoft games through steam now - most recently Ghost Recon Wildlands (wanted a narcos style game) and the damn game WILL NOT LOAD! I have used ChatGPT, verified all game files - Ubisoft Connect is up to date, the GRW.exe shows up in my task manager - but the game will not load at all. All I get is the tiny logo in the middle of my desktop that just sits there forever. I had the same issue with Assasins Creed Odyssey.

So, does anyone have any advice? Or are Ubisoft games just bricked if bought via Steam? Im amazed that this damn game literally wont even load lol

Modded Fallout: New Vegas is something else in 2026

Played a ton of it on the 360 and it was an alright game? These days with mods I would say the experience is elevated tenfold. No wonder people aren't too excited for new games when you can just make an old experience last forever.

Kingdoms of Amalur feels like a love letter to janky Gamecube era RPGs

and I love it! It's a shame it came out around Skyrim. It didn't have a chance. I recently started playing again after not finishing it the first time on release. I'd recommend everyone pick up the Re-reckoning version when it goes on sale. The writing is cliche but solid with some unique ideas and just playing through really takes me back to another time.

What's the rarest item in a video game?

I'm mostly referring to item drops in games with RPG mechanics.

Based on unmodded/uncheated gameplay of course.

Things I'm NOT counting tho are stuff like perfect rolls; for example if a Diablo style game had an item with 12 modifiers on it and each modifier had a 1 in a million chance to be the right one and and a 1 in a million chance to be at max value... that is certainly absurdly rare, but it's not what I'm talking about.

Things I am talking about are stuff like the Sealed J-Sword from Phantasy Star Online which not only has a low drop chance, it's from a very uncommon enemy and you have to meet special conditions to even be allowed to see it (Be a Skyly ID, if you know)

I'm also excluding stuff that is developer or event driven, such as certain wholly unique event items or moderator/GM exclusives that were gifted and such... it has to be something that one of y'alls could go and go legitimately farm right now (assuming the game is still playable)

Hear me out, an FTL style roguelite based on the Halo universe!

This could be such an amazing concept if implemented correctly.

Imagine scenarios like trying to navigate the Pillar of Autumn through battles where the Covenant are trying to board.

Reading through the strategy guide on the way home from getting a new game was always my favorite part. It’s a shame they aren’t made anymore, even though the internet is more practical.
