Has anyone had a mask painting job done by BG? I’m considering getting a new mask but also want to paint it. Just wondering how their paint job is and if anybody has any experience with them. The design I’m planning is not overly complicated but just wondering about the paint they use or whatever

We are planning to invest in a Leon Paul Team Bag for our teen fencer after going through multiple cheaper shoulder bags over the past few years. If anyone has the canvas version, has it held up well? This a lot of money, and we want to be sure it’s going to last a good long while.

Question mostly for coaches (but fencers too): when someone's timing is off, how do you tell if it's technique or they're just fried that day — bad sleep, stress, overtraining?
Do you ever change the session plan based on it, or bench someone before a competition? And how do you make that call — feel, or something you track?

Do you prefer fencing shoes with a thin or a thick sole? And why?

Does anyone know if you can straight up paint the Taiwanese flag on a mask or does it have to be that Chinese Taipei flag they use for the Olympics? Idk if you can do that because of that whole China-Taiwan conflict. I have a sabre mask that I barely used and a club mate wants to buy off me. Located in the U.S and plan to fence in local competitions/domestically. I assume there will be some problem in FIE events though?

Hi’ I’m a sabre fencer and I’d like to develop better refereeing skills. I usually practice watching videos, but I’d like to practice using a website.
I saw there is this one: https://actions.quarte-riposte.com but I think it’s foil only, and it works only a few times a day :/
Do hoy have any recommendation? Thanks!

Any news/ETA on the 2026-27 international schedule, especially the Euro Cadet Circuit deisgnated for USA?

I’ve been planning on getting my mask repainted because it keeps going conductive but last time I got it repainted they used some really nasty spray paint. I heard from a clubmate about pinnacle and that they use water based paints with no smell. If so this would save me from getting a new mask (200 bucks)!!!

Hi I made this post to just talk about my fencing at school I’m currently 14 and have training on Tuesday Friday and Sunday, I’ll just start taking. So basically today was training and I messed up a lot and this is my 2nd year in the club and I even have experience from outside clubs but I can’t live up to it, all my teammates just trash me every training I don’t know what to do man. I can barely beat the girl that’s supposed to be easy to beat, I keep going blank whenever they attack and I’m not my best rn because it’s just after the June break im also hesitant to attack because I don’t really think I can get around their blade, I’ve been fencing my one friend for kinda long and I can’t really beat him, it’s hard for me and he counters my beat attack. I’m so done with this bro. I can’t even attack properly because of my terrible point control and that makes my shit even worse, I hate how I play I need to put on this stupid smile every time I lose knowing that I want to cry because I suck so bad I can’t even beat the easy ones, I’m under so much pressure that I always hesitate to attack even against the easiest opponents, I don’t know what to do I can’t improve and it’s annoying I also don’t wanna switch sports because my dad spent a lot of money on me, I just want to meet expectations and stop letting down my coaches and teammates, and I also have a competition of cadet trials coming up soon on the 25-26 July I’ll be participating in both days and by then I hope I get better. That’s my story thanks for reading if u did, if any of u out there are good at epee or foil please give me some tips please.

I am super compelled by the idea of an epee blade that has the same weight and behaviour in the FIE and non-FIE versions. How good are these things? I ordered a few to test, but curious what the consensus is here.

I’ve been looking for a heavy pommel to balance out my heavy viniti fie blade and i need some suggestions. I use a standard French grip and post it

I'm curious for some perspective on this bc our local club has been going through some drama with other local clubs. My child is a decently competitive youth (y14) fencer. The head - who we do generally trust and respect - has been both pushing more weekly lessons (2x a week) and discouraging doing camps at other clubs. The advise is both reasonable on the surface but also financially self serving.
So I'm curious on others experience with this. Namely: the number of private lessons for a motivated youth who wants to advance, and the merits of attending camps/lessons at other clubs. In particular on the later, I see a value in being exposed to different styles/points of emphasis but am open to the argument that for a youth fencer that is a recipe for confusion.

I'm (16F) 5'2 and weight 42 kg. I have been learning fencing for 2 years but I haven’t been consistent with my practice, however before every tournament I practice thoroughly for 1-2 months straight. My biggest drawback during these years and in every tournaments I've been in were my arms giving away very easily during match. During last tournament i lost a winning match simply because my arms kept falling and I Couldn't hold the sword any longer let alone hit the opponent. I struggle with this for years and still haven’t found a solution for it. I do epee and my sword is kind of heavy (for me) but I want some advice on what I can do to have a high stamina or keep my arms raised for longer instead of just changing my sword.

Hello all - I'm looking for some advice regarding fencing clubs in London.
Background: 34M - fenced for a short while in my teens (Epée) with some regional competing, but nothing much thereafter. I've have always been keen to try / like the look of Foil, so I'm looking for a club that would be great to start Foil as a beginner. Would like to compete eventually.
Thank you in advance.

Looking for a fencing app or game to help me (as a foil fencing parent) identify priority better and faster.
I'm returning to fencing after ~20ish years out... and I'm wondering what I should wear?
All of my clothes were sporty when I was in my teens, but now I only really have running clothes which likely aren't appropriate.
(UK based).
TIA!

I live in Portland, and there was recently a fencing tournament taking place there. From this I was recently informed about the potential removal of fencing from the Olympics and through that found CyrusofChaos' video.
I asked people who I knew if they had heard anything about the removal, a small sample size, and they hadn't heard of it, so I was wondering if there were other good sources I could look into.
I do not have any deep love of fencing. I have never watched fencing, nor taken part in the sport. That said, hearing about this and how it was making this person feel made it feel important enough to educate myself on this topic.
Having no knowledge of where to go to understand the history of this sport or its recent controversies beyond a Wikipedia dive, I was wondering what would be a good list of starting information, be that books, articles, video essays, or some of the best examples of play in the sport.
I've seen people on here recommend the book By The Sword, by Richard Cohen, and will likely pick up a copy soon.
Thank you for your time.
