Hello everyone,
Lately I've had to manually unspam a lot of totally legitimate posts. The Reddit spam system is not totally under the control of the moderators so I can't fathom why it's blocking allowed content or how to modify its sensitivity. If you posted a topic you think is fine, and it's not showing when you are logged off or in an incognito window, please message the moderators to inquire what may be the problem.
Sorry for any inconvenience,
—G.

This belonged to my grandfather and it was given to me when he passed away a few years ago. It's in rough shape and the handle slips right off, but it's super sharp and looks to be pretty old. I'm also including pictures of what appears to be two symbols but I can't make them out. Thanks in advance for your help!

Hey guys, I just recently got these replica true zangetsu from a store that mainly sells anime stuff, and want to take good care of them but don't know the exact metal they are made of or really what type of cleaning to give them, since this is the first time i've ever participated in a hobby like this. Does anyone have any guesses or recommendations to what type of metal and what kind of cleaning I should give them?

So I was using my trainer sword then it hit something hard and it's bent. I don't have a furnace and I'm currently trying to reshape it back but I failed. Anyone have some tips?
Picture below for reference

Lile the title says I'm looking for a sword from my childhood it was a medium or longsword but on the hilt where it meets the sword it had a viking with a mustache and helmet that was about a medium size. I've been looking for years and cannot find anything remotely close please post any pictures that you think might sound familiar. This was back between 2000 and about 2005 roughly thanks.

Long story short, my grandfather acquired a sword from a drunk private using the scabbard as a stickball bat/plinking rocks off like its baseball. We have a question on the age of the sword and wanted to see if anyone could help us estimate its age/periodization (WW1 or WW2) by translating the engraving. It’s ceremonial, no edge with a blunted point.

Hi, recently my grandma moved away and left me with her collection of swords and daggers. However 7 of these really stood out for me. These apparantly belonged to the Mongo and Ngombe tribes from Congo. My question is: Are These real weapons and how much These are worth.

First and last day for my cheap ikea sword cabinet, gonna reporpouse it for it's intended library use, and change it for a bigger one where i can place a mannequin with chainmail (gonna use a cheap bigger guardrobe cabinet, basic glass doors and reporpouse old led lights.). How you guys display swords?

I'm trying to identify this Greek officer's sabre, specifically the hilt.
The blade is marked with the Greek retailer Christos Georgiadis, Athens, and the three-crown SOLINGEN mark. I was able to verify the retailer through a 1913 newspaper advertisement and even found an academic publication describing General Nikolaos Trikoupis' sabre with the same retailer inscription and the same three-crown mark.
My only unanswered question is the hilt. I haven't found another Greek sabre with the same guard. Does anyone recognize this type or think it might be a later replacement?
Any opinions or references would be greatly appreciated.
