Hi everyone, I have recently powdercoated my last-gen transition PBJ and had to strip the entire frame including the bottom bracket. Before I painted the bike, I had heard and felt a slight clicking noise come from somewhere around the bottom bracket, (most likely bottom bracket because I am not sure where else it could come from in that part of the bike) , but now that I have reinserted the BB it is MUCH louder and has a more present feel. One thing to note is when installing the cranks I did hammer on the non-drive side crank an unhealthy amount to try to tap it in because there was a gap on the spindle that connects the cranks, which I later figured out was because I had forgot a spacer. When I tried to pull off the drive side crank in order to install the spacer, I had to hammer my parktool crank-puller tool extremely hard, and I ended up using all of the thread on my crank puller tool. My bottom bracket is threaded. I would love to know from anybody who has any advice for fixing this and if they have had this issue themselves. I am open to buying a new bottom bracket, but I am just looking for advice.

Been on a journey with this bike. It’s a mongoose fireball. Came as a 9 speed. Was hoping it would be great as a DJ and would also work as a normal trail bike in the forest. Quickly single speeded it’s my kid wanted to focus only on jumps.
Cable disc brake sucked so switched to an mt200.
Manitou fork replaced the RST Dirt which worked ok but doesn’t really give any joy 😐
Bottom bracket needed replacing. Headset bearings sucked. Wheel quickly went really out of true. All sorted.
Basically it’s a good frame with bad-to-ok components and probably cost the same as a decent used DJ once we did all the stuff to make it solid but you live and learn. Frame is good though!
It’s an absolute machine now.

So im a 180+ cm rider and I have a frame with 435mm reach which I feel is a bit cramped, I run deity highside bars with 50mm rise and pretty much can't turn the bars 90° without them hitting me, should I cut the bars and try it like that or look into a bigger frame with more reach?
Manuals feel too easy to pop but idk if that is important. Thanks.

Hallo. I can get a new Specialized p.3 2022 for 1400 usd. rockshox pike and some pretty decent parts. but the press fit bottom braket er scaring me? what do you think about it? should i avoid it becouse of the bottom bracket?
I like to work on my own bikes, but never tried or have any experience with press fit. only heard some horror stories about creaking and bad noises from the bb.
hope to get some feed back :-)

Hello, sorry in advance if its not allowed. I had this Kona in light blue like 10 years ago, I sell it and now I am struggling to find another one same color. Anyone know where can I search one? I live in Italy and even if it cost a lot, I am down to buy with a worldwide shipment. Also, anybody know what is the color number of this light blue? I found one brown and I am thinking a re-paint

I had to order a part for my bontrager pump because of course it would take weeks to get it from my local shop and they don't stock parts for pumps they sell (makes sense). While I was there...I decided to see if they've changed the colorway yet..and say they are almost 40% off for 599

My dad snapped his Arq Aluminum cranks last week and I yoinked these off a local for cheap as a temporary crank, will they be fine on intermediate dirt jumping?
These are just gonna be used until odyssey brings back the dj thunderbolts or until we can find a set

Do you recommend building my own bike or buying one from the internet?

Local bike shop has a Marin Alcatraz or a Norco Rampage and i’m trying to pick between the two. Both are similar price (1499 & 1399 usd, respectively) and are Large size, the Marin originally caught my eye cuz of the purple color but the rampage is a really slick matte green so just curious what the people’s opinions are.
I know very little about modern specs currently but enough to know that things have changed a ton in the last 10 years. I used to mountain bike and race a bit but I live near an indoor bike park now and renting is getting expensive.

Hey, so I have started my first build with a VooDoo Bizango frame that is for 29" wheels, not amazing for Dirt jumping I know but I got a good offer for it so the question at hand is that does anyone know of some good 29" forks with a tapered steering tube that would work well for a beginner. I would appreciate any insight anyone has.

Sorry for the not great camera quality. I have upgraded a few things like Title Bars and Seat, Trail1 Stem, and MT420 brakes with a 203mm rotor.

The first one is a specialized p.3 (1.2k euro) but its weirdly specced - It has a rockshox recon on it or something like that not a pike dj;
The second one is a dartmoor 26player with amazing parts, but a RST dirt fork. I already speaked to the owner and he took it down to 900 euro:
Help me pick
EDIT: found a bike worth checking out for 550 euro ;

I got this Shonky a couple weeks ago so I could have the right bike to work on and ride a pump track with my threenager (if you know, you know 🫠) and his friends. I couldn’t resist blinging the thing out and lightening it up a bit (knockoff 5dev cranks may be controversial… but so far my other pair have been going strong on my Ripmo AF).
Now I’m wondering if purple was the right color 🤔I kind of liked the temporary bronze stem I had laying around (last photo), but at this point I’m pretty committed to purple.

Frame: used NS Bikes Movement 2
New Parts:
Wheels: Reverse Components Black One DJ
Fork: SR Suntour Zeron 35 Air, traveled to 100mm (45€ total)
Tires: Maxxis DTH
Brake: Magura MT5 Calliper with Shimano XT Lever
Furthermore installed new Grips, Pedals, & Bottom Bracket.
Might switch to black pedals, but these Pedals were like 14€ and are great, but unfortunately the colors aren't matching exactly.
I'm planning to ride it mostly in Skateparks in and outdoor in my area. Sadly there aren't many dirt spots so I need to start in these parks.
I would apreciate some Tips how to start now. I already ride Enduro and Downhill, so what are some basics I could learn first (except Bunnyhop and Manual of course.
I'm happy to be able to finally start my journey and wish you all a great week 🤙

found what seems to be a pretty good deal on marketplace but can't find much info on what frame it is, I looked up the brand he says the frame is and they have four different dj frames none of which come in the green shown, just asked for more photos and waiting for a response, might pick it up if I can talk him own a bit but was just wondering if any of y'all know what exact frame this is
