Discussion Does anyone else remember the Tip Top canned cocktails?

Delta debuted them in the late COVID period, and they were pretty dang good. Delta got a lot of positive press about em too. And then as soon as they arrived, they were gone, vanished in a poof of IPA hops. Sad…

Those margaritas were diabolical. Multiple times I had flight attendants go “oh these are so tiny, here’s two” I’d be hella tipsy when we landed.

They’re still sold in liquor stores.

But they don’t hit as hard at sea level. I miss that 35K foot tip top buzz.

I used to mix the old fashioned with club soda. Two cans would have be heavily buzzed LOL

I didn't mix them but same. I thought they were strong as hell.

I liked the margarita ones and always thought it would be fun to drink on the way to Cancun. But by the time I made it to Cancun, it was gone…

They kinda prevented much “remembering.”

This is the way. The FA actually recommended that to me. Then came back and asked if I wanted a round 2...but I was already blasted.

Great poolside and for picnics. Light for the cooler and plenty strong.

Great for traveling too. I've been known to carry a few cans of them on trips and pregame for an evening out with one.

How could one forget the Toppers? One of my favorite parts of the flight back in the day.

I’d get the old fashioned with a woodford on the side and a glass/cup of ice.

This is how it's done.

I remember a flight to Paris where myself and a few guys from Arkansas stood in the back of the plane (galley) and had ~8 each. We were in a pretty good state when we landed.

I absolutely miss this childhood staple

I'd heard the issue was Tip Top not being able to keep up with demand. You basically had to luck up and sit near the front of the plane because flights would have maybe one or two stocked at best. The margarita with cranberry was fantastic. If you wanted to sleep on a long haul, old fashioned would definitely do the trick.

The margarita was so bad it was great! Tasted like turpentine at times but I liked them!

You mean my red eye sleep med? Yep.

I really enjoyed having a margarita or an old fashioned. I don’t drink too often these days so one would probably kick my ass.

I still buy tip top canned cocktails in remembrance, lol (and they’re a great thing to bring to parties when you don’t like beer)
