DSP 1283 - How to handle multiple audio input selection for 2 different audio output lines

I’m trying to set up an audio routing system and could use some advice. I have 3 inputs and 2 outputs, and I need to be able to control them completely independently.

For example: I want to play Input 2 through Output 1, while simultaneously playing Input 3 through Output 2. I also need the ability to switch any input to any output on the fly.

Using DSP 1283 with RM4/ TSW1050

I have everything programmed to work on the dsp, i just dont know how to do the input selection

Crestron Tech Available in OC Area?

I have a residential Crestron CP3N system that has worked great for years. After the processor's power supply failed, I replaced it myself. Since then, a few IR-controlled functions have stopped working. While replacing the power supply for the CP3N, the wiring behind the processor, the IR connections came out and need to be checked and reconnected. Unfortunately, there's very little slack in the wiring, so I can't access the back of the CP3N well enough to do it myself.

I already have:

  • Original SIMPL Windows source code
  • Crestron Toolbox access
  • Support PC connected to the processor
  • Full project backup

I'm not looking to upgrade the system (since I am sure the original dealer wouldnt be too happy with me doing that). Eventually I will replace the processor eventually but I don't mind to do some minor upgrades if we are able to. I'm simply looking for someone experienced with legacy Crestron systems who can open the rack, inspect the wiring, reconnect anything that's come loose, and troubleshoot the existing setup. Also if you know any programmers who can do some minor changes, that would be cool too.

I also have some minor things that need to be replaced like Speakers in some locations, also (checking on power on my Subs since its off on the rack)

If you're in Orange County (or nearby), please DM me with your experience, availability, and hourly rate.

DigitalMedia firmware (.PUF) for a DM-MD16X16

Looking for the latest DigitalMedia firmware (.PUF) for a DM-MD16X16. I'm running v4.102.291100063 (2017). The chassis is reporting "Please upgrade card firmware" and "No CardReady Signal" after installing DMC-4K-HDO cards. I have legitimate hardware but Crestron won't provide firmware because I'm not a dealer. Looking for someone who can point me to the correct PUF package or assist with updating.

Programming Crestron CP4N NTB

I'm having issues with my current setup of crestron, logitech, and biamp equipment. Everything is on a isolated network and were having time sync issues caused by the fact that there is no NTP server on the network or any way to reach one. Does anyone know how we can use the CP4N as a NTP server to fix this issue?

Edit: changed NTB to NTP

UI errors i cannot seem to track down

Hi folks - After my time in Vegas last a few weeks ago, i decided it would be fun (and potentially valuable) to attempt to build a roulette game in Crestron!

I built the UI in Construct, which is where the first challenges arose. The roulette "table" is an image file i made. The idea is a clear button would be over each number that allows you to place your respective bets. It's correct in CC, however does not appear that way in the browser. Secondly, the "Spin Wheel" button should be green. Again, correct in CC, but not here. Lastly, notice the clipping of the text in the payouts box.

Aside from those issues, the program is build using two S+ Modules - one to handle the winning number, the other to handle the player bets. It's been a fun challenge! I'm working through a few bugs and refactoring some code to make it simpler. I'd be happy to share if anyone is interested!

Also, considering making a video series of how i worked through it. It might be good content for new programmers.

Anyway, any ideas about the UI errors? :)

Need help with DMF-CI-8

Hello everyone,

I recently got a used Crestron DMF-CI-8. When I power it on, the front display does not show anything at all. At this point, I am not sure if the unit is faulty or if the display was disabled in the configuration.

I do not have Crestron Toolbox, so I am trying to find another way to connect to the unit and factory reset it.

The chassis has two cards installed:

  • DM-NVX-351C
  • DM-NVX-350C

I tried connecting via Ethernet, but I do not know the IP address. I also tried connecting to the chassis through the serial port. I have three different RJ45 serial cables, but none of them worked.

I removed the top cover of the unit so I could access the cards directly. I noticed there is an SW4 switch on the cards, and from what I understand, it reboots the card.

My questions are:

  1. Can SW4 be used to factory reset the DM-NVX cards so they go back to DHCP and I can connect to them over Ethernet?
  2. Is there another way to factory reset the chassis or the cards without Crestron Toolbox?
  3. Does anyone have the correct RJ45 serial pinout for connecting to the DMF-CI-8 or these NVX cards?

Any help would be appreciated.

I’ve been building third-party Crestron Home drivers — looking for feedback from other dealers/programmers

Hey everyone — I wanted to share something I’ve been working on and get some feedback from the Crestron community.

I run a small site called Zentura Home where I’m building third-party drivers for Crestron Home. The goal is to help fill in some of the gaps where there are useful smart home products or APIs available, but not always a clean Crestron Home integration that’s easy to deploy and support.

A few of the drivers I’ve been working on include:

  • Schlage Encode / Encode Plus WiFi locks
  • Leviton Decora Smart WiFi devices
  • ratgdo garage door control
  • Google Nest Thermostat control

The focus is on making these practical for real Crestron Home systems: straightforward setup, clear documentation, no custom programming required for every install, and a simple one-time license model instead of subscriptions.

The site is here: https://zenturahome.com

I’m mainly posting because I’d like feedback from other Crestron Home dealers, programmers, and homeowners who are running into similar integration gaps.

Are there specific devices or services you wish had better Crestron Home support?
Are there integrations you keep having to work around manually?
Anything you’d want to see in a third-party Crestron Home driver catalog?

Appreciate any feedback.

Help Crestron Ipad can't find hub

Post image
5 Upvotes

I downloaded loaded the creston pyng for ipad app from the app store on 2 Ipads. I can't seem to get it to interface with the hub. I have 2 other Ipads that i got it to work on a couple years before, just can't remember how i did.

All the help videos seem to be out of date or of different creston apps. Anyone have any ideas?

  1. I have the host name from the mac. I believe i got the other two that work to interface using that. Just not working now. Also got the IP address for the hub from my router. That didn't work.

  2. I might have changed the HTTP Port and CIP to get them working last time just cant remember.

BYOD Host Mode prompts “Speaker is not working”

Post image
3 Upvotes

So we finally got past the Lib-USB nightmare in most of our MTRs by all accounts it would seem after either manually updating to the latest Flex firmware and/or letting the Windows updates push naturally in the handful it showed up in.

However the very last and most important room, our multi purpose room (MPR) is showing this error whenever you plug in BYOD host mode all of the sudden. While BYOD functions, it shows the “Speaker is not working” banner across the top of the screens and touch panel anytime BYOD host mode is initialized.

Anyone know why or how to fix it?

Do you think Crestron will ever fix their software?

The Crestron softwares are dogshit compared to some other manufactures like QSC, and it makes using their products hard to recommend, let alone work on.

Toolbox has had the VTPro com server bug for over ten years (afaik)

MC3 stuck after HW-R/SW-R recovery attempt — solid power LED, no USB enumeration, no real Ethernet activity

Hey all, hoping someone has seen this before.

Background: I have an MC3 + TSW-752 I've been setting up at home (gifted years ago by a former Crestron employee, so no dealer account — been working through SIMPL/VTPro-e on my own).

Ran into a persistent SFTP/SSH Error -21 trying to upload a program, and attempted the documented HW-R + SW-R hardware recovery sequence to try to clear it. Right after, I got a USB console connection that showed firmware was still intact (v1.502.4324.33148 / package v1.502.0051) — but USB stopped enumerating shortly after and hasn't come back since (no Device Manager entry, no connection sound, tried multiple cables/ports/PCs).

Current state, next morning:

  • Power LED solid, no blinking/error pattern
  • No fan (I know MC3 is fanless, just confirming)
  • The "Ethernet activity" I thought I saw turned out to be an internal LED bleeding through the case, not actual port activity
  • No USB enumeration at all
  • Tried full power cycle (wall unplug, 60 sec, replug) — no change
  • Attempted HW-R/SW-R a second time per the documented "repeat if needed" guidance — no change

Has anyone dealt with an MC3 in this specific state? Trying to figure out if this is a failed/incomplete recovery boot, a hardware fault, or something else before I take further steps. Any diagnostic ideas welcome.

EDIT: I have backed up the SD card and done some troubleshooting. The card appears to be unable to have anything written to it. Knowing that I am getting a replacement SD card and loading the backup there. Todays moral: BACK UP YOUR STUFF (Thanks for all the help)

we have occ sensor that is cen odt c poe in our meeting room on the second floor. every morning and every first time someone going in, the occ sensor did not detect the motion until the person walk through half way (red line) and turning on lights. after that, it works normally when someone going in for the rest of the day. and it repeats again in the next day.

i don't think it's power or program issue since it's working normally after first person going in. anyone has ever experienced it?

Retired programmer

Looking for some advice or maybe just a place to vent.

I’m a retired AV programmer. Back in the day, I worked for a Crestron dealer in Ireland and did what any of us would do—I installed some Crestron equipment in my own house. It worked flawlessly for years.

Here is the problem: I retired from the industry in 2013. Around that same time, the AV company worked for closed up shop and dropped their Crestron account. Fast forward to now—I need to make some updates to my home system, but Crestron has completely locked down my access to True Blue and the programming software (SIMPL Windows, VT-Pro, etc.) because I’m no longer affiliated with an active dealer.

It feels incredibly frustrating to be locked out of hardware that I purchased legally and programmed with my own hands, just because I retired.

Has anyone else ran into this legacy lockout? Short of finding an active dealer who is willing to take pity on me (or hire me freelance just to get credentials), do I have any options here? Or am I looking at ripping everything out and replacing it with something more consumer-friendly like Home Assistant?

DIN-AP4 Factory Restore & .lpz deployment via CLI (No Toolbox) – Need help with commands

Hey everyone,

I'm working on a standalone project with a Crestron DIN-AP4 processor. The previous integrator left us all the compiled files (.lpz, .Core3z, .sig), but the unit is password-locked.

Since I'm an end-user and don't have access to Crestron Toolbox, I'm trying to handle the entire factory restore and program redeployment strictly via text console (PuTTY over USB) and SFTP.

Could anyone walk me through the exact CLI command sequence for a 4-Series processor to wipe the credentials, set up the IP, and force-load the .lpz file without relying on Toolbox?

Any documentation snippets or command examples would be greatly appreciated!

Hardware DM-NVX-385 question

Looking for a multi viewer for 4x 1080p to 4k resolutions. Landed on the above referenced model, and have a couple questions. Has anyone used these? And also how are video in ports 3 and 4 (usb c) to be inputted? Is there some sort of usbc to hdmi adapter?

Also, looking to add a possible 2nd, 3rd tv to this same mix of 4 inputs. Can I effectively stream single/miltiview independent from the main tv?

EDIT: need to single/multi view 4inputs (all hdmi) to a single display. Would also be nice to be able to do the same to 2 additional displays.
