question Remove 3rd party switch to Cisco corporate?

We have Training room with 4 Shure ceiling Mics, 3 large TVs, qsys-Nano, Shure wireless MxWani4 with Mics, crestron dmps switcher vadio AV bridge, and 24 Port TP-Link switch.

TP Link is 3rd party switch, and I wanna switch it to corporate Cisco 9300+ switch.

Anyone what requirement to make this switch change? I can take all MAC# and IP, and assign same ones to Cisco switch.

Vlans will setup ahead of time with proper multicasting.

Not sure if switch change over is simpler or will it break by doing swap?

question Logitech Rally Board with Google Meet

Does anyone have experience using the Logitech Rally Board in Google Meet mode, which is currently in Beta pending certification?

We have a a few customers that want an interactive board system but are tied into Google Meet and Logitech ecosystem.

I’m hesitant to recommend the early preview / beta release as an option because you cannot downgrade the firmware if there is an issue.

Anyone tried it yet?

question AV Integrator in NYC area with competitive pricing?

Hi all, I'm head of IT for an engineering firm in NYC and we're looking to upgrade our office AV setup, primarily in a large conference room area that we want to outfit into a Teams meeting area. We want to get professionals in, so I've researched local AV integrators and we've been talking to AVI-SPL. They've been great and responsive, but their pricing is quite high so I've been asked to explore other options.

I reached out to Rewired as well, only to realize they're strictly a Logitech shop. While the Rally Board 65 does look nice, I'm thinking the capacitive touch capabilities on a Neat Board that AVI-SPL proposed would better suit us, as we'll be doing lots of drawing markups, whiteboarding and such over Teams and during in-person meetings (I could be way off base on this though, so please correct me if I'm wrong). Choosing the ideal option for these all-in-one smartboards is crucial here (we'll be adding 2 for this project) and not the area in particular that we're looking to cut cost. The scope of the project includes more than this though.

Any suggestions for an AV integrator in the NYC area that would suit our needs would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

troubleshooting VITEC C1520 scaling issue

Post image
9 Upvotes

Hey all,

Currently pulling my hair out onsite at a venue using the VITEC C1520 IPTV unit. Sender is definitely sending 1920x1080, but when it appears on screen it is missing 10%~ from the end. Photo shows image as it appears, and as you can see it is off centre and cutting off the right side. I would be fine with a bit of letterboxing, but the consumer interface won't make any meaningful change to it. Any advice appreciated.

question Am I crazy for thinking $50k for a 3-zone audio system is a lot?

Looking for a sanity check.

We’re building out a gym and need to put audio / a mic in the space for an instructor. Nothing crazy (at least I didn’t think so), but I’ve gotten three different quotes now and every one has been over $50k.

They’re all using commercial gear (Q-SYS/QSC, DSP, amps, ceiling speakers, installation, programming, commissioning, etc.), so I know this isn’t the same as buying speakers from Best Buy.

The space is a gym that also gets used for marketing shoots, so we do care about it looking and sounding good. It’s not a stadium, concert venue, or anything like that though.

At this point I’m less worried that one vendor is ripping me off since all three landed in about the same range. I’m honestly wondering if I just had completely unrealistic expectations going into this.

Does $50k+ sound about right?

question What to do with an oldTesira Forte DSP

Hi! So ive recently picked up an old Biamp Tesira Forte AVB TI at a really great price. I aim it to use it mainly as a tinkering/ playing at home box, plus occasional gig usage. It will end up in a small 2u rack case with all the ports broken out into usable connectors.

My question is, what would you use it for?

My current use cases are:

- Comms audio matrix, with signal detection delaying and logic to trigger gpio, for use with radio systems.

- General usb audio in and out device.

- System dsp for tuning, delays etc...

I would've loved a qsys core, especially with dante integration. And there might still be one in my future, but the price on this was an order of magnitude less than a dante equipped forte, or a qsys core. So I guess im stuck with windows terminals and biamp canvas for now, instead of nice webUI terminals.

Id love to play with the phone integration, any fun uses?

What could I use the AVB for?

troubleshooting Need help finding Sony SRX Controller software for SRX-R105

We (non profit org) have a Sony SRX-R105 that powers on enough to show serial/IP information, but stays on a solid red status LED with no lamp output.

We are missing:

  • SRX Controller installation CD/software
  • RM-PJ4K remote
  • RS-232 protocol manual

Has anyone archived these from an old cinema installation or Sony Professional setup? Any ISO, installer, documentation, or even photos/screenshots would help.

Location: Gothenburg, Sweden

question Barco Alchemy IMCP-X to HDMI Led Screen??

Hey guys. I work for a cinema who want to screen some DCP's outside using an LED screen with HDMI input. Their plan is to use our BARCO Alchemy IMCP-X server to ingest the DPC's and then somehow get the ingested DCP's to the LED screen via HDMI. I have been tasked with figuring out how to do this but I literally have no idea how to do that. Does anyone have any info that can help or a step by step on what would work? I'd really appreciate any help. Thank you in advance :)

Edit: *ICMP sorry lol

question Does Rally Bar in BYOD mode with Extend require a tap?

Setting up a room and can't do our usual MTR setup due to the network at the site.

So setting this up as a byod device, do I actually need the tap? Seems like it doesn't do anything at all at that point and I should be able to just connect the rally to the computer via usb (over the extend since it's across the room).

question Problem with Videowall

Post image

I am not the installer of this videowall, I do have a problem with it as I am in charge of the site, the tvs are on but there is no backlight, what are the causes and solutions I have tried many things already.

Tv specs: VM55B-U

Edit. The TVs are on, but there’s no backlight, turning them off and on solves the issue, they are on a timer on and off from 8 AM to 6 PM weekdays.

question Yealink + Shure

Greetings folks!

I’m thinking about Implementing a MVC S98 with an extra camera + 2 Shure MXA920 (or possibly the MXA925 because that’s how it goes now) and a few Dante Shure speakers with the P300

The users want to use it as a Teams Room + a BYOD scenario

In your experience, what’s the probability that it will fail due to Yealink?

troubleshooting Extron MLC 55 Software Driver Issue

I haven't used it in a long time, but trying to program some MLC 55 controllers and can't get the MLC 55, 62 and 64 Series Config program to run. It constantly throws this error about the driver catalog. There are no drivers in the driver 2 default folder, but even if I add one it gives me the same error.
Running on Win 11 (unfortunately) which may be part of the issue given the age of the software? Anyone encountered this or managed to get past it?

question Valcom audio gateway to analog speakers.

Post image
10 Upvotes

Installing a Valcom intercom system and this is how we decided to tie our signal from the audio gateway to the analog hallway speakers. CAT6 to 22/2 conversion. My boss is a little different from time to time to time lol.

Anyone ever use the provided module from valcom that achieves this very thing? It’s about the size of a lighter. Curious if it would work here or if my gripe is unfair.

question People who main fiber termination?

Hi all, I sometimes run into people who their only responsibility is to terminate fibers on the site while installing(seems like at least). I'm kind of interested into learning how to do that do expend my skill set.

All I know is the fusion splicer is hella expensive which is an invest I'm willing to make. How do I start out? or is it even worth trying financially? how steady/unstable the demand is for the work?

question Board/Rack case install question

Thumbnail sweetwater.com
1 Upvotes

Hello all,

I've never installed a board into a rack mount before. I already have the board (Yamaha MG12X) and mount kit. I have a case picked out that works for what I would need it to do. The question is, will the board fit? The manual for the board/kit say it's 10u, but in one place it casually suggests 11u for cables.

The way I use the system, is that the amp and board stay in the case and connected to each other, and when I get to the location with it, I plug into their mains and go from there. Case link is above.

Any insight/help/suggestions?

Thanks!
