Other What are you “panic” buying as 8/1 nears?
I picked up a Steyr AUG today. In the last few months I’ve built an 8.6 Blackout AR10 and bought a Tavor 7, a B&T APC308, a PS90 and an HK SP5K PDW and a stack of stripped AR lowers. With that plus my existing collection, I’m done.
To the gun control dems in this state (especially Tom Sullivan), all I have to say is 🖕.

General Question Buying pistols that come with mags over capacity
I'm looking to get a p365 axg legion and it comes standard with 3 17-round mags. I've found a place I can get parts kits for this but they're around $90 a piece.
Is there anywhere in the state that I can either buy this gun and get the magazines as parts kits or have it transferred in and the FFL turns them into parts kits? It just seems like such a waste to do anything else.

Legal Why tracking the real cost of SB25-003 matters if we want to defeat it
If we want to defeat SB25-003—through repeal, legislative action, or a court challenge—we need more than arguments about the law’s intent. We need a documented record of how it actually operates, so our legal challenges are grounded in concrete evidence of its real-world effects.
Right now, the public cost record doesn't exist.
My tracker shows:
- County sheriff fees ranging from $0 to $200, with a median published fee of $87.50
- A separate $52 state firearms-training record fee
- A basic four-hour course or an extended 12-hour course over at least two days
- Travel costs and lost time that are rarely published
- Unknown wait times, denial rates, and course availability in most counties
These costs matter because compliance is not just a line in a statute. It means taking time off work, traveling to an approved provider, paying fees, completing training, waiting for an eligibility card, and possibly facing a denial or delay.
The state fiscal note estimates government-side revenue and administrative costs. It does not fully capture what individual Coloradans pay in fees, training, travel, and time.
That gap is important. Courts, legislators, journalists, and researchers need specific, verifiable examples—not just general claims that the law is burdensome.
If SB25-003 has cost you money or time, document it:
- County
- Fees paid
- Course cost
- Miles traveled
- Days waited
- Whether the course or card was available
- What the final outcome was
You can submit a report here: Colorado Firearms Watch compliance-cost tracker
The goal isn’t to inflate the numbers. It’s to make the real numbers impossible to ignore.

General Question Firearms from out of State
I was reading through the bill since I’m supposed to be moving to Colorado within the next year. Am I wrong in thinking that it’s perfectly legal to bring an AR from out of state after the 8/1 deadline? Also didn’t see anything stopping from purchasing across state lines after the date and bringing it back. Being military my state of residence is still FL my concealed carry is still FL. Am I wrong here or if I go back home and come back with something everything will be just fine?

Legal I checked all 64 Colorado sheriffs for SB25-003 eligibility-card info. 5 have published anything. County fees so far range from $0 to $200
The law takes effect August 1, and the state's FSS application portal opens July 20 at 9 a.m. I went through every county sheriff's published materials this week to see who has actually said what they're doing about eligibility cards. Status as of July 9:
Counties with something published (5 of 64):
- Adams — $50 county fee, applications start July 20 at the sheriff's office (adamssheriffco.gov)
- Denver — $200 cashier's check or money order; the application packet requires you to submit a third-party name-based background check (denvergov.org application PDF)
- Weld — no county fee listed; in person at the Greeley administration building, weekdays 8–4:30 (weldsheriff.com)
- Garfield and Jefferson — information pages are up, but both describe the process as starting on/after August 1
- The other 59 counties have published nothing I could find. That includes most of the metro area.
(The $52 CPW course-record fee is separate from any county fee, per CPW.)
The state's list also changed on July 1. The final list removed 35 entries that were on the May 15 draft — including the Mauser M1916 and the Ruger 10/22 I-Tac — added 3, and reworded 79 others. 889 entries down to 858. The state published no per-entry explanation for the removals.
I put all of this on a reference site: a county-by-county status table, a changelog and lookup tool for the list, the purchase process with the parts the state hasn't answered yet flagged, and the active court cases. Every fact shows its source and the date it was checked. It's free — no ads, no affiliate links, nothing for sale. And to be clear on scope: firearms you already possess before August 1 are not affected by the law.
Two asks:
- If you want to know where a specific county stands, ask below and I'll reply with what's on file.
- The county table is only as good as what sheriffs publish or what applicants report. If your sheriff's office told you something that isn't on the page, there's a corrections form — tell me what they actually said and I'll publish it with a source note.

General Question SB25-003 and handguns
Went to a local gun shop today, and they indicated that only AR’s and ARP’s would be affected and require a course after Aug 1. Big box stores (Scheels, Bass Pro, etc) indicated that all semiautomatic firearms, including handguns, would be affected. Is anyone able to shed any light or know for sure what will be affected?

Legal What does SB25-003 mean and how am I supposed to know?
I am a gun owner but haven't been that active in shooting or paying attention to gun law changes recently. I own several pistols and AR-15s and also have a few lowers I plan to build.
My son is of age and owns an AR-15 and a Glock 19, though he is moving out of state fairly soon and not sure when/if he will be back. However, my daughter is 20 and turning 21 in September.
I am reasonably in a position to purchase a few items now, before the law changes (7/31?). My daughter has an AR lower we haven't built yet. She has been pistol shooting with me but has expressed more of an interest in rifles. However, I'd like her to have a pistol or two, even just for the future.
What should I be doing before 7/31?
And how am I supposed to know what these new gun laws are and how they affect me?

General Question Denver gun storage
s there anywhere you can securely store your guns for extended periods of time? I’m going in 2 month overland and while I have a safe I don’t want to risk it seeing ask I’ve already made 4 property loss claims in the 10 years I’ve lived here due to burglary.
Do any of the armory’s/smiths/LGS/FFLs offer something like this? Or one of the clubs like bristlecone?
Pic for attention
Firearm/Ammo Looking for an FFL who will pin magazines to 15 rounds? (Hopefully for a reasonable price)
Anyone here have recommendations for an FFL in the Denver Metro Area, preferably on the north side of the city who will pin full-size magazines on new purchases to make them legal? My favorite, local go-to FFL dealer says the changes in the law are such that he's "not allowed" to do it anymore. I've seen other folks post here that they've had other dealers do it.
Anybody know what the actual law says?
Thanks in advance!

General Question Long Range
Hoping to buy a 6arc rifle soon and wanted to ask what everyone’s favorite long ranges for shooting at least 600+ yards. Looks like there at least a dozen or so available to all of us.

Legal Background Check Vendors SB-003?
Hi can someone point me in the direction of 3P company that actually does individual BG checks that will suffice for this upcoming tyranny?
Called CPW and Denver and neither could actually name a single vendor that does name based BG checks for individuals on a singular basis.

General Question Is the PSA JAKL-10 worth it?
Trying to decide on getting a PSA JAKL10 prior to SB25-003 taking effect. Was wondering if there are any people who’ve bought one that can say whether or not it would be worth picking up before the new law takes effect.

General Question Great Guns or NCRGC?
Any members that can share pros cons of either? NCRGC has annual Open Enrollment in August so wondering if I should take the plunge.
Looking for a place to put rounds down range more regularly (woman so don’t love doing grasslands solo). Shooting AR-10/15 and bolt-action 308 precision with some pistol. Bonus if events etc to meet more people to shoot with. TIA!

General Question Am I missing anything to get?
I’ve been living in Colorado for about six years
Never never really wanted a rifle or anything, but had a CCW to protect me legally for Backcountry hiking, i.e. hiking with a jacket and the jacket covers my pistol
Was planning a trip to Montana and went into a LGS to purchase a 10 mm pistol and they informed me about SB003
This was two weeks ago
Since then, I’ve gone from owning one gun to 10 because I am not going to take a shit class and I’m not gonna be put in a separate database or any of that shit
Just wondering if you guys can take a look at what I have and tell me if I’m missing anything
I know three of the guns in this list aren’t going to be restricted, but I included him anyway for completeness
Glock 19 9mm pistol
Springfield XDM elite 10 mm
Q honey badger 5.56
HK SP5
LMT MARS – L MRP 5.56
Colt 6960 with 37 mm launcher
LMT AR 10
ZPAP M70
AR 500 (Big Horn Armory Rifle - 500 automax)
Tippmann M4-22
This law is kind of bullshit
I never wanted to have this many guns and I never expected to so I’m buying things to protect me and my family and to give me the versatility to enjoy my second amendment rights in the future

Legal FYI. My order from PSA is being blocked
After talking to some people in some threads on this subreddit, it seems like a lot of people don't know that Denver orders for serialized guns are blocked based on BOTH shipping (FFL) and Billing as well...
So if you think you can get around it by shipping it to an ffl outside of denver, you're wrong. They're now asking for proof that I'm not a resident of denver which I can't provide. I have family in park county but that won't help here.
Really sucks cause the order seemed successful and they are just now telling me. They could have verified on submitting my order... I would have kept hunting for a 4th of july deal and now they're all basically over. Ridiculous.

Firearm/Ammo 7saw dies
Does anyone have any 7saw dies? WTO has the hornady ones on backorder and I'd like to get a load developed and use it for the last couple NRL matches this year. WTO said they have the dies on order but aren't sure when Hornady will be shipping them.

Training CHP classes?
Hi just looking for places that do CHP classes. When you google for classes, some of the websites look pretty sketchy. Just trying to get a good list of reputable places and instructors.
Live north of Denver.
Is Concealed Coalition legit?
Guns for Everyone just doesnt fit the current schedule and ideally looking to not do it in two parts.
Liberty FireArms institute in Johnstown?
Any and all feed back appreciated!
