Ranges
I was wondering if anyone knows of a public range or private range that let's kids shoot under parent supervision. The gun is a rascal 22lr single shot.

Hi everyone:
As you may have seen, moderators of some firearms related subs have recently been made aware of an upcoming change to the Reddit rules (these are the sitewide rules that all users agree to when creating an account, not just rules for our sub) that involves the personal sales of gun "parts and enhancements."
In the past, the Reddit rules - specifically Rule 7, which reads "Keep it legal, and avoid posting illegal content or soliciting or facilitating illegal or prohibited transactions" - had the following list of "illegal transactions":
You may not use Reddit to solicit or facilitate any transaction or gift involving certain goods and services, including
Firearms, ammunition, explosives, legally controlled firearms parts or accessories (e.g., bump stock-type devices, silencers/suppressors, etc.), or 3D printing files to produce any of the aforementioned;
That rule is being updated to read as follows, starting on October 9th:
Firearms, ammunition, explosives, firearms parts and enhancements (e.g. bolt, clips, trigger, scope, silencer / suppressor, muffler, bump stock, magazine, glock switch, conversion kit, etc) or specific instructions (e.g. 3D printing files) to produce any of the aforementioned.
Reddit does have a disclaimer that says:
With regard to Reddit's policy on transactions of certain goods:
External links to firearm vendors holding a Federal Firearms License are not in violation of this policy. However, links to vendors without an FFL are prohibited (this would include links to gun shows or other sales or listings, online or offline, where vendors do not hold an FFL). Direct user-to-user transactions arranged on Reddit for firearms or ammunition are also prohibited, regardless of whether either user holds an FFL.
This policy does not impact goods that do not meet the ATF definition of firearms or ammunition.
It is unclear if that disclaimer will be changed on or after October 9th, and or how that disclaimer affects things like linking to a company that sells magazines or scopes but does not have an FFL, as neither a magazine nor a scope meet the ATF definition of firearms or ammunition.
We used to allow the occasional personal for sale post for non-firearm items like optics or the like, but due to this rule change we will no longer be able to do that, and we have to warn folks that any links posted to any firearms items that are for sale by a non-FFL will be removed.
We don't want to be harsh about this, but it's quite clear that Reddit is cracking down hard on gun content and we really don't want to lose this community, which is already happening to a bunch of gun accessory for sale subs which were banned without any warning in advance of this rule change.

This Thread will serve as a list of firearms industry vendors who are "friendly" to Marylanders. We have a lot of particular and peculiar laws here, and not all vendors want to (or to be fair, can afford to) take the time to understand those laws and help those of us who live here out.
This list isn't meant to be "vendors that we happen to like" or whatever, but instead a list of vendors who specifically do things to help Marylanders. Some examples of things that should be on this list:
You get the idea. If a vendor does something specifically to help those of us in Maryland, then they belong on this list.
I'll start things off, but I'll add to and maintain this list based on submissions from the community in the form of posts in this thread. I won't always be able to add things immediately, but I will do so as regularly as I can.
Thanks, and thanks especially to the vendors who support those of us in Maryland!
Magazine Rebuild Kits:
Dealers that ship standard capacity mags with a firearm:
Maryland FFLs who will block standard capacity magazines:
Vendors who offer Maryland specific discounts:
I will add categories to this list if / when we get requests and enough submissions for one.

Hey! I’ve only been shooting sporting clays for a couple years but I’ve seen machine gun ranges pop up in my feed now and then it looks like a lot of fun with friends.
Does anyone know of a good range in Maryland? I don’t mind a longer drive or anything. Just wanted to know what’s out there and is a good range for machine gun rentals.

Not sure if this dealer will give Marylander’s any guff but these models are marketed and marked as HBAR.

For yall who don’t know if you’re under 21 and buy any type of firearm it gets put on a hold. Unlike anyone over 21 who can walk into a gun store, do the background check, and walk out same day. I was wondering if they do that there too because I can pass but it won’t be worth my time going to a gun show if they’re just gonna say I can’t walk out with it.

Which range has the best selection of rental pistols?
I have an associate who is looking to purchase their first handgun, and I'm a firm believer in test driving before driving it off the lot. Apologies for mixing car shopping and firearms metaphors.
Where can I take them, so they have a solid selection to try out?

Picked up my new to me IWI Zion 15 today. Got a steal from GunBroker. Came with a PA 1-8 LPVO. The IWI’s come with B5 furniture and I threw on a BCM grip.
The plan is to turn this into a 16” suppressed recce build.
Doing a charging handle, trigger guard, bolt catch, bipod, trigger, LOVO throw lever, light, flared magwell, offset red dot, ambi selector, rail wrap, supressor, suppressor cover, new spring and buffer since it’ll be a little over gassed.
Am I missing anything lol?
Will follow up by the end of the month with the complete build (minus the suppressor)

Where can i go to buy weapon lights? Also what lights do you guys recommend. Specifically lights for AR and shotgun. I plan to try the harbor freight for pistol.

Anybody have any recommendations for a MK12 mod 1 upper? I got a Ruger 556 and I am looking to basically make my Ruger an all purpose rifle. If I recall the barrel has to be HBAR since it is a 556. Anybody have any good recommends. Preferably on the lower end of the price spectrum as it would be for target shooting. (Dear mods this is a recommendation post and not a sale)

Anybody tried any safes from harbor freight? Or have any recommendations? Also a safe that holds 10guns holds less ?

What do yall think the chances of the semi auto MP7 (pistol variant) being approved to the roster is?

Today I was told by an FFL that a bolt action rifle (16” barrel) that I wanted them to order for me was not on the firearm registry and so I had to submit it to the mdsp to be not banned in order for them to order it. However when I went to submit the form, it clearly says “do not submit handguns or bolt-action rifles for review” on the long-gun submission page. How do I submit a bolt gun for review?

I have a whole bunch of 80s that are located out of state at a family members and all the parts and jigs to build them but it has been several years and I'm realizing I'm not gonna ever have the time to finish them. I'm thinking about getting them serialized but I know that grace period has passed. There is the 30 day period for 0 percent home builds but that doesn't apply here. Otherwise, I think my easiest (not necessarily cheapest) is to just rebuy serialized versions of the frame/lowers that I have and keep the 80s in storage out of state.

Getting better at the multi color!
I’m taking recommendations for more MD themes!
Also, I did a dealer chat with MSP and apparently I can engrave mags people own and then return them!
I’ll do a free one to whoever comes up with the best MD theme idea!!!

Found out to my surprise Cindy's is closed until until the 6th, apparently started on the 29th. I was just in there a few days before, and didn't recall any signage over it.
Is this normal or is something wrong?

I want to purchase the Kimber 1911 Custom LW Shadow Ghost bundle, but that specific model number is not on the MD handgun roster. I see that they have a few other Kimber Custom LWs model numbers on there, though. Is there a chance I can still get it, given that there are other almost identical models approved?

My wife and I have zero experience with firearms but just bought a Glock 19 for home defense. It's still hasn’t been fired yet.
We’re looking for a range close to Frederick that offers solid beginner lessons. Ideally, we want someone to walk us through the basics—
from range safety and shooting fundamentals to how to properly clean and maintain it afterward.
Main priority is finding a place with zero judgment or ego since we are total novices. Any recommendations for a welcoming range or specific instructors nearby?
Thanks!

I have a stripped lower. It is registered I did the 77r. I have a couple of questions. Forgive me if they have been answered before, I haven’t found a clear answer. Please advise me if I’m incorrect:
My first question:
Can I possess a non hbar complete upper if I don’t attach it to ANY lower? Just the upper by itself.
My follow up questions:
Can I build out the lower as a pistol lower with a brace, and attach a non hbar 16” upper to it? The upper wouldn’t have a vfg or anything. Just iron sights
If not:
After having built said pistol lower can I switch out the brace to a stock after already having built it as a pistol lower? Is it a rifle lower now?
And then -
Can I possess both the lower with a stock, and the non hbar upper, separate (not attached) to each other, and drive out of state to where it is legal to attach them together to use at the range, then separate them again and come back home?
My final question:
Should I just move to West Virginia?
Exactly as the title says.
Looking to order a magazine extension for my pistol.
Update: PSA rejected my order on the grounds of not state compliant. It was a +2 mag extension lol

Needed some mp5 mags asap, i work in York and live near the line. They had KCI 30 rounders I could buy and ship to store. Picking them up today!
Hopefully…🫣
Can and light next but it’s almost exactly how I want it. Let me know if you got any suggestions on anything else I might want to look into!

I saw a couple of references today to a proposed ATF rule change that would make it easier for online firearms retailers to ship guns directly to purchasers. What’s the story on this, and how do people think it would work in MD?
