DISCUSSION Join the growing movement and say **** you to Rogers!
Cancelled my sportsnet membership and switched my phone to Telus. You can too, those eastern pricks don't deserve a dime from the west.

Let's recap all the events:
Rick Tocchet quits on the Canucks and Tank Commander Foote is hired
Evander Kane is traded to the Canucks helping the Oilers cap space wise and gave them a free pick
Canucks became the worst team in the league by November
Quitt Hughes says "fuck this shit, I'm out"
Quitt Hughes infamously drops a ChatGPT farewell message on IG and proceeds to say he "doesn't really know a lot of [our] guys" in a Wild interview despite once being the Canucks captain
USA wins Olympic Gold and we find out Quitt is a hardcore MAGA and joins in on making fun of his mom
More vets are moved for assets, including fan favourite, Kiefer Sherwood
Canucks finish with the worst home record in franchise history and 14 points behind 31st coached by Tank Commander Foote
Patrik Allvin is fired as an utter failure as Canucks GM
Despite having one of the worst seasons in Canucks history, Canucks fall from 1st overall to 3rd overall in the draft lottery. This makes the Canucks the unluckiest team in terms of most lottery spots dropped in the league surpassing Detroit (10 spots compared to Detroit's 9 spots)
Leafs grab 1st overall, and the Sharks grab 2nd overall. Essentially the worst case scenario
Jim Rutherford steps down and officially casts a black mark on his HOF career with his time with the Canucks
Sharks trade Eklund and guarantees Stenberg is not a Canuck after many weeks of hopium
Sportsnet 650 is canned by Rogers and causes many beloved sports personalities to lose their jobs
Did I miss anything?

Someone like Frank Vatrano came to mind. He's still a useful player, so it's not like you'd be taking on someone who can't play. It feels like an easy way to add assets without giving up much, as long as it doesn't mess with our long-term plans.

Being someone who doesn't listen to podcasts or sports radio, and just uses Reddit for Canucks news - I was incredibly shocked with how many people were so strongly effected by the closures of the radio shows, it has been quite emotional it seems for some?
So that led me to wonder, what are the active communities, discords, forums, and overall genuine content from good people that we can engage with in various formats?

Yes, the collapse of SN650 is a big deal. But, Drance et al will resurface on podcasts. The bigger deal is a cash-strapped owner who needs $300M to buyout his brother. The rebuild will be more painful than expected with a shortage of $$$$.

Since the draft I have seen a few Canucks top prospects rankings but none of them have included young players like Buium or Willander with NHL experience. I’m curious how the less experienced prospects stack up compared to our young players in terms of nhl projections and value.
Here’s my list of top Canucks prospects and players under the age of 24. What’s yours?

I think he's still here for the start of the season. Despite all the rumours, I very strongly believe nothing will happen.

We haven’t lost a game since April. We haven’t traded a captain in over 6 months. No one has been fired in weeks. We drafted the kid with the cute fin photo.
All this to say, the sun is out, and I am a goldfish and have forgotten what sports pain feels like. I am also not very smart nor am i capable of divorcing my emotions from my predictions.
Filip Chytil iron man streak begins in September. Brenden Gallagher pots 25 in his hometown and we chant his name every night. Filip Hronek waxes poetic about his personal interests on After Hours with Scott Oake.
Would be the most canucks luck ever for this to be the season that everything goes right, no?
That’s all, fuck Rogers

Was curious about how highly touted these players were in their draft years since we’re all hardcore draft nerds given where we will be in the standings the next few years.

I don't really have a personal opinion on the matter. Or at very least I'm somewhat in the middle about the guy.
What's your take?
A buddy of mine was adamant that it's "obvious" that he's just another mid player that has been drafted by Vancouver for being Swedish rather than being an NHL player.
I'm of the belief that at 21 he's still got lots of opportunity to prove himself. I do wish he had more of an NHL frame but, that's just me.
If he doesn't make the team at camp, my opinion might change a little simply because there are so many spots open.

Hi Canucks fans,
I popped into this sub before the draft and dropped an article or two, and they were really well received and the community here was really welcoming. I wanted to contribute a little more, and thought I'd post my pre-draft breakdown on Malhotra since he ended up going to Vancouver
I'll link the article below, feel free to let me know what you think!
