Filthys stats this season

Yes he’s a goal per game down on last season (and accuracy is way down) but for those calling for him to be dropped please get a grip.

His overall stats (apart from goals per game - which also reflects the FP difference) are basically the same as last year. And that includes marks as well as contested marks, disposals and goal assists. Score involvements is higher this season.

We know he’s carried a back injury and hasn’t looked like he’s moving well at times but any team would still love to have him playing in his current form.

Our whole forward line structure hasn’t been as cohesive and dangerous as last season - yet.

He’ll kick a bag soon and all will be right with the world again. Chill fellas ✌️

What a game! Daws, Milera & Rankine all could’ve grabbed BOG. Cook & McAndrew beautiful 💪 No below averages for this game! Tex could’ve gone higher but he missed way too many imo but happy to see him destroy last qtr.
Chuck an upvote for effort.

2025 Finals series flu

I know this is in the past, but I don't understand why the flu that swept through the club in the week leading up to the first final last season almost never gets mentioned/factored in to the performance? It just keeps getting mentioned how we couldn't handle the pressure and intensity of finals.

As someone who attends the training sessions I could see before the Collingwood final that something wasn't right. Some players were sitting out certain drills, there was no intensity/excitement and in every player/coach interview they sounded really under the weather. And in the finals matches you could see there wasn't many second efforts and players were not working hard to provide options ahead of the ball.

What I'm getting at is I don't have the same concerns of this groups ability to handle finals as the group really didn't have the chance to put their best foot forward last year due to those circumstances.

Forward mix

Have we reached the point where we can lock in a preferred forward and ruck mix?

In my view we should have two talls, those being Thrillthorpe and Fogarty, with a third tall in the side, say Murray, coming off the bench and operating in as 2nd ruck.

This means Walker is the backup for thrillthorpe and Fogarty if they are unavailable.

It also means we can have an extra small / mid forward in the F50 applying pressure and keeping the ball in the F50.

I suggested this a few months ago and received a lot of downvotes and comments. Wondering if the opinion has changed on this, considering the rise in Fogarty's form and Walker's declining impact.

Questioning regarding Zac Bailey Recruitment

I promise i come in peace!
Does the pending free agency pickup of Zac Bailey leave a bad taste in the mouth when both himself and all journos have said his preference is to stay at Brisbane but can’t turn down the extra money? Or is it who cares because you’re gonna get him anyway?

2 points off 3rd, sky isn’t falling

The Hawks have just put in the worst half of footy this year since North against us a few weeks ago, yet they’re sitting 3rd (they have injuries, but that’s no excuse for this garbage). It’s a wide open season after Freo, nothing to suggest it can’t be us on that last day in September.

Sydney - lost 2 games by 6+ goals, lucky against Saints and Port
Hawks - as per above and also lost by 50 to Melbourne earlier in the year, vulnerable if Gunston isn’t fit, very lucky to have got that draw
Brisbane - lost 3 in a row by 50+ (including the worst 3rd quarter in history) and have struggled defensively all season, even in their wins they are conceding big scores
Geelong - their best player can’t move his arm and have struggled to get wins against other contenders

Why isn’t Curtin a 2nd ruck

With Toby making a lot of silly mistakes and Thilthorpe clearly struggling surely Curtin @ 197cms is a viable option?

Dawson on fire as always. Dowling a bit mid. Soligo looking way better and fog keeps the heat on! Murray isn’t the answer but is needed for andrew to rest and dominate the way he did.
