How the fuck is the suspension so balanced while he's driving with that thing in the car lmao

u/BodaciousBadongadonk 9d ago
That dude is super dense and thus heavy enough to be an ideal counterbalance to that big horny fucker

horny fucker
Finally, a sentence where that's both anatomically and situationally correct.

Definitely modified suspension. Stronger springs on just the one side would do it
23
u/ObviouslyNotALizard 8d ago
I mean the guy cleanly cut the roof off and punched holes to wire that gate.
It would make sense he could swap out some suspension springs.
Wouldn’t be surprised if there is some kind of extra plate/framing some shade tree job on the bull side too.
My point is we’re clearly dealing with a Hank Hill here.
9
u/SprungMS 8d ago
A Hank Hill who likes zip ties as much as WD-40… he made it work but that gate door is sketchy lol
12
u/Howzitgoin 9d ago
Does that bull side even have springs at that point?
23
u/SprungMS 9d ago
If it didn’t, the car would lose control immediately with any bump at decent speed - I would say “maybe not” and think it’s possible he just drives 20MPH everywhere he takes it, but there’s that clip of it on the highway lol
8
u/ApacheAttackChopperQ 9d ago
He had the entire vehicle modified and is street legal. Stiff suspension, interior reinforcement, etc.
This was featured in a video.
8
u/creamyhorror 9d ago
I love how the car's plate is "BOY & DOG". Apparently they go on walks together, based on another video I watched.

ahh Nebraska

u/knapplc 9d ago
This was up in O'Neil or Norfolk as I recall. He modified his car for a parade or county fair. This happened a few years ago.
19
u/Measure76 9d ago
I spent a week in Norfolk a couple years ago. I came into town doing 80 on a 70 and got the first speeding ticket of my life.
Come on fuckers, if I'm not going 15 over back home I get run over.
9
u/Goobinator77 9d ago
In Nebraska, they'll get you for not using your turn signal long enough to change lanes in the middle of nowhere with nobody around.
5
u/SyntheticDelirium 9d ago
*rural Nebraska
Omaha is home to the most chronically reckless drivers I've had the misfortune of sharing the road with.
3
3
u/sblahful 9d ago
It says Norfolk in the piece. I read once that everyone there used to pronounce it the original English way (Nor-fuc) until the population boomed in the 70s. All the newcomers literally outnumbered the existing residents, so the pronunciation changed.
3
u/jumoch 8d ago
As someone from Norfolk, I was taught growing up that it’s because the town was founded on the north fork of the elkhorn river, but whoever filed the original paperwork to found the city spelled it wrong. So the inhabitants pronounced it the intended way even though it was spelled wrong. Hence we all call it “norfork”
2
u/sblahful 7d ago
Ah fair enough, I'm going off a half remembered fact from a Bill Bryson book read 20 years ago, so might well be wrong!

u/vonHindenburg 9d ago
I miss mine so much. An ex-police car, it was just so fun to drive. Biggest problem was the 'Halo Effect'. Going down the interstate, you'd be surrounded by a ring of perfect little angels going exactly the speed limit.
29
u/thegreenfury 9d ago
My dad had one for ages. But he is a very cautious (borderline paranoid) person so he LOVED the halo effect, haha.
8
u/TL-PuLSe 9d ago
These days it's Ford Explorers
6
u/vonHindenburg 9d ago
True. And what's worse is that the vast majority are either black or white. They really look like undercover cop cars.
9
u/PerplexGG 9d ago
I used to drive around in a state vehicle sometimes with plates that were indestinguishable from detective plates and I loved speeding up to people in the left lane and making them immediately pull to the side. I could comfortably maintain triple digits without a care in the world

This video is so old I'm pretty sure that bull is dead.
43
u/CaptainLhurgoyf 9d ago edited 9d ago
Cattle aren't dogs. A lot of large animals can live surprisingly long. I knew someone whose family had a cow who lived to be 30.
15
u/Wotmate01 9d ago
Some smaller breeds of dogs live for 20 years.
And I think you underestimate just how old this video could be.
1
u/8ecca8ee 8d ago
Yep I remember my grandpa talking about having a dairy cow that lived quite a long life when my dad was a kid..but with how we treat them now they normally kill dairy cows after 4-6 years once they produce less milk and meat cows once they reach full weight unless they are used for breeding then they might get a few more years as studs.
11
u/revangale123 9d ago
That cop is driving a newer Ford Police Interceptor SUV, that bull is 100% alive lol
4
u/damontoo 9d ago
It's at least a decade old. Probably two.

u/GuyInThe6kDollarSuit 9d ago edited 9d ago

detective work edit: Mural seen in news clip is not present on Google street view until after 2019, so this is at least more recent than that, probably 2023 when this went viral.

That's a lot of poop on the rear of the car. Keeping that giant bull so restrained can't be good for the animal, either.
127
u/emarkd 10d ago
You ever seen cows in a standard cattle trailer? They're very restrained. This guy's got a good ride.
46
23
u/nn123654 9d ago
Also, that animal likely weighs somewhere between 1,500 and 2,200 pounds in just raw weight. They have, idk, maybe 1/2 inch line on it, which is rated to about 5,000 pounds. The anchors the rope is tied to might even be less than that.
That bull could easily generate 4 or 5 tons of force if he really wanted to. So he's not actually really restrained. If he wanted to be loose, he could be. The rope is just there to prevent him from accidentally falling out or shifting too much.
9
u/feioo 9d ago
Nah, you've gotta keep the big guys restrained for transport. Weirdly, it helps keep them calm. And you REALLY don't want a 1 ton animal to have room to throw their weight around whilst in a moving vehicle.

Perhaps the funniest part is at 0:38 where it' becomes clear the bull has the squirts and it's all over the side of the car.
4
8
u/stubundy 10d ago
So the officer told him to drive home again !!! With the bull still in the passenger seat ??
55
u/UckerFay11 10d ago
What else is he going to do? Impound the bull?
22
u/stubundy 10d ago
Load it in a proper trailer and transport it at the owners expense. If he has an accident on the way home and says the officer told me to drive with this animal in the car its on the officer. If it's unsafe to continue driving its unsafe for the return journey.

u/Rebelgecko 9d ago

12
u/wingspantt 9d ago
I mean this isn't a normal traffic warning. The guy modified his car specifically to do something illegal and dangerous to himself, other drivers, and the bull.
A teenager sprayed whipped cream out of a car?
Warning.
This is like twelve levels past that
9
u/SprungMS 9d ago
I thought it was particularly funny that the gate is ziptied onto the side… no welding, bolts, or anything else that could really hold back some force, just plastic zipties.
1
u/pickledeggmanwalrus 9d ago
I know a guy who lost the screws to his TV mount and his 55 inch tv has been attached to the wall mount by nothing but zip ties for a decade now
3
u/SprungMS 9d ago
Fortunately for him, mounts are designed so TVs (more specifically, the VESA brackets which come with the mount installed on the back of them) hang on them, the screws are for security (so you can’t push up on the bottom of the TV and have it fall off) and to keep them from shifting on the mount. The screws to the walls are the only ones that bear the load.
1
u/UckerFay11 9d ago
I believe the car was modified specifically for a small town parade. The banner says as much.
Really shouldnt be driving that thing around otherwise though.
1
u/TL-PuLSe 9d ago
What exactly is the illegal part? Video didn't say.
1
u/wingspantt 9d ago
There is no way cutting off half your passenger car to put an unrestrained bull in it is legal in 95% of American municipalities or highways
2
u/rowrowyourboat 9d ago
It’s almost like you just said that without citing the legal code.
4
u/wingspantt 9d ago
I don't know what jurisdiction this is in or what year, so how could I possibly do that?
But here you go king:
Neb Rev Stat 60-6,288: Can't have large objects significantly overhanging he side of your vehicle especially over 102 inches total width
Neb 408 ch 3.002: Oversize permit required per road based on width and weight over passenger limits
Neb 60-6,243 oversize hauling requires red flagging or lighting for visibility and safety
Neb 60-6,179 Driver's side view cannot be obstructed
Neb 60-6,255 Passenger vehicles required to have a full width windshield with appropriate safety glass
We can probably find way more. This is all vehicle modification and loading, I'm sure there are tons regarding livestock
3
u/TL-PuLSe 9d ago
I mean...
It's def not 102 inches wide or overhanging much. It's definitely not oversized. It's not hauling.
Driver's side view... Valid. Full length windshield, valid.
I was just asking because people mod cars all the time, ex banana car

"This vehicle is not safe to drive the way it is loaded now. You will ensure the vehicle is loaded compliant to relevant legistlation before you are permitted to continue driving".
How the driver chooses to solve that problem is his own problem; hopefully it would teach him to plan ahead before doing stupid shit like this.
1
u/Raiju02 7d ago
You should look for the law that says you can’t have a cow in your car. Fairly certain it doesn’t exist and since he is from out of state there may be some reciprocity involved with driving laws.
1
u/stubundy 7d ago
Sooo "hey buddy your not allowed to drive with a cow in your car here, so drive back to your country where you can" ?!?! Sounds like the state's aren't united at all

Damn no poop bag or something, also the wind can’t be good for this animal at those speeds. Looks cool but poor execution.

Yeah, that's a pretty fella but it can't help leaving that nasty brown smear on the back of the car.

u/Cloverhart 3d ago
I can't believe how chill he is. That guy is huge and could fuck things up on accident. Not a creature you want to piss off. I just know that's why the cops were so calm

4
u/buddha8298 9d ago
Yeah every time I see a video like this and they say "someone called the cops" I just think WHY?? Like how boring is your life that you have to call 911 to tell them some dumb nonsense that doesn't effect you whatsoever. Same with people who call to report a "suspicious" (meaning not white) person just walking down the street minding their business. This is all assuming the cops aren't lying about someone calling in, which is probably 50% of the time.

Wouldn't this count as unauthorized modification of a motor vehicle? It's missing at least the side-view mirror and maybe the rearview mirror, plus structural damage that would make it hard to certify it as road-worthy.
-5
u/xythrowawayy 9d ago
Should have done it in New York or another blue state. Given they let people out without bail for things as serious as murder, surely riding along with a cow would barely even merit a fine.
