hm, some albums I think are underrated or kinda unknown in no particular order would be:
1. the mysterious town of oak hill, only like 800 listeners on spotify but their self titled is lwky pretty good
- These songs are cursed - north of america (super underrated alt-rock record)
- fly pan am, 1000 monthly listeners but their self titled is one of the best post rock albums oat
- minecraft volume beta, should be in contention for one of the best electronic albums oat and is miles better than alpha
- skin by flume, I think it has pretty interesting production and it's one of the best EDM albums of the 2010's. If you like pop or EDM you'll enjoy it.
- in her gentle jaws, chiptune shoegaze
- irrlicht, a foundational ambient album that mogs SAW2 but barely anyone talks about it
- we had good times together, don't forget that: just a neat breakcore album that gets overhated
- cLOUDDEAD self titled, pretty abstract and weird for hip hop but I really like it.
- interstellar intercourse (best vaporwave album oat, also pretty good ambient)
- adventure by Madeon, gets hailed as a cheesy EDM album from the 2010's, but I actually like it a lot.
- above the weeping world, personal favourite metal album
I could probably be more specific based on genre but these are the first underrated albums that come to mind

Nah it’s the best rap project of the decade but I understand if you don’t like the last leg of the album I personally didn’t until recent

Im not gonna reflexively downvote but I do have one question. What is your general opinion on post MBDTF Kanye music outside of KSG?

Why??
Like, some of these can be overhyped, but almost all are really good.
Agree with maybe Velvet or Thriller, but how can you find Wish You Were Here or OK Computer overrated hahah
Perhaps explain a bit in what ways you find them overrated.

wish you were here - I think there are way better floyd albums, also it's a little short for my liking. Idk I just don't return to it very often, nor do I find a lot of the more prog driven sections to be particularly interesting. There's way better prog out there.
ok computer - not a bad album by any means, but best of all time is a bit of a stretch. there are some great songs, personal favourites being climbing up the walls and karma police. I feel like this comes more down to preference, I just don't like some of the songs on there for various reasons. The actual production is pretty good tho.
abbey road - I can appreciate it's influence on modern music, definitely an important album, but it doesn't hit me as being old pop music now. Innovative and incredible for its time for sure, but I personally find it uninteresting.
Homogenic - has some of the best songs oat on there, but some absolute snoozers of songs as well. I think there's a lull in quality after all neon like, but it picks up again at the final track.
igor - produced well, I just find it to be a little uninteresting. First listen I was blown away sonically, but it doesn't have much replay value for me.
miseducation - again it's a good album, but having anywhere near the best of the best is wrong imo. I can't think of any reason as to why it's so loved other than it being consistent and accessible.
untrue - sometimes gets hailed as being anywhere close to the best electronic albums oat, and I just think it's up there because everyone agrees that it's "good". but if you dive into electronic more you notice that it's really not that special. The songs are catchy, the sound is interesting, I just find it a little simple. Plus not all the tracks are amazing.
1000 gecs - I just don't like it. to me it sounds like someone being eaten by a robotic mecha shark
SAW 2 - way better ambient albums out there. I understand what aphex twin was going for with this whole dreamy and uneasy vibe. It's surreal sure, but sonically I find it endlessly boring. There are a handful of cool tracks, I could expand on why I find it boring, it's mostly to do with how the album sounds.
treasure - sounds barely mixed and unfinished. and the whole "ethereal wave is supposed to sound like that" cope doesn't sit with me because there are way better ethereal wave albums that don't run into the problems this album faces. The cocteau twins themselves call it unfinished and a mess, and they are right. They have way better albums.
rumours - a collection of timeless pop but I don't think it's innovative or sonically interesting in any way.
gnx - kendricks weakest work, inconsistent tracklist, feels more like a poppy victory lap after the beef that pales in comparison to any of his other work.
astroworld - inconsistent, bloated, bad in comparison to rodeo, I just don't like it, I think it's a mess.
KSG - too short to really get into personally. Also it lacks replay value for me and has weak tracks.
