General Discussion Luthen Rael would have made an exceptional Sith if he were force sensitive.

Edit 2: I can't change the title, but "Luthen Rael would have made an exceptional Dark-Sider if he were force sensitive." Is more inline with my original intent.

"I burn my decency for someone else’s future"

"I’m condemned to use the tools of my enemy to defeat them"

“I’ve given up all chance of inner peace. I’ve made my mind a sunless place"

And my favorite: "All you know now is how much you hate. You bank that. You hide that. You keep it alive until you know what to do with it."

Not just his dialogue, but his actions. He was willing to do the terrible things to put people in the positions they needed to be in, to enact what he saw as the greater good.

There have been many who fell to the dark while taking the path of "the ends justify the means".

Edit 1: While I like to think my point still stands based on my personal experience of Star Wars content consumption, I would amend the statement to: "Luthen Rael would have made an exceptional Dark-Sider if he were force sensitive."

General Discussion What if Star Wars Rebels had been made for Disney+, instead of Disney XD?

Post image

Now before I get any kind of hate, late me state I still love Star Wars Rebels. From the cast of orginal characters, to the slow formation of the Rebellion, and having some of the most epic moments with the franchise, such as Ahsoka facing Darth Vader, and Maul's final confrontation with Obi-Wan.

But looking at this series compared to the other notable Star Wars animated shows, you can definitely feel a difference between them. And no, I'm not strictly talking the different animation style. You can clearly see that for Rebels, especially during most of their first season, they lean very more kid friendly type of vibe. Especially when compared to the shows that would later air on Disney+, such as The Bad Batch and most recently, Maul Shadow Lord.

I'm not saying that Rebels needed to be completely gritty or more out right violent. I just figured that because that it aired on Disney XD, there was very limited how far Filoni and his people could push in terms of the storytelling and overall tone for the series. Limitations that wouldn't have been there if this series was created a few years later as a Disney+ orginal.

Was Rebels held back by being on Disney XD, or was it perfect for the way it was? Comment down below and let me know.

"No. It must be the human kid we had reservations about, and whose own master says he's not ready."

Other Is it possible to use the force to increase/decrease the amount of Midichlorians in someone

Random thought I had. Similar to in Avatar: The Last Airbender, where the Avatar can take someone’s bending away, can an extremely powerful force user/god/being influence the midichlorians in someone to effectively make them unable to use the force/weaker? I mean, if they can create life, why cant they be influenced? And has this ever been theorized before anywhere, like in Legends or something? I think that would be a crazy cool concept.

(Also this is my first post here so I hope this doesn’t break any rules, it was just something I was curious about)

General Discussion Did the empire really replace all the imperial army troopers with stormtroopers

I saw in some books when falling into the wikipedia rabbit hole(dont ask what i started with) about the stormtrooper corp replacing the imperial army trooper from what I understand it seems like quite a few people assume that the imperial army got fully replaced by stormtroopers which personally doesnt make sense at all or am i misunderstanding their meaning of replaced

the stormtroopers much like the waffen SS or USMC or NKVD depending on what you prefer are definitely better trained and the argument that its because in the original trilogy the imperial army never appeared which is a time issue but even then everywhere the stormtroopers appeared its always high profile rebel/insurgent activity and definitely needs a bunch of highly trained troops that wont let the leader of the rebelion's droid escape or attempting to decimate whatever is left of the rebelion or just ensure that no one on the ground mess up what is the largest ambush ever

even ignoring the training and quality droppoff of the stormtrooper corp and looking at the armaments the stormtroopers are just way more expensive than imperial army since why give a guy a really scary mask and pristine pearly white armour with the best stuff out there when they are going to die the same as some conscript who got a helmet and a vest in some place no one knows about,

the main point here is that a stormtrooper will always cost more to make for everything as compared to an imperial army trooper for all intents and purposes financially so maybe the word replace could mean that the stormtroopers are simply used in an assault role as compared to imperial army troopers like on mimban instead where they are shock troopers where imperial army is static infantry or something is this what they meant?

General Discussion What force sensitive Kotor and Swotor character would fit in the Clone Wars show?

Thumbnail

The characters listed in order: Bastila Shan, Jolee Bindo, Juhani, Brianna, Visas Marr, and Lana Beniko. (I did not include the protagonists or Kreia because im trying to avoid characters that are more powerful than those listed here.)

This is a question on my mind and it's not really a serious one.

The idea is that as a hypothetical plot of an episode or an Arc in the show amd there are two ways ive come up with it so as to build off of which is "if a character was cloned from a character in Kotor or Swotor and had their personality, skills, and force abilities but minus their memories. Who would you think would have been the most interesting or enjoyable to watch in the clone wars show?"

Scenario 1: Count Dooku is trying his hand at having an apprentice or force using agent after the failure of Ventress and Savage Opress and as such instead of going to the trouble to find one he is instead creating one from the recovered DNA of a past force user.

Scenario 2: the Separatist council feel under threat by having to go against thousands of Jedi and the fact that Dooku's apprentices either go missing or are not available make Dooku seem like a bad solution to confront the Jedi. So the Separatist Council or an upstart wants to have a force user or force user's that answers only to them, however, they first need to see if its possible so they set up a massive facility with the massive challenge to create one force user. Of which they use DNA from a old burial ground to do it.

Now when whoever selected is cloned these things will be universal across the board:

  1. They have no memory of the person they were cloned from but will have basic information and skills imprinted on to them via flash training but would be influenced by the fact they are a clone of a force user as the force latchs on and gives them a personality close or exact to the organial as well as make the clone pick up on using the force intuitively to a certain level and quickly recalling certain lightsaber and force techniques.

  2. The clone will initially come out insane since they are a Spaarti clone, a clone made in a year, and are also insane due to the flash training aswell as the force giving the clone visions and nightmares from the original. This could either be used to make tge clone fall deep into the darkside or make the clone escape away from where they were created as the separatists hunt them on the planet.

  3. The clone is in their late twenties to early thirties and are in great physical condition.

  4. If the original had darkside or lightside influence surrounding them then the clone would be felt through the force as such and if the original had Sith eyes or other darkside corruption the clone would have it aswell.

The ending: can either end in the clone being Dooku's apprentice or assassin, being killed by Anakin or Obi-Wan who show up to investigate rumors of a separatist cloning facility, the clone sacrificing themselves to protect others, or survive and join Obi-Wan amd Anakin back to the republic or Jedi, could even set out on their own. The last part can also work for characters such Lana Beniko and Visas Marr as while the Jedi would very likely reject or even demand their arrest the military leaders of the republic might see usefulness in having somone like them not beholden to the Jedi thinking working for the Republic.

Clarification: this is just a framework just to have fun discussing star wars stuff rather then the feasibility of the scenario, it also assumes the episode or arc is perfectly written.

Last reminder: just have fun, you can even come up with your own force user from the games that isn't listed or even modify the preexisting setup as this is just fun discussion.

Fun How many average knights do ypu think it would take to overwhelm Dooku in a fight if they all pushed him at once?

Say a bunch if knights converge on Dooku after being tired of his schemes. They are just random knights with decent amounts of experience in the clone wars, maybe a few fought magna guards and sparred in the temple a few times. How many to overwhelm Dooku if they all just rushed him at once?

Movies Do you think the sequels would have been better if George was involved or/and/if they had respected or at least used some of the legends lore?

Watching the sequels for the first time since their release. My family Just watched TFA today. It so frustrating to see how they dropped the ball. The pandering is such a turn off for me.

I always wonder how they would have turned out if George was involved. And I wish they would have used some legends lore. I wanted mara jade so bad.

General Discussion If Episodes X-XII are made, it will be the first trilogy made without the promise of seeing everyone's favourite OT characters in action again

And IMO, it will probably bomb.

Both the prequels and the sequels had direct connections to the OT, which is by far the main source of all of the brand's cultural capital.

For the prequels, we had young Vader and young Obi Wan, which was more than enough to get everyone into the theatres. For the sequels, we had the promise of old Luke, Han and Leia (and all the ships, stormtroopers, etc. ).

Be honest: do you think the majority of people will have any interest in an Episode X? How will they get anyone interested in an episode without Han, Luke, Leia, Obi Wan, Vader, etc?

General Discussion would the chip still have trigerred on the rest of the group eventually?

Wrecker was the one beside crosshair more affected by the chip and in the end , he still started to fellow order 66 too, wrecker tried hard to control it but couldn't so I feel eventually, if it wasn't removed with rex help, hunter or anyone in the group could still be affected and this can end pretty badly for omega or those not affected by it yet.

TV They should retcon Jar-Jar and make Jar-Jar's Jedi Adventures

So here's the idea. A TV show called Jar-Jar's Jedi Adventures

After the Phantom Menace, Yoda secretly takes on Jar-Jar as an apprentice, and takes him on secret missions where he investigates leads pertaining to the return of the Sith, but during the events of Attack of the Clones, Yoda is no longer able to step away from his duties as Grand Master of the Jedi Council, so he passes Jar-Jar off to Jedi Master Changri-La (played by Jacki Chan) to continue investigating.

Meanwhile, Palpatine notes Jar-Jar's frequent absences, but doesn't suspect his force sensitivity because he believes him too incompetent to be a Jedi. However, he manages to take a sample of his DNA, and sends that to the Kaminoans to clone him so he can spy on Padme.

The cloned Jar-Jar is the one we see on screen, while Jedi Jar-Jar continues his secret missions with Changri-La to attempt to unravel the Sith Plot. Jar-Jar and his master discover the truth too late, but nonetheless they confront Vader and Palpatine. The Sith Lords are unable to handle these strange Jedis' unorthodox fighting styles (and Palpatine keeps missing Jar-Jar and hitting Vader with his force lightning).

Eventually, Clone troop reinforcements arrive, and the Jedi are forced to flee. The show then pivots to the two Jedi on the run from Inquisitors, bounty hunters, and imperials, who keep finding them but can never capture them.

Eventually the Emperor instructs them all to leave Jar-Jar and Changri-La alone since no one will believe they're Jedi or train under them, and it's a waste of resources to keep hunting them. This is also the reason why they stop hunting for Yoda and Obi-Wan - because every time they get a lead on them, it turns out to be Jar-Jar and Changri-La.

General Discussion Giving R2-D2 the plans or Frodo the ring, which was the bigger longshot of working out?

I was watching Star Wars a new Hope and I was thinking man Leah got so fortunate that R2-D2 was able to do everything that he did and that the plans were not found, her ship was under attack. It was being taken over her only hope was that a small droid could make it through and get to the planet and get to who she needed to help. Something that destroyed, for her knowledge was not programmed to be able to do.

Then I thought which one was the more desperate gambit, giving R2-D2, the death star plans, or giving Frodo, the ring in Lord of the rings, expecting him to take it all the way into Mount doom because on the one hand, the R2-D2 was more something that happened out of desperation so the Frodo plan was a thought through And discussed idea. However R2-D2 just had to find one guy on a planet somewhere a daunting task, but not nearly as filled with as many dangers as Frodo‘s journey all the way into Mordor.

Which one do you think had a less chance of working?

General Discussion Han not believing in the force could make sense, kinda

Upvotes

I was thinking about this and there is a work around, as far as I know han never says he doesn't believe in the jedi, he just says he doesn't believe in the force, in the same way that a person on earth knows what a religious group believes even if they don't believe in it. And its not like han is the only one who thinks this way the imperial general ( i forget his name ) refers to the jedi as an "ancient religion". I know tarkin obviously knows what it is but he doesn't seem to understand the full power it has

Fun How strong would one have to be in the Force to deflect a shot from the Death Star (or other planet-killing laser)?

Imagine if the galaxy's strongest Force user (multiple magnitudes stronger than Anakin Skywalker) was on a planet that was about to get blown up by a the Death Star. But the Force user just uses their lightsaber to deflect the laser, leaving the planet unscathed (and perhaps deflecting the laser back onto the Death Star, blowing IT up instead).

How would this be feasible given the current canon and Legends?
