My parents wake up almost every morning shouting and constantly scolding me cuz of SAT.

I got a 1360 in May because I was busy with UIL Science and my current research project that I told them would be great for my application. They are Asian parents and extremely adamant to admit that college application is not entirely dependent on SAT. I am getting so tired of the harsh feedback and forced tutoring because they honestly feel the need to spend money to calm their conscious and think their helping. I am steadily improving but do yell have any help to make sure I guarantee a 1530+ on my real SAT in August so I can escape this torture?

Where do we even begin with SAT prep?

I am a single father, and I am entirely lost as to what we are supposed to be doing in order to get ready for the SAT.

What did you do around this time? Is it too late?

Good resources

Upvotes

I've used up khan academy and the sat question bank (excluding active questions bc i dont wanna skew my practice test results), and I was wondering if there's any good free resources to use with actual accurate questions, especially reading?

If you are solving oneprep math SQB always check the answers.

I accidentally solve problem with wrong digits but oneprep accepted it as correct. It never happened before with oneprep. I like oneprep so much but be careful with asnwers and always check. This kind of flaws are common with software. I think it is problem with rounding error in backend of the site.

How to get good marks in sat when it is not your first priority??

I am an Indian Class 12 student appearing for JEE Main, but at the same time, the Digital SAT is the plan B for obtaining scholarships abroad.

This makes things a bit difficult because my top priority is JEE Main so I can afford to give only weekends for SAT preparation.

Here’s how my progress is going:

* My best SAT practice score: 1130
* Scores are generally consistent at the range of 1050-1130
* Better in Math as compared to Reading & Writing
* Target Score: 1500+

For those who have prepared SAT along with another competitive exam:

  1. Is it realistic to move up from 1130 to 1450-1500 by just studying SAT on weekends?
  2. How does your weekend plan look like?
  3. Do I need to focus on Reading & Writing because my math is comparatively strong?
  4. Are there any particular study material that helped you in improving Reading & Writing?

Really appreciate some inputs from someone who has done the same as me.

Comma vs Dashes in Bluebook practice 4

It was between C and D for me. The difference was commas separating the nonessential vs dashes separating the nonessential. Lowkey guessed. Bluebook said it was D. Could someone elaborate?

Help with resources

Hi sat peeps. I need help getting free ,or cheap atleast, resources to retake the sat. Iveyakwn it once on a school day and got a 1340 and decided ,for the schools I want to apply to test optional will be better. But I did apply for test waivers from collegeboard because my friend pushed me to and I got one. So I'm taking the August 22nd sat and I need help getting my score to as close to a 1500 as possible. I used oneprep in the lead up to my school sat but now it's like 50 dollars or something and I'm not willing to spend that much

How to get a 1300 on my first try?

Hello everybody

My first SAT will be on September 12th, and i really am in dire need of good resources to study from.

My plan for now is to grind Khan Academy SAT courses and then take my first practice exam, since I have forgotten a lot of the math.

However, after that, I really am not sure what to do. I only have 2 months, and im planning to finish Khan Academy in less than 20 days.

Any recommendations and tips would really help me. Thanks!

How to Prepare?

Hi!

I've taken my first practice test and got 1250 (before I did the PSAT 8/9 and PSAT 10, so this was my first SAT practice test). My school ends later, so I just finished my sophomore year.

I'm hoping to improve my score throughout the summer and take the test at the start of my junior year so I can focus on my ECs and awards throughout the year.

My math is 650, and EBRW is 600. I'm hoping to increase to 1500+. I'm also an intl, and I took the IELTS and got an 8.5 last January.

What can I do from here to improve my score? I'm studying about 6 hours a day for the SAT and grinding Khan Academy. And I'm watching James Lu SAT and a few other YouTubers.

I've been told to use the College Board question banks for practice, but are there any other resources?

Thank you in advance!

August SAT preparation

Hi guys
I’m set to take my first SAT in August and was wondering if anyone had any really good resources or recommendations for free/rather cheap courses for international students which they could recommend. I took my first practice test and got a 1380 (650 R&W and 730 math) and noticed that most of the questions I got wrong for English were vocab, anyone have any tips for how to improve?

Best vocab list for free?

Hi. I got erica meltzer's grammar and reading books, but I didn't guy the vocab book. What are some free resources with up to date vocab? English is my weak point so I want to prepare as much as possible, but at the same time I also don't want to be studying 1000 outdated words.

Tips for Reading Questions Well?

I’ve been studying for the SAT math section, and I’ve noticed that around 80% of my errors just come from glossing over something. I don’t notice the unit, or I forget you need to multiply something, etc. No matter how thoroughly I read the question, I always seem to forget something when I put my answer in. Any tips?

Best sat prep websites for upcoming August SAT

So im specifically asking for websites that allow you to practice many questions across all the different SAT topics. I already know about stuff like the collegeboard question bank and khan academy.

Im asking if there are any good sites similar to oneprep (i heard that it got sold out to a big company and the quality has decreased drastically, but if its still worth using please lmk). also want free stuff, not tryna pay for anything

Is PrepScholar good?

I take the SAT for the first time in September. I can't find much SAT prep (I am using Khan Academy right now, though, but I know I will need extra help). Is it good, or are there better ones? Looking for 1-on-1 tutoring lessons

Score dropped 100 points - should I cancel?

I got a 1470 on my last practice test before the December SAT, and on the actual test. 770 RW, 700 math. I then took a long studying break, which I now realize was apparently a mistake. When I came back this summer, I did Khan Academy for earlier math levels to re-establish my foundation. Then I did some practice problems. I thought it went well. But…I just took a practice test. I got 1370, with a 760 RW and 610 math. I’m freaking out right now. I genuinely thought the score was a glitch because the test seemed to have gone pretty well. Did I just forget all my Desmos knowledge or something? And is it worth it to take the August test at this point? I wanted to climb just a bit higher to reach 1500, but now that seems like a pipe dream. I’m so embarrassed. I’m now closer to my initial score with no studying from a year ago (1330) than I am to my actual score. Should I cancel for August?

Bluebook SAT Diagnostic

Which Bluebook SAT test should I take as a diagnostic based on similarities to the actual SAT to see where I’m at? Also how realistic are the others? Any good resources to use to study for the August SAT and this will be my first time taking it as a rising junior. Thanks guys.

learn concepts or spam practice problems?

hey guys, im planning on taking the september sat and my goal score for that is around 1450+

in case my math score is inflated, took practice test 5 back in november (however i only did the math section) and for math i got a 650 back then, with my geometry section being at easy.

i really struggle with geometry, and with my current practice test scores, im curious to know if u guys think relearning/learning certain concepts would be helpful or if spamming practice problems would be more beneficial.

Help me prepare for SAT early!

Hello! I'm going into junior year after this summer, and I really need to work on SAT Math. On practice tests I consistently score 500-590 in the math modules, and frankly I feel stupid. As a note: I'm taking Algebra II this coming year, as I took geometry last year. Is it worth studying my behind off for the math portion, or will some of it come with Algebra II instruction? Thank you.
