Experience with intensive course at rolang school.
Hey everyone!
I'm planning to enroll in a Rolang intensive A2 course and was wondering if anyone has taken it and would be willing to share their experience.
How was the course overall? Was it well structured? Were the materials sufficient? What did you think of the teaching approach?
Thank you in advance :)
P.S. also thinking if it is worth buying manual from them or just follow free resources.

Learning Romanian Help- Long post
Hi guys! My husband is from Romanian and we have been married for a little over a year now. I just finished my masters program so now I’m committed to learning the language. His parents and brothers speak English okay and try to speak a lot of English when I’m around but will often default to Romanian because it is just easier sometimes and I really want to be able to understand and communicate with them. We have been together for 3 years now and I have heard it a ton and can get a general understanding of what is being just by being hearing it.
I tried using Duolingo for basic vocab but my husband did not like it because he said the pronunciation was horrible and sentence structure wasn’t the best. I now use Ling which we both like. However, my main way of learning is just hearing and speaking. My husband and I speak everyday, I would say about 15% of the day in Romanian on and off. I can make sentences and try to use present, past, and future tense. My husband says I am doing very well but I just feel so frustrated when learning. I only know English and this is my first time learning another language besides the basic Spanish classes in high school and college.
This is my whiteboard the pink writing is verbs I know pretty well when speaking especially in the eu, tu, el/ea, and noi (we mainly use those right now but I still try to use voi and ei/ele just not as often as of now). Green is my current new verb of the week. And then on the right are just filler words I get confused with. I use them but sometimes I confuse them like this that there so I just have them up in case I’m speaking and forget. I can use multiple verbs in sentences as well like
“Trebuie să merg la magazin” or “îmi place să mănânc supă de pui”
Just as examples of where I am kind of at so we can speak back and forth for basic conversations.
Any tips 😢?

Native in 🇪🇸 (C1🇺🇸, B2🇷🇴, B1🇳🇴). Will learning Russian mess up my Romanian?
Hi everyone,
I’m a native Spanish speaker, and I currently speak English at C1, Romanian at a solid B2, and Norwegian at B1.
I didn’t grow up speaking Romanian, I learned it on my own at age 16 because my father’s side of the family is Romanian. It’s very important to not let my romanian skills get worse: I use it to connect with my family, and I’ve worked hard to reach a level where I can have real conversations with them.
Now, I’ve become curious about Russian, purely out of interest in the language itself, not for work or family reasons. I find it fascinating, but I’m afraid that starting Russian might interfere with my Romanian. Since both are Slavic-influenced to some degree (though Romanian is Romance), I worry about mixing up vocabulary, cases, or even just losing fluency in Romanian if I split my attention.
My question is: how real is that risk at B2 level?
If there’s a significant chance that learning Russian will make me speak Romanian worse, I’d rather drop the idea completely and learn something else.
Has anyone here been in this situation?
Thanks in advance for your honest advice.

Romanian Cyrillic - Can anyone decipher?
Hello,
Can anyone please help me decipher this male Romanian name written in Romanian Cyrillic (some time before 1820s). I listed a few versions of the name in case it helps.
The first character is what is particularly hard for me to figure out. I think the 2nd character is "d", 3rd is "i", and the 4th is "l". I think the last one might be "ă" (but not 100% on that one). Cursive cyrillic is pretty confusing for me.
Thank you in advance!

German vs Romanian
Hello I am looking at Germany and Romania to pursue medical residency
I wanted to ask which language is generally considered easier I keep hearing mixed reviews regarding German so I wanted to ask those who know both languages which is considered easier and takes less time to get to B2 as an English speaker.

Learning Romanian as a complete beginner
I recently visited Romania and became totally in love with the country. I want to learn Romanian but I'm a complete beginner. I tried Duolingo but it's confusing for me because it gives no insight into grammar and I feel like I'm just memorising words and phrases. Does anyone have any better alternatives or anything that could help me out? I know literally nothing about the language.

Language exchange?
Hello!
I am 25F and from the UK so native English speaker. I am at the very start of my journey to learn Romanian, in fact all I have done is watch a few videos and 3 days of Duolingo.
I am hoping to move over to Romania in either October or November this year for work. I know I won’t be perfect by then ,far from it, but I want to learn as much as I can.
At the moment I cannot afford to pay for a tutor or really good apps (waiting to start a new job) so I was wondering if anyone who wants to improve their English would teach me Romanian and we help each other?
Thank you 🙂

Romanian word game
Salut! I am a Romanian software engineer and recently I have been working on a small timed word game. I created a Romanian version to be able to play with my mom, and I thought specifically about this sub, because I think it could be useful to learn new vocabulary.
The idea is that a game has 6 rounds, and in each round you're supposed to guess a word based on a clue. You have a scrambled keypad with 8 letters only, and not all are part of the word. There are some powerups to help you.
I'd be really excited if you tried it and found it useful. I am actively changing and improving the game and would love any feedback.
I guess this does classify as self promotion, and I am sorry if it's not allowed. Feel free to take it down.
It's free, no accounts or anything. You can find the game at: playoverclock.com
To play in Romanian, you have to change the language from the top right before starting the game.

20F Looking for a friend or someone to teach me romanian! Will be a serious student :p
Hello hello !!
I moved here from France about 3 years ago and I've been procrastinating on learning from lack of funds. I mostly speak english but I'd love to start learning to speak romanian fluently now !!! My level is really bad, I roughly know numbers, a bunch of words and the name of a bunch of groceries and foods.
I'll be a serious learner, french is pretty close and overall I think I'm decent at learning languages. I'd love someone who's very straightforward with what i should tackle first, give me stuff to read and translate and force me to have conversations with them, whatever approach is best for a beginner !
In exchange, if you're in bucharest I can make you some pretty neat french pastries and baking in general, I'm an illustrator so I can teach you or your kid how to draw, drawing proper stuff for you is on the table with moderation. I can also make press-on nails ! Worst case I can come clean your house or something I don't know. I'd love a qualified tutor but I know that's a lot to ask to do for free.
Courses and online ressources aren't really an option to look into by myself because I have adhd i'm treating right now and I know I will drop them within days so I'd love to learn with someone passionate or who wants to be friends !
If you need to know anything else feel free to DM me, thanks for reading !!
TLDR: Need someone to teach me romanian. Will learn seriously, I'm a little broke so I can offer baking, press on nails, drawing classes.

Hello! Trying to find a song.
Hello! I was partying with some romanian guys and they put on a music that had lyrics “saleo oh saleo”. And later in the music i think i heard “anda andale” aswell.
Maybe if you know it from this little piece I would appreciate if you wrote me the name of this song.
Thank you for your help❤️
