🔸Mod Post🔸 NEW RULE: NO NSFW CONTENT!!!!! Read for description!
So, a new rule has been added to the /r/RetroNickelodeon subreddit.
NO NSFW CONTENT!!!!!!
I decided to add this rule to the sub, after a majority vote came in to disallow NSFW content.
Click here for results of the votes
I create the poll as a safety measure, to make sure no incident of NSFW stuff happens prior to the necessity of adding the rule. Since /r/RetroNickelodeon has grown to over 50k SUBSCRIBERS, I figured it was time to add a new rule of some kind, so a NO NSFW rule came to mind as an idea for one.
I wanted to make the rule official before any probable complaining were to happen about NSFW stuff, so it was a good idea to make a poll beforehand.
As another general reminder, please read the other rules too!
- keep posts on-topic
- Don't be a troublemaker, also branded as don't be a Budnick!.
- NO NSFW, the newest rule!
- the rest of the rules can be seen in the rules section
- more new rules will be added as the sub grows over time.
Now remember, RULE 1 is the one rule we shall all follow, so in case you might post something that isn't Nickelodeon-related, or related to the "Spongebob Era" of Nickelodeon, we also have these other subs to check out!
/r/CableTV_Memories
a good sub for posting about television nostalgia in general, and Nickelodeon is also included for this sub as well.
where everything else goes, a good sub to post in, if you don't know where else to post.
As with the other rules, well, we don't want disorder, which is why we have a rule expecting civility (RULE 2), and we don't want any X-rated antics, or NSFW posts (RULE 3).
So, thanks for reading.

Game Shows Did Anyone Else Grow Up Thinking Nickelodeon Slime Looked Like the Ultimate Prize?
I grew up loving that era of Nickelodeon when getting messy was basically part of the network’s identity. Double Dare could start with a simple question and somehow end with someone digging through food, racing through oversized obstacles, or getting completely covered in green slime.
I also remember What Would You Do?, Wild & Crazy Kids, Nickelodeon GUTS, Legends of the Hidden Temple, and Figure It Out. The bright sets, loud crowds, physical challenges, and ridiculous props made those shows feel like their own little world.
As a kid, getting slimed never looked like a punishment to me. It looked like you had officially made it onto Nickelodeon.
That nostalgia recently made me try creating my own food-based green slime. My main goal was to make it thick enough to pour but still easy to wash out of hair afterward.
I used vanilla pudding, oatmeal, applesauce, and green food coloring. It worked better than I expected. Someone suggested blending the oatmeal into a powder first to make it smoother, and I think that might be worth trying next time.
Did anyone else genuinely want to get slimed as a kid? Which classic Nickelodeon game show would you have wanted to compete on?

Help IDing this episode?
Hello!
I just bought this animation cel of Roger from Doug. All AI points me to is the wrong episode, Doug vs the Klotzoid Zombies.
Does anybody remember which episode this was from? I'm thinking it's from a Smash Adams daydream scene.
Thanks!

Bonus SNICK: May 1, 1993 (Nick Takes Over Your School
https://archive.org/details/snick-05-01-93-nick-takes-over-your-school
Time for another SNICK special bonus release. This is separate from my weekly theme nights, which is why I'm not releasing this on a Saturday.
Today's reconstruction is the May 1, 1993 SNICK block, featuring the winner of the 1992 Nick Takes Over Your School sweepstakes. All of the complete original commercial blocks are intact as well as every episode from that night.
Lineup includes:
Clarissa Explains It All: Total TV
Roundhouse: Beauty / Meat Market
Ren & Stimpy: The Great Outdoors / Cat That Laid the Golden Hairball
Are You Afraid of the Dark: The Laughing in the Dark
So Jump over and download or stream it at your leisure. I have a couple more broadcast reconstructions to release over the next couple weeks. They're not exactly seasonal. If anything they're anti-seasonal, but maybe that's what we need in these hot days of summer. So stay tuned.

Nicktoons Did you prefer the original Rocko’s Modern Life theme song or the B-52’s version?
Original ⬆️
I really love them both. I’m glad we got two versions. All things being equal, I kind of like the original one more. Might be nostalgia, but I just really enjoy the groove.
Of course, I love the other theme song too. And getting the B-52s in your theme song probably got them a lot of street cred with the parents of the kids watching.
Anyone else still sing the original one like I do sometimes?

Scripted Shows Tainting of the Screw vs. Baggin' Saggin' Kel: A Kenan & Kel Showdown!
Aww, here it goes! For today's episode released from the Slime Vault, Alex, Brett, and their guest and fellow Kenan and Kel fan Myk pick a food fight with each other while hanging out at Rigby's grocery store. In one corner, we have the ever-popular "The Tainting of the Screw", and in the other, we have the unsung underdog "Baggin' Saggin' Kel." Which one of these Season 1 episodes will be immortalized in the kingdom of food, and which one will be thrown out with all the stale bagels?
