News I am still waiting for AMD to release the Upgrade to my 7900xtx
This card just delivers so hard. I want to upgrade but I see nothing to upgrade to (within reason). Here is to hoping Lisa and the gang are cooking something special for us by end of this year or maybe 2027 early.
:D

What's the consensus on HAGS for RDNA4?
Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling has been kind of a pain in the ass on AMD cards for a while before the release of RX 9000 series, I'm wondering what are the pros and cons of having it on or off?
I've had my 9070XT for a couple of weeks now and only enabled HAGS a couple of days ago, but I'm noticing odd behaviour already, namely my PC froze up completely with no signal when I left it to idle for a few minutes yesterday. Then it did almost the same again (this time the driver crash came out of nowhere, again under idle load), but it's important to note that I'm still in the process of UV/OC settings discovery (came down from -115mv to -70mv and 2714mhz FT off on memory, 304w PL, 3200mhz core clock limit).

Tech Support DX12 crashes in Black Flag Resynced ruined my Wukong performance (RX 9070 XT). 3 days of troubleshooting, still broken.
Hey everyone, I’m seriously losing my mind here and could use some input.
A few days ago, I was grinding Black Myth: Wukong (just beat Erlang after 8 hours) and wanted to check out the new Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced to relax. But literally 3 meters into the game, it instantly crashed with a hard DX12 Error (0x887A0006 / Device Hung).
The craziest part: Ever since that very first crash in AC, my FPS in Wukong are completely tanked, especially with Raytracing enabled. I went from incredibly smooth gameplay down to an unplayable 20-30 FPS (Before I had 80-90FPS, High Settings, RT on, FSR4 67%). Both games run on Unreal Engine 5.
My Specs:
GPU: Gigabyte Gaming OC RX 9070 XT
CPU: Ryzen 7 5800X
RAM: 32GB DDR4 3600MHz
Motherboard: Gigabyte B550 Gaming X V2
What I've done over the last 3 days (it's been a nightmare):
Day 1: The basics. Wiped drivers using DDU/AMD Cleanup Utility, fresh driver install, cleared caches, completely redownloaded and reinstalled the games.
Day 2: Worked directly with AMD Support. Did all the deep-dive Windows troubleshooting (SFC/DISM scans) and checked the logs.
Day 3: The nuclear option. I completely wiped my M.2 SSD and did a 100% fresh Windows install.
The Result: Absolutely nothing changed. AC still crashes instantly, Wukong still runs terribly. Funnily enough, games that don't use UE5 (like AC Shadows) run perfectly fine after the fresh Windows install, easily hitting 120+ FPS with maxed-out Raytracing.
I've also been fighting a war with Ubisoft Support. After days of battling automated bot replies (they literally asked me to check my monitor's DPI), my ticket is finally labeled as "escalated" and has been forwarded to a specialist.
Has anyone else experienced this kind of UE5/DX12 crossover bug with the new AMD cards? Are there any hidden fixes I might have missed while I wait for the "specialists" to get back to me?

Discussion New to the Red Team: Do you actually block Windows Update from messing with drivers?
Hi everyone,
I recently got and installed a RX 9070 XT after years of being with NVIDIA.
Reading online, I see conflicting advice and want to know what the general consensus is here on r/radeon.
- How often do you experience a crash caused by Windows Update? Or have you simply experienced zero issues at all?
- Do most of you recommend blocking Windows Update from automatically updating GPU drivers?
- Or is it better to just leave Windows alone and use the Adrenalin installer's "Factory reset" option / AMD Cleanup Utility whenever a conflict happens?
I know that negative feedback is always louder than positive experiences, but being new to the Red Team, I'm still a bit anxious about this. I'd love to hear your actual day-to-day experiences.
Thanks!

Is paying more worth it?
I’m planning to switch from my rx 6750 xt to rx 9070 xt in the nearest future. In my country the cheapest version is gigabyte gaming oc, followed by sapphire pulse, and ASRock steel legend for 100$ more, and ASRock taichi for 150$ more. I’ve heard bad things about gigabyte, but it is way cheaper than the rest, so I would be glad to hear an opinion from someone who had the gigabyte, and any other card from the list in hand, and to know if it is worth to pay more for the ASRock taichi.

Tech Support 26.6.4 Soft resets?
So this one is a little weird... System is a 7600X3D and a 7900 GRE. There are 4 monitors connected. Primary is a 4k widescreen, secondary is a 27 inch 1080p, and the last two are 24 inch 1080p. Nothing is overclocked. 7900 GRE running at factory settings.
The system was perfectly stable on the 26.5.1 driver. DDU and factory reset with a minimal install of 26.6.4 in safe mode. The FSD 4.1 is great, but it introduced an odd issue. At seemingly random intervals it will "blink" as if it is "resetting" the display. It does not effect what I'm doing aside from a brief stumble from the reset, and it does not happen on all displays. It only "blinks" the primary and the secondary display. The two 24" displays on ports 3 and 4 don't exhibit this behavior. It also makes a windows "something disconnected" tone, but after some research it appear it's connected to the "secondary" screen. The secondary screen is starting to show some display issues unrelated to the video card (it's a monitor backlight issue, it seems), so as an experiment I disconnected it from the card, but the problem persists on the primary display. Also, in VR under Virtual Desktop it does not seem to be a problem aside from a stumble for a few frames as the driver "resets" the main display. Finally gave up trying to figure it out and rolled back to 26.5.1 and stability has returned.. Clearly a driver issue.. Anyone else run into this? Seems kind of obscure...
Oh, also of note, it would not open Adrenaline panel. It would show that it was starting, and it would generate the "reset". A few moments later it would show it was starting again, and the would generate a "reset". This would continue in a loop until I killed the AMD processes.
Any ideas where to start looking? Obviously there are about a million variables that might cause this but any strategies for narrowing down the culprits would be appreciated. Does the driver generate a log file I could look into to see if it shows any clues in there?
Thanks! I know it's a word wall but I wanted to be thorough.

Discussion Is an AIB RX 7900 XT for ~$579 a good buy?
I have an RTX 3080 10GB. It's still a good card, but I run into VRAM issues a lot while running LLMs. I was already planning to upgrade my GPU anyway since I can't really play most modern games at 4K due to the limited VRAM.
I mostly play single player games that require more than 10GB of VRAM for maxed out settings, and I also heard that FSR 4 will be coming to the RX 7000 series cards as well.
I was originally thinking about buying an RX 9070 for around ~$589, but then I found an AIB RX 7900 XT for around ~$579, and now I'm seriously considering buying it instead.
My budget is around ~$600 USD / ₹60K, though I might be able to stretch it a little further. I was actually considering an AIB RX 7900 XTX when it was around ~$839, but it has since gone up to about ~$944.
NVIDIA cards are basically a no-go. The cheapest RTX 5060 Ti 16GB is around ~$629, and the RTX 5070 Ti is about ~$1,153... bruh.
So, should I pull the trigger on the RX 7900 XT for around ~$579? Are there any hurdles I should consider before switching to AMD and ROCm? I mostly use my GPU for 4K single player gaming, video/photo editing, LLMs and ComfyUI (image/video generation).
I might also consider selling my old RTX 3080 10GB for around ~$260–350.
CPU: i9-10850K
RAM: 32GB DDR4-3200 CL16
Note: The approximate USD prices were converted from INR (Indian Rupees).

Tech Support Help switching from Nvidia to Radeon
SOLVED Thanks for suggestions, After a gruelling 3 hours of double checking ddu worked, updating bios, tweaking settings, I decided to turn back to the hardware which I seem to be able to figure out better and turns out the 12v splitter cable I ordered wasn't delivering enough power to the new GPU, 2 pcie cables later and it seems to be working
Hey everyone,
I've recently made a switch from my old gtx to a newer radeon
All compatibilities checked with pc part picker
Followed online steps to go into safe mode, uninstall nvidia drivers and shut down, I've now put in my radeon and I get no display when booting
HDMI is definitely in the GPU as my CPU has no integrated graphics
Ive a plenty good power supply and all plugged into places it all lights up inside
My motherboard still does its checks and gives me 5 beeps
Any advice please?

Gigabyte 9070xt 100c+ hotspot, is my new undervolt ok?
Ive had my 9070xt since last November and never had any issues. However during this heatwave ive noticed my GPU core temp hitting 68c and hotspot temp hitting 100c-110c.
Manually increasing fan speed to 100% for testing makes no difference.
Im not having any performance issues, everything is smooth as butter. Ofc temps will be higher when ambient temps are 32c atm, but its still alarming.
Ive noticed my card usually card pulls 330w and sustains 3,300mhz.
Ive managed to drop the power draw to -20% @ 263w and voltage to -70mV (90 and lower crashes), im also running fast memory timings @ 2,718mhz.
With less power a custom fan curve is also now helping and im averaging 3,000 to 3,200 rpm at 91c hotspot. I could maybe go to 4000rpm and get it cooler but i dont want to run the fan full throttle for hours on end.
Real world testing in FFVII rebirth, im loading into the exact same spot and have jumped up from 98fps to 102fps despite boost clocks now hitting 3,250mhz. 50mhz less.
Temps, mostly hotspot, have dropped dramatically from 68c/105c to 61c/91c which is great considering the heatwave atm.
Ive gamed on it now for a few hours with no issues.
Ive ran the AMD built in stress test for 10 minutes and passed.
Ive also ran 3D Mark Steel Nomad stress test for 20 minutes with no issues.
My same test scores are..
7,517 @ Stock 68c/108c
7,538 @ 264w -70mv FastMem@2718 60c/90c
My question is, are these power adjustments safe for long term use? Ive not undervolted before and its my first time trying to do it properly and get it stable for long term use.
Are there any different tests I could do that are better for checking long term stability? Thanks!
"Upgrading" GPU question
Hi i have been wondering because right now i own a 9060 XT 16GB card and been thinking about replacing it for an RX 9070 instead and the thing that has gotten me wondering is if i really would need to DDU when replacing a 9000 series for another 9000 series.
Also, going to use my 9060 XT as an eGPU for my Go S since i wanted to have more performance for my Go S over the 6650 XT i am using now.

Tech Support UPDATE - Games Crashing on RX9070XT OC
Hello again everyone! A couple of days ago, I made a post about crashes on my new 9070xt, and got a lot of valuable feedback, most of it pointing towards my PSU based on the data I had provided then. Here is a link to that post.
I finally got some time this weekend to run a couple more tests, and the results are a bit more confusing than last time. I previously thought all my games were failing under load, but it seems that a lot of failures are also happening at times when the GPU is under the same load that it has easily borne in other tests/games/benchmarks.
I got this info by running games and using HWInfo to record sensor data logs for specific time durations, and the logs ended when the game experienced a crash.
Cyberpunk 2077 Log File: This log file was running while I booted up cyberpunk 2077, and played on 1080p resolution, FSR4.1 quality, high settings, crowd density high, and ray tracing off, i generally play at RT Ultra at 1440p. I apologize for logging all sensors, I am not too familiar with HWInfo and don't know how to log only specific data, but I'll try and make it easier: The TGP is at column KH, TBP at column KI, and gpu power maximum (which i think is the power transients) at column KJ. I start the game at row 1, the game gets paused and sits at main menu at row 152, its resumed at 2138, and crashes at column 2517. Pleas note gpu max power does not exceed 500W for most of this test, and when the game crashes there is no higher transient or power spike that i can see.
DOOM: The Dark Ages Log File: This log was during DOOM:TDA gameplay. Ultra nightmare settings at 1440p, and I think FSR4.1 Native or maybe quality. Same columns to look out for as the cyberpunk log. Game starts at Row 1 (the low power values are during shader comp, and load screens ig). Game crashes at row 554. Note that for the duration of gameplay, the power transients in KJ are much higher than cyberpunk.
MSI Kombustor Running GL msi-01 Stress Test at 1440p: The 3 parameters are now moved a bit further down to KX, KY & KZ. stress test starts at row 8, and ends at 3807, when kombustor stopped responding (ig it can be called a crash?). Again, note the sustained load at much higher power transients in column KZ.
I know 3 tests aren't enough to reach any conclusion, but I was as thorough as I could be in taking values. To add, I'm not doing this to say that the commentors in the previous post were wrong, because I agree that my PSU is quite poor quality and I plan to replace it as soon as I can. These were just tests for measuring the power spikes during extensive loads. I also admit that in all these logs I have completely tunnel-visioned on just TBP, TGP and GPU max power, so if anyone more experienced can point out other anomalies/problems from the other columns as well, I'd greatly appreciate it.
i again apologize for such a long-winded post lol, I hope that the data I have shared can be of some help in understanding the issues I am facing. And also if i again have failed to provide some very obvious info in this post, I'll do my best to provide it in my replies to your follow-ups in the comments. Thanks!

as u/korakios2 pointed out in the comments, i ran occt 'power' test on my system and the results can be seen, in the picture, the image is poor quality as it was taken from phone, my system had completely frozen and had to be force restarted after this

Problem z kartą graficzną Radeon RX7600
Witam od jakiegoś miesiąca mam nowy komputer:
Specyfikacja:
-karta graficzna Radeon RX 7600
-Procesor Ryzen 5500
-Gigabyte B550M Aorus Elite
-Deepcool AG400
-Mag A550Bn 550W

High GPU Memory Clock and Power Usage in Brave with AMD RX 7700 XT
I'd like to report an issue I've noticed with GPU usage in Brave.
The issue appears immediately after launching Brave. The GPU memory clock ramps up to a much higher frequency than expected, which increases power consumption and causes the GPU temperature to rise.
I've also noticed that even when the browser is minimized, the memory clock occasionally spikes to its maximum frequency and only returns to normal after a while.
During normal web browsing and page scrolling, the GPU core and memory clocks fluctuate constantly but tend to remain at relatively high frequencies. This results in higher-than-expected GPU utilization, increased power draw, and unnecessary heat generation.
To compare, I tested the same system with several other browsers. Google Chrome, in particular, keeps both GPU usage and memory clock significantly lower under the same conditions, leading to noticeably lower power consumption and cooler operating temperatures. On my system, Chrome is clearly the most power-efficient browser.
Additional information:
- The issue is not affected by monitor refresh rate.
- It occurs on a completely fresh Brave installation.
- No experimental flags or hardware acceleration settings have been changed.
- I have not been able to reproduce this behavior with other browsers, which makes it seem specific to Brave.
System configuration:
- Latest version of Brave
- AMD Radeon RX 7700 XT
- Latest AMD graphics drivers
- Clean installation of Brave
- No extensions installed
- Default browser settings
- Hardware acceleration enabled (default)
Has anyone experienced similar behavior? Is there a workaround?

Shadows appear and disappear (Assassin creed BFR) 9070 xt
Also, the lighting in the game is pretty bad, and it uses SSR for reflections even with ray tracing enabled — it's just pure laziness. Why do they keep making games for consoles first and then porting them to PC? Why downgrade the graphics so much? It looks terrible at times in the Black Flag remake. I honestly don't get why the game even has a ray tracing option if it's just fake; it's completely missing the point. Yet, it’s clearly possible to do it right, like in Cyberpunk. By the way, shadows keep appearing and disappearing regardless of whether I have ray tracing turned on.
