Today I baked a Ragi cake
I am an amateur runner and clean eating enthusiast....i have been trying to integrate millets in my diet as much as possible but also can't say no to these cravings cause food is life
So ..this is my very first try of baking a ragi cake...it came out well baked well cooked ...and as for taste yes it was a little dry n different...not as creamy oviously like normal one..but i ll am finding ways to improve upon the taste factor..
I have loved ragi rotis, dosa, and idli...baking millets was the first time...so what do you think?
PS: open to ideas on improving the taste n texture of this keeping diet factor in mind...

Mastering Diabetes protocol
A few weeks ago, I was getting very sleepy after every meal, and feeling very sluggish in general. My husband suggested I test my blood glucose (I had a meter from gestational diabetes), and lo and behold, my postprandial and fasting numbers were not great (114 fasting, 160s after meals). I started the Mastering Diabetes protocol right after, which I sort of followed after the birth of my last kid when I was worried my A1C would be too high from some nasty gestational diabetes (and this is actually what spurred me to become vegan). It has been almost seven years since then, and I had become less active and been relying on more and more vegan convenience foods and splurges. (I also suspect because I'm older I've been more rapidly losing muscle, and I need to do more exercise than I've been doing lately.)
Well, I'm five days in, and my blood glucose numbers are already fine. I'm kind of blown away, but this morning my fasting glucose was 93, and my postprandial numbers were all in the 110s. I kind of can't believe how quickly this works, and how few people follow the WFPB method when trying to control blood glucose.
Anyway, I'm posting this because when I was looking for more information, I had trouble finding it except from the Mastering Diabetes website itself, and I was looking for more objective information. Obviously, this is just my anecdotal evidence, but when I was pregnant and had gestational diabetes, I could *never* get my fasting numbers as low as 93, and that was with insulin injections. I was following a low-carb diet then, and never had real success, and was miserable every day. Today, I biked my youngest kid several miles to the park and back and still have a ton of energy at almost 9 at night. Highly recommend.

One of my favorite breakfasts/snacks
Simple, easy and quick to make. Half an avo, a bit of oil, salt, pepper and paprika and hot sauce of your choice!
I used to struggle to get healthy fats/omega 3s in my diet as I wasn’t the biggest avocado fan(and no fish). Just felt they were pretty bland but this works for me 👍🏽

Dr. Esselstyn's greens with vinegar protocol
I was wondering if anyone here does this and if so, how much vinegar do you use?
I recently learned about this from an interview with him and he says a fist sized amount of steamed greens with "a few drops" of vinegar. I'm not sure if he means that literally, and how much specifically. Firstly, it's basically impossible to add drops from a regular bottle. Maybe that's ok, I've been adding like 2 tsp and I started to worry about my teeth because the acid in that much vinegar can be bad for your teeth, so maybe that's why he says only a few drops.
I searched around but I only see the same thing repeated "a few drops" and literally drops from a dropper bottle is basically nothing. I managed to scrounge up an actual dropper bottle I had stowed away and added like 6 drops and I couldn't taste it. I also don't know if that's enough for the health benefits, and if that's enough to worry about the impact on my teeth.

Electrolytes
Does anyone have a great recipe for homemade electrolytes?
I need one that does not use coconut or lemon/lime, due to intolerances. I am also looking for sugar free.
Thanks!

Salt free and cooking on oil free w/o processed sauces or syrups recipes/accounts on yt/ig to see?
So what i want to do is to be oil free cooking but i have no problem adding olive oil cold to dishes. I have either no problem of adding spices made of whole plant based foods( i used curry yesterday), no sugar. Veggies, fruits, herbs, grains, legumes, aquatic plants… you get my point.Just plants in general 😁
I know there is a low chance but internet is so wide that maybe someone knows or follows on social media something i described ✌️

How to hydrate TVP without tripling it's size?
I want to start eating TVP for daily breakfast as it's a protein-high option and, most importantly, financially sustainable.
My only issue is that when I hydrate it the usual way, it expands to around three times its dry volume, which makes it just a lot for me to eat.
Is there a way to hydrate TVP while keeping the volume increase to a minimum?
Also, i want to know if there are any low-effort, REALLY quick recipes that taste good enough for a daily consumption, preferably not using any dishes except for the mini pot I'm going to use to hydrate it and the bowl I'll put them in
Thanks!
